PLUTOCRATS TO MEET IN GREECE

AFP on the trail of Bilderberg group: Site near Athens, Greece, is verified to be scene of 2009 globalist coven

By James P. Tucker, Jr.

Bilderberg will return to its 1993 crime scene when it attempts to meet secretly in Vouliagmeni, Greece, May 14-17. Bilderberg will return to the grounds of Nafsika Astir Palace hotels in Vouliagmeni, 20 miles outside Athens, and meet behind guards at the Westin Nafsika.

High on the Bilderberg agenda will be how to manipulate the global economic crisis for their selfish interests. They will pressure both European and North American nations to pull back from "protectionism" in the later meetings of heads of state. Since the international financiers and high officials of government see themselves as "citizens of the world" and scorn "nationalism," their only loyalty is bankrolls, not their country. They love free trade, essential for world government.

Thus, they are determined that the United States and other nations refuse to impose tariffs that would equalize competition at the water's edge. They want to continue shipping U.S. manufacturing jobs overseas where cheap labor may be exploited. They want to continue importing products made by slave labor in China and Africa, underselling domestic products.

Bilderberg, a secret elitist group that meets each spring at posh resorts protected by armed guards, uniformed police, sometimes the host nation's military plus a brigade of private, plain-clothes guards, tries hard to keep its deliberations secret. But, with help from the European media and with inside sources, their mischief is always revealed to this newspaper.

Bilderberg has a dutiful son in President Barack Obama who will be told to press ahead with the North American Union, which is to be expanded throughout the Western Hemisphere into an "American Union" similar to the European Union. Ultimately, with creation of an "Asian-Pacific Union," the world is to be divided into three great regions for the administrative convenience of a global government of the UN. Following orders, Obama has a platoon of Bilderberg luminaries in his administration.

But Bilderberg has had problems for years in trying to impose its will on the globe. When meeting in Greece 19 years ago, it was celebrating President Bill Clinton's promise to sign the Rio Treaty on global warming, which would have surrendered U.S. wealth and sovereignty to international bureaucrats.

Clinton, who attended Bilderberg in 2001 and was elected president in 2002, did sign the Rio Treaty but a test vote in the Senate showed ratification would be overwhelmingly rejected. It is still pending and Bilderberg boys are depressed.

AFP editor James P. Tucker Jr. is a veteran journalist who spent many years as a member of the "elite" media in Washington. Since 1975 he has won widespread recognition, here and abroad, for his pursuit of on-the-scene stories reporting the intrigues of global power blocs such as the Bilderberg Group. Tucker is the author of Jim Tucker's Bilderberg Diary: One Man's 25-Year Battle to Shine the Light on the World Shadow Government. Bound in an attractive full-color softcover and containing 272 pages—loaded with photos, many never published before—the book recounts Tucker's experiences over the last quarter century at Bilderberg meetings. $25 from AFP. No charge for S&H in U.S.

Secret Police Report Slams Supporters of Paul, Baldwin, Barr

By Mark Anderson

Reminiscent of when the Clinton administration in the 1990s stepped up efforts to portray those within the freedom movement as being "ideational conspirators" whose beliefs could be on par with foreign terrorists and/or potential domestic criminals, the Missouri Information Analysis Center is a newer initiative that seems to harbor the same assumptions but lists names in such a way that it opens itself up to potential charges of libel and slander.

Former Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin—a Christian pastor and writer who himself is implicated in the MIAC's special report as representing a "threat" to law enforcement—wrote the following:

"Thanks to a concerned Missouri state policeman, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host stated that he was alerted . . . to a secret Missouri state police report that categorized supporters of Congressman Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and myself as ‘militia influenced terrorists.'"

The report, Baldwin continued, "instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties."

Baldwin ran for president in 2008 and eventually was backed by Rep. Paul after Paul, disgusted with the two dominant political parties, dropped out as a GOP presidential contender, having shook up the political order with his liberty-minded candidacy and bold statements on nationally televised debates.

This MIAC report focuses on the so-called "militia movement" and "conflates it with supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, the so-called patriot movement and other political activist organizations opposed to the North American Union and the New World Order," Baldwin goes on to say in his regular column, published at www.ChuckBaldwinlive.com.

"According to the MIAC, opposition to world government, NAFTA, federalization of the states, and restrictive gun laws is potential threat to the police."

The MIAC report also refers to the late Aaron Russo's film, America: Freedom to Fascism, as yet another species of information alleged to signify a "threat" in some manner.

AMERICAN FREE PRESS has interviewed Baldwin, Paul and many of those in his movement, as well as Russo and can certify that there is nothing to these spurious allegations. This project appears to be nothing less than political profiling by a nervous establishment that fears the American people are waking up to the devastating effects on the nation brought on by Marxist political correctness and 15 years of NAFTA—which is a major culprit in the economic downturn.

Americans in increasing numbers also are concerned about the aggressive efforts of U.S. leaders, captive to a global agenda, to merge the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a North American Union like the European Union. AFP and its maliciously-destroyed spiritus rector, The Spotlight, has steadily covered the efforts of hard-working Americans such as Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom who oppose a project for the North American Union—namely the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor, or NAFTA Superhighway.

The opposition to these schemes is not and has never been violent, as citizens conduct peaceful marches, file lawsuits, attend legislative hearings and other normal channels seeking a redress of grievances and open, accountable government.

This report is not original. During the Clinton administration, a Phoenix Federal Bureau of Investigation and Joint Terrorism Task Force explicitly designated defenders of the Constitution as "right-wing extremists."

However, the "MIAC report significantly expands on earlier documents and is the first known document to actually name names," Baldwin added.

The MIAC report itself is linked here:

Foreclosed Homeowners Try New Strategy

Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio says force banks to ‘produce the note'

By Steve Hempfling

If you're poor and the bank is coming for your home, Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) has a plan for you: just squat, she says. Yes, she is encouraging her financially distressed constituents whose homes have been foreclosed upon to simply stay put.

CNN's Drew Griffin explored the case of Ohioan Andrea Geiss, whose home was foreclosed upon in April. "Behind in payments, out of work, a husband sick, she had nowhere to go," said Griffin. "So, she decided to follow the advice of her congresswoman and go nowhere."

In Lucas County, Ohio, over 4,000 properties were foreclosed upon in 2008, reports CNN. "So I say to the American people, you be squatters in your own homes," said Miss Kaptur before the House of Representatives. "Don't you leave."

She's called on all of her foreclosed-upon constituents to stay in their homes and refuse to leave without "an attorney and a fight," said CNN.

"If they've had no legal representation of a high quality, I tell them stay in their homes," Miss Kaptur told Griffin.

Miss Kaptur is a high-profile advocate of an increasingly popular mode of fighting foreclosures best known for its key phrase: "Produce the note."

By telling a bank to "produce the note," a homeowner can delay foreclosure by forcing the lender to prove the suing institution is actually the same which owns the debt.

"During the lending boom, most mortgages were flipped and sold to another lender or servicer or sliced up and sold to investors as securitized packages on Wall Street," explains the Consumer Warning Network. "In the rush to turn these over as fast as possible to make the most money, many of the new lenders did not get the proper paperwork to show they own the note and mortgage. This is the key to the ‘produce the note' strategy."

Earlier, CNN explored one person's strategy in demanding her bank "produce the note," only to find that the lender had "lost or destroyed" the evidence of debt ownership. Such a revelation can significantly strengthen a homeowner's position when asking to renegotiate a mortgage.

That these banks, many of which received billions of dollars in government bailout funds, continue to boot defaulted owners from their homes, makes them "vultures" says Kaptur.

"They prey on our property assets," she said. "I guess the reason I'm so adamant on this is because I know property law and its power to protect the individual homeowner. And I believe that 99.9 percent of our people have not had good legal representation in this."

Neo-Cons Want Patriot Act Extended

24 GOP members of Congress approve of legislation extending worst aspects of reviled Patriot Acts

REPUBLICAN MEMBERS in Congress introduced legislation in early March to reauthorize some of the most controversial portions of the misnamed Patriot Act, which are set to expire this year.

Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), John Boehner (Ohio), Mike Pence (Ind.), Lamar Smith (Tex.) and 20 other neo-conservative congressmen signed onto the Safe and Secure America Act of 2009, which seeks to extend for an additional 10 years provisions that allow federal authorities to conduct warrantless surveillance, to access library patron information and to bypass privacy protections in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

"The Patriot Act is a part of helping to keep America safe," Boehner told reporters during a press conference on March 12, "and we've got to do everything we can in this time of economic crisis to protect our citizens from those who'd want to harm us."

When the Patriot Act was first passed by Congress one month after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, privacy groups objected to the freedom-robbing measure. At the time, legislators claimed that the bill would only be temporary following 9-11. Eight years later, the most troubling portions of the legislation are still law even though the provisions were set to expire at the end of 2005. That year, Congress hastily passed legislation which kept the measures in full force.

There has been much debate over the Patriot Act's effectiveness other than sending the country further down the slippery slope of a police state. The FBI's own inspector general found that federal law enforcement regularly applied the new law for the purpose of prosecuting other criminal activity that was outside the intent of the original legislation.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) recently issued a report which details how federal agents abused provisions in the Patriot Act, applying them to cases not related to terrorism. In addition, the ACLU found that the Patriot Act has had little tangible effect on the prosecution of terrorist suspects. The government claims it has prosecuted 400 terrorist cases in seven years as a result of the Patriot Act, but the truth, according to the ACLU, is that only 39 of these resulted in actual convictions for terrorism.

In addition, "the median sentence for these crimes was 11 months, which indicates the crime the government equated with terrorism was not serious," reported the ACLU.

"More than seven years after its implementation, there is little evidence to demonstrate that the Patriot Act has made America more secure from terrorists," said the ACLU's report. "The Patriot Act vastly—and unconstitutionally—expanded the government's authority to pry into people's private lives with little or no evidence of wrongdoing."

More Than 600 Architects Say 9/11 an Inside Job

By Mark Anderson

IRVINE, Calif.—Noted San Francisco architect Richard Gage told the audience at Freedom Law School's annual health and freedom conference recently that his organization, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, is growing quickly and now has more than 600 structural experts who have grave doubts about the official story of what happened to the three World Trade Center buildings that were destroyed in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.

ARTICLE CONTINUES AFTER VIDEO

AFP INTERVIEWS RICHARD GAGE OF ARCHITECTS FOR 9/11 TRUTH

"We hope to have 1,000 members by September and have over 600 now," said Gage, a successful architect whose projects dot the California landscape.

The audience heard Gage describe the many problems with the official version, not the least of which is that fire is an "organic process" that could not have caused the symmetrical (uniform) destruction of the 110-story Twin Towers that morning, and the fall of the 47-story Soloman Brothers Building (Building 7) more than six hours later. These three buildings were part of the Rockefeller-inspired WTC complex, consisting of seven buildings on 16 acres.

Gage noted that the vaunted National Institute for Safety and Technology (NIST) study of the WTC buildings did not even look at the voluminous evidence of a controlled demolition of the three structures on 9-11, so it's not as if the evidence was examined by NIST and declared inconclusive. NIST instead only examined the event "up to the point of collapse" and went no further. Thus, there is no way the government can objectively assess the entire catastrophic event.

"How can you find what you are not looking for?" Gage asked, adding that various forces that can destroy buildings—including fire and earthquakes—have obvious characteristics. Fire does not devour a structure uniformly because it randomly branches out wherever there is, say, furniture and other "fuel" to consume. The melting point of structural steel is around 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit. The short-duration Twin Tower fires reached no more than 1,400 degrees (and that is very generous).

So for the government to say that burning jet fuel within the Twin Towers not only uniformly melted structural steel to the point of collapse—but brought the huge buildings down at near freefall speed—is the height of absurdity, not to mention that it is categorically impossible for fire to pulverize concrete. More than 90,000 tons of concrete was pulverized mid-air, along with metal decking. Blast waves blew out windows in buildings 400 feet away.

That third building that many Americans still are only dimly aware of, Building 7, really drives this issue home, in Gage's view. "Well, the 600 architects I represent are most concerned about the freefall collapse of Building 7, the third skyscraper [that was] not hit by an airplane to fall on the afternoon of 9/11. This is a 47-story skyscraper that in the first hundred feet of its fall is falling at freefall speed. This is acknowledged by NIST. That can't happen unless the structure [underneath] is removed. There is no resistance from the structure to that fall in the first 2.25 seconds. So this is of great concern. Of course it falls symmetrically almost at freefall speed and collapses thereafter—the whole building is destroyed in 6.5 seconds," as he told AFP in an exclusive interview.

He added: "NIST . . . claims that we have 10 fires [in Building 7], one of which was ‘roaring' . . . and [the fires] ‘expanded the beams,' knocking a girder off its seat and causing ‘an internal cascading collapse'—which is ludicrous because we would have seen all kinds of deformation on the perimeter structure. Anyway, they claim fires brought this building down, but fire is an organic process that doesn't bring buildings down symmetrically at freefall speed, in the manner of a classic controlled demolition. So that's the No. 1 key point of evidence."

As for the Twin Towers, he said there are "many similar features of controlled demolition, but very different as well. It's explosive. Everything is being ejected outside of the footprint – 95 percent of the debris. Four-ton perimeter wall units are being hurled laterally 600 feet, which takes 55 miles per hour instant acceleration out of the sides of the tower. Now underneath all three buildings we have several tons of molten metal [at 2,700 F or hotter, which stayed hot for 3-4 months] which is not created by jet fuel or office fires or anything else. Where does all this come from? We have video evidence, photographic evidence. The official government reports don't even talk about it; nor do they talk about the dozens of explosions heard by 118 witnesses recorded orally by the chief fire commissioner of the City of New York."

Gage continued: "It's extraordinary what we don't have in the [NIST] report, and that's what we focus on in Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. In addition in the towers we have 110 floors of four-inch thick concrete; they are an acre in size each. We're looking for some of those floors at the bottom of the pile. The photographs don't reveal any of them—just a pile of debris two or three stories high."

"Where did the ‘pancakes' go?" AFP then asked Gage, referring to the government's "pancake" theory, wherein the heavy collapsing floors from the top overwhelmed the structure below and "pancaked" down to the bottom. Counting both towers, 220 floors were missing on that "Black Tuesday."

"That's what we're looking for is pancakes," he replied. "We've got the ‘syrup,' we have no pancakes. The ‘syrup' is the molten metal."

He went on to say: "Also we are looking at explosions that occurred 20, 40 and 60 stories down—below the collapsing building! Where are they coming from? NIST says they are ‘puffs of air' because there are piledrivers pushing down the building and that air has to come out somewhere, right? They are not puffs of air; they are pulverized building materials and they occur at 160 to 200 feet per second. These are propelled by explosive speeds."

As determined by former Brigham Young physicist Steven Jones—and reiterated by Gage—the telltale signs of an ultra-hot incendiary known as thermite (which becomes thermate with sulfur added) were found in the dust at 4-5 distinct locations in New York. Thermite can reach temperatures of 4,500 F and can be explosive when it's souped up. Microspheres formed from molten iron constitute some of the evidence, as well as red chips comprised of unignited thermite. Gage believes that nano-thermite is the most likely culprit, since it is a "quieter" but ultra-powerful explosive.

"Al Qaeda probably did not have access to these buildings or to thermite (or thermate), which was not made in a cave in Afghanistan," Gage commented, adding, however, that his organization www.AE911truth.org does not formally probe who the perpetrators were. But he fears whoever pulled it off could do it again because the truth has long been suppressed, leaving Americans vulnerable.

Gage's group supports a new, genuine investigation, whereas the official "investigation" did not even include establishing a crime scene at the WTC complex and ended with the official 9/11 Commission report that doesn't even mention Building 7.

Scare Stories About Russia, Iran Are Just More Mainstream Media Lies

By Michael Collins Piper

On a regular basis the mass Media paints ugly pictures of foreign leaders such as President Mahmoud Ahmadinijad of Iran and Russian premier Vladimir Putin, portraying them as modern-day heirs of Adolf Hitler (the great villain, or so cast, by the media during the 20th century) and as threats to Israel and the United States.

It is for good reason that AMERICAN FREE PRESS continues to insist that "the Media Is the Enemy." The mass print and broadcast media in the United States - which is controlled by war-mongering globalists - has been guilty of perpetrating untruths about international affairs, working assiduosusly to stir up Americans into a war-like state of mind, directing them to focus their ire on foreign nations such as Iran and Russia, much as they did in the buildup to both of the American wars against Iraq.*

However, despite the predominance of lies and disinformation in the mass media, occasionally some truths leak out, buried in the pages of small-circulation journals and in the pages of books. And bearing in mind that most non0fiction books seen in bookstores and in libraries generally sell, on the average, roughly 10,000 copies – in country of 250 million people - it's clear that those who actually get the facts appearing in those books are a relatively small number indeed.

The media bombards Americans with scare stories about Iran being on the verge of assembling a nuclear arsenal, although the media iscareful to omit the fact that Iran (and other Middle Eastern nations) might have an interest in nuclear weapons because of the fact that their neighbor, Israel, is one of the world's five great nuclear powers with untold numbers of nuclear weapons in place, aimed - as one Israeli geopolitical and military analyst, Dr. Martin van Crevald has admitted - at London, Rome, Moscow, and other global capitals.

However, in a recent commentary entitled "How to deal With Iran," published in the February 12 edition of the small circulation New York Review, three influential American analysts have laid waste to much of this media ballyhoo.

Although the authors - William Luer, president of the United Nations Association of the United States of America, Thomas R. Pickering, former undersecretary of state for political affairs, and Jim Walsh, a research associate in the Security Studies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - have called for the transfer of Iran's program for uranium enrichment (central to weapons development) to multinational ownership and operation following negotiation with Iran, they dispute claims (coming from Israel and from pro-Israel media voices) that Iran now has enough nuclear fuel to build a nuclear weapon. In regard to this misinformation, they wrote:

New reports and some commentators have recently claimed that Iran has enough material for a nuclear weapon. These reports referred to Iran's stock of low-enriched uranium. This is a misleading claim. To begin with, one cannot make a nuclear weapon with low-enriched uranium. A nuclear weapon requires highly enriched uranium or plutonium, and Iran possess neither. In theory, Iran could take its stock of low-enriched uranium and enrich it to a grade required for making bombs, but its low-enriched uranium is currently under the surveillance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Diverting this material for military purposes would be discovered by the IAEA. (Detection of diversion is the IAEA's technological strong suit. Iran's choices, therefore, are to cheat and get caught or kick out the inspectors. Either action would represent an extreme departure from Iranian strategy to date and in any case would likely precipitate military action by Israel.

The mass media has, for years, targeted Russian leader Vladimir Putin, coming on the heels of a "study" issued by the Council on Foreign Relations - the New York-based affiliate of the Rothschild family controlled Royal Institute of International affairs in London. The study raised concerns about so-called "anti-democratic" trends I Russia under Putin, who enraged the international financial community with his measures to curtail the power of the plutocratic oligarchs in Russia (many of whom hold joint Russian-Israeli citizenship and who, in several instances, have gone into exile).

However, as Edward Lucas, in his The New Cold War: Putin's Russia and the Threat to the West, pointed out, Putin is actually very popular among the Russian people:

Though they lack the freedom to choose their elected representatives, to organize publicly to influence their government, or to change their political systems, never in Russian history have so many Russians lived so well and so freely. That is a proud boast, and one that even those who dislike Russia's current path must honestly acknowledge.

Lucas said further:

For all his attacks on other freedoms, Putin has preserved the ones that the "new Russians" most care about. More than ever before, Russians can plan their lives: they can save, educate themselves, trave, and bring up their children as they like; they can buy anything they can afford, own property at home or abroad, worship (mostly) as they like; they can even live according to their sexual preference (if not always publicly).

In short, Putin is not the totalitarian autocrat that Putin's critic in New York, London and Tel Aviv (and their flacks in the media, in the Washington "think tanks" and in neo-conservative propaganda outfits) insist on telling the American people.

This phenomenon - mass media lies about selected foreign leaders who have crossed the would-be rulers of a New World Order - is nothing new. Dr. Richard Falk, a professor in international law at Princeton University, has written two pivotal works demonstrating that America's so-called "newspaper of record," The New York Times, has continually distorted the facts about the conduct of U.S. foreign policy: namely, (1) The Record of the paper: How the New York Times Misreports U.S. foreign Policy; and (2) Israel-Palestine on Record: How the New York Time Misreports Conflict in the Middle East. And what makes the Times' outrageous record even more problematic is the fact that many other media outlets take their leads on reporting on foreign policy from this powerful daily newspaper.

Incidentally, Dr. Falk has emerged as a particularly outspoken critic of Israel in his recent role as the special United Nations rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, to the point that Israel actually barred Falk for visiting Palestine. In addition, he has raised doubts about the "official" version of what really happened during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil, saying that growing skepticism "taints the legitimacy of the American government."

The bottom line is this: The Media Is the Enemy. You simply can't trust the mas media to give you the news about international affairs that you need to know.

The Federal Reserve: The Biggest Pyramid Scheme Still Running

By Victor Thorn

The only reason the privately owned Federal Reserve banking cartel hasn't entirely collapsed yet is because they still have the ability to keep their Ponzi scheme intact. Why do you think they've resorted to such desperate measures during the past year? It's because they have no other choice - its either swim or drown. In effect, they've become akin to disgraced financier Bernie Madoff; and regrettably, our survival now depends on the perpetuation of this horrific Ponzi/pyramid scheme.

If the U.S. dollar is dropped as the world's reserve currency, it would have a catastrophic impact on Americans' standard of living. Because the majority of international commodities are priced in dollars (most importantly, oil), every other country needs to stockpile our currency. In addition, due to nations such as China, Japan, and India partially financing our debt; America is, in essence, being subsidized on a global scale. That's why we're able to amass such astronomical deficits and live so far beyond our means. This single point encapsulates our position in the worldwide economic picture.

But, if the dollar is ever dumped as the primary reserve currency, our situation will be dramatically altered almost immediately. This same rationale applies to the foreign financing of our debt. If it ever dries up because our money becomes so devalued that it's abandoned, Americans will face dire consequences.

Due to a variety of factors which are conspiratorial in nature, including Fed-induced rampant overspending, there are forces at work trying to bring about the dollar's demise. As the U.S. suffers through massive bailouts, a worsening recession, increased unemployment, the AIG scandal, and historic stimulus packages, "a UN panel recommended that the world's central banks drop the dollar as their top reserve currency.

Leading the charge is former JP Morgan currency chief and chairman of Intelligence Capital, Avinash Persaud. Gwen Robinson reported for Financial Times on March 19 that Persaud stated, "It is a good moment to move to a shared reserve currency." Last fall, Russia's Vladimir Putin was quoted in the Georgian Daily by Maria Levitor and Emma O'Brien (October 28, 2008) as telling China that they should distance themselves from America's currency because "the whole world based on the dollar is experiencing serious problems." Aware of their precarious position, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao warned at a press conference in mid-March that the U.S. government should "keep its commitment and promise to ensure the safety of Chinese assets."

Still, despite increasing resistance from external Sources, the U.S. dollar is safe - at least temporarily - for the following reasons:

• Regardless of its recommendations to dump the dollar, Marc Chandler of Brown Brothers Harriman says, "The UN has no real power over the world's central banks."
Marketplace reporter Janet Babin assesses quite accurately, "The world's central banks have about two-thirds of their cash reserves in dollars." Any shifts won't happen overnight.
• Nearly all international business contracts and commodity prices still use the dollaras their standard.
• Even in a serious recession, the U.S. continues to be the world's largest economy. Further, currency strategist Richard Grace notes that America "has the deepest and most sophisticated bond markets."
• Although the euro trades higher than its counterpart, Europe is beseeched with its own economic problems, making the euro a non-starter to replace the dollar. Stephen Jen of organ Stanley remarked on March 19, "The euro remains the most structurally challenged" of major currencies.
• With plans to introduce a new reserve currency of its own, Russia is still plagued by its dependence on oil revenues, which have been greatly reduced since prices dropped from $140 a barrel to $40.
• China is unlikely to shift away from the dollar anytime soon due to the "Wal-Mart Syndrome" (i.e. their manufacturing base is dependent upon exports to our retail markets).
• During last fall's global financial meltdown, foreign investors fled once again to U.S. Treasures that were based in U.S. dollars.
• On March 19, financial observer Chris Martenson, Ph.D, wrote about the existence of a globalist contingency plan in case the dollar tanks where "the IMF plans to issue ‘Special Drawing rights' which are nothing more than irredeemable bits of paper that central banks can pretend have vajue amongst themselves." These SDRs are a de facto "global currency" in case of emergency. At this time, however, the IMF is too symbiotically attached to the Federal Reserve to start releasing billions of "new dollars" onto the global market - either causing widespread panic, or hyperinflation.
• There is no clear alternative to the dollarat this moment; whether it's the euro, China's yuan, a "shared basket" of various national currencies, or a one-world monetary unit.

Undoubtedly, it's in America's best interest to retain the dollar as the world's reserve currency. Since the Fed or Congress won't significantly change their policies anytime soon; in simplest terms, if the dollar fails, the U.S. fails. That's why any changes to the above factors could spell doom for our economy. In addition, other warning signs include:

• Asian countries flooding the market with our Treasuries because the dollar keeps losing value, or our deficit spins even more out of control.
• Similarly, if central banks worldwide begin drastically reducing their dollar holdings, our currency will nose dive in value.
• The steady course of inflation equates to being an additional quasi-tax by continually eroding the value of our money.
• If the Fed keeps monetizing our debt, as they did on March 18 by simply printing more money out of then air ($1.2 trillion) to cover the government's expenses, other countries will realize that we've hit critical mass. Such a crisis-move signifies that foreign governments are no longer willing to lend us money to cover our growing deficit.
• A continuing recession where Americans can no longer afford to buy Chinese imports, thus forcing China to quit financing our debt in return (subsidizing us).

It's clear that the U.S. is teetering on the edge of a financial calamity. Fortunately, the dollar - considering all its drawbacks - still maintain its shaky dominance. But once any combination of the factors outlined her become more prominent, or catastrophe strikes (another 9-11, WW III, etc), the entire global financial system could literally change in a heartbeat. Ir that occurs, the world may very likely view America as the latest Bernie Madoff and blame us for letting our Ponzi scheme bankrupt everyone else. The United States is at the Fed's mercy, and that's a precarious position to be in, especially if we're made to be patsies for their wrong-doing.

Propping Up Failed Institutions Much Worse Than Bankruptcy

By Ron Paul

The distraction on Capitol Hill has to do with the jackpot bonuses that executives at AIG recently received. The argument is over a relative drop in the bucket. The total amount of bonuses given out was $165 million. The government has put $170 billion into AIG so far. Many now are demanding we get this money back. We ought to be spending our time and effort doing something more worthwhile, like figuring out how the Federal Reserve is handling the trillions of dollars they are creating and pumping into the economy, and how that is affecting the purchasing power of dollars in your pocket.

The big mistake was appropriating the TARP funds in the first place. A Johnny-come-lately bill of attainder won't stop the spending epidemic. This whole situation is a perfect demonstration of why "doing nothing" and letting failing companies fail would have been much better than sinking valuable money and resources into them.

When a company makes a profit, it is a signal that it is taking resources and increasing their value while controlling costs. When a company operates at a loss, it is a signal that it is decreasing the value of its resources or letting out-of-control costs outstrip any value it has created. A company operating at a loss is therefore an engine of wealth destruction. Bankruptcies are a net positive for the economy because more productive competitors are rewarded by opportunities to buy up remaining assets at bargain prices to strengthen their operations. In an economy that allows this kind of growth and change, any jobs lost by bankruptcy are soon replaced by new ones as the ost efficiently managed businesses gain access to more assets and expand.

Bankruptcy was the stimulus that we needed in the case of AIG. More bankruptcies would clean out mal-invested resources and enable economic growth again.

AIG, by losing money and maneuvering their operations to the brink of bankruptcy, was telling us that they were inefficient. So what did we do? We forced the taxpayer to assume the losses, and now we are supposed to be shocked that it is not working out. Had AIG gone bankrupt, it would have been impossible to hand out these bonuses. The taxpayer would have been fleeced for $170 billion less last year. Had they gone bankrupt, the world would not have come to an end, it would just continue on with one less engine of wealth destruction.

We should have learned from Japan. The 1990s is referred to as Japan's "lost decade" because of the zombie banks kept on life support by the Japanese government. Any productivity was redirected through these engines of wealth destruction, resulting in long-term stagnation. We should and can avoid this outcome if we come to our senses.

A recession should be a time of strengthening and regrouping for an economy. But as long as the government insists on maintaining the status quo by propping up failed institutions, we will continue to dig a bigger hole for ourselves.

Patriots Win Profiling Fight

Missouri Report Smearing Patriots Withdrawn Due to Citizen Pressure

By Mark Anderson

MISSOURI PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR John Britt on March 23 issued an apology letter to Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), former Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), and Florida minister and former Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin.

Why? For having included their names in the Missouri Information Analysis Center's report that linked Americans concerned about NAFTA, the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the proposed North American Union, firearms confiscation and other real issues with "the militia movement."

Indeed, the embattled MIAC report, first reported in AFP a week ago, implies that any significant distrust of government schemes could be linked with militia activities or untrustworthy "right-wing" belief systems. The MIAC report available online essentially says that while "the militia movement" peaked in 1996, it's making a return due to the moribund economy.

But the report apparently has been totally withdrawn, not just altered to address the concerns of Paul, Barr and Baldwin, said the head of the Missouri Highway Patrol.

"For instance, the militia report was created by a MIAC employee, reviewed by the MIAC director, and sent immediately to law enforcement agencies across Missouri. The militia report was never reviewed by me or by the Director of Public Safety [DPS], John Britt, at any point prior to its issuance. Had that report been reviewed by either my office or by leaders of the Department of Public Safety, it would never have been released to law enforcement agencies," wrote Col. James Keathley in an official letter that AFP obtained from Missouri officials on March 31.

He added: "The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety believe that law enforcement officers require intelligence of the highest quality and that the report in question does not meet that standard. For that reason, I have ordered the MIAC to permanently cease distribution of the militia report. Further, I am creating a new process for oversight of reports drafted by the MIAC that will require leaders of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety to review the content of these reports before they are shared with law enforcement. My office will also undertake a review of the origin of the report by MIAC."

The evidently defunct report, for example, had noted that the peaceful "End the Fed" rallies held nationwide at 39 Federal Reserve Banks (12 main branches, plus smaller outlets) last November are part of a movement that ultimately could be "dangerous" to law enforcement.

In fact, many at these rallies came from both liberal and conservative backgrounds. Their concern is simply that the Fed, as the nation's central bank, is too secretive and is doing a poor job, and thus should be dissolved via legislation.

Britt's letter of apology to Paul, Barr and Baldwin—all of whom were 2008 presidential candidates (for the GOP, Libertarian and Constitution parties, respectively)— was in response to a March 20 letter from those three to Britt's boss, Missouri Gov. Jeremiah Nixon.

Britt wrote to them: "Unfortunately, in the course of preparing this report, some regrettable information was included in the report on militia groups in Missouri. While the intent of the report was only to identify certain traits that are sometimes shared by members of militia organizations, the report is too easily misinterpreted as suggesting that militia members may be identified by no other indicator than support for a particular candidate or political organization. That is an undesired and unwarranted outcome."

Britt added: "Upon review and reflection, it is the judgment of the Department of Public Safety [DPS] that the report should have made no reference to supporters of Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin or any other third-party political organization or candidate. In recognition of the mistaken inclusion of this information by the MIAC in its Feb. 20, 2009 report on the militia movement, I have ordered that the offending report be edited so as to excise all reference to Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin and to any third-party political organizations. Additionally you may rest assured that the report is not posted on any website maintained by the state of Missouri."

Paul, Barr and Baldwin did not merely ask that their names be deleted and that state online postings of the report be dropped, They also challenged the report itself, adding in their letter:

"The ‘report' draws links between white supremacists, anti-immigration persons, people opposed to gun control and those who do not favor the Federal Reserve banks and much more. Were the ‘report' nothing more than a nonsensical diatribe penned by some uninformed person, we would certainly not take our time writing this letter."

Missouri citizens had been preparing to meet with area law enforcement to give them commonsense input on this matter, to try and prevent police from abridging freedom of speech and other constitutional protections afforded all Americans, regardless of their beliefs.

More over, Missouri State Rep. Shane Schoeller, District 139, has sponsored a bill to forbid political profiling. The MIAC report came from an actual place that is part of Missouri's "fusion center" where information is pooled to tackle crime and terrorist threats. New Department of Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano visited the center on March 11.

"Napolitano and Gov. Nixon then traveled to Kansas City to address the National Fusion Center Conference. Fusion centers are collaborative efforts by law enforcement and other agencies to pool information, resources and analysis to better address and detect crime and potential terrorist threats. Napolitano called fusion centers, which often receive federal funding and work with federal agencies, ‘the future of law enforcement,'' stated a DPS news release online.

MIAC went into operation in December 2005 and started 24-hour operations on Oct. 1, 2006, the DPS noted in a brochure.

Borderless World the Long-held Dream of Bilderberg Group

By James P. Tucker, Jr.

Bilderberg will continue to push for world government at the May 14-19 secret meeting in Vouliagmeni, Greece, according to a participant. Alice Rivlin, who has represented the Brookings Institution at Bilderberg, smiled and nodded when asked if the agenda this year includes "world government, a world without borders and an American Union."

These have been Bilderberg goals for many years but have been blocked by what participants refer to sneeringly as "nationalism." Bilderberg intends to expand the North American Free Trade Agreement throughout the Western Hemisphere as a prelude to establishing an "American Union" similar to the European Union. The ultimate goal is a world government under the UN. Her greatest Bilderberg thrill?

"Sitting next to the queen," she replied, referring to Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

In a separate Bilderberg development, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner tripped over his mouth and let the truth escape while addressing the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. The CFR is heavily represented at Bilderberg meetings.

Geithner expressed support for a proposal to replace the dollar as the world's reserve currency with a basket of currencies that would be managed by the Inter - national Monetary Fund.

"We're actually quite open to that," he said. Publicly, both Geithner and President Obama say they are opposed to the idea.

G-20 European Summit Could Trigger ‘Summer of Rage'

By Victor Thorn

"A tsunami of dissent is coming, and it is not clear what will remain and what will be remade." These are the words of UK journalist Micah White, and fear is now starting to build in Europe that a "summer of rage" may sweep across the continent.

Torcuil Crichton of The Herald described how fliers proclaiming "Storm the Banks" were posted on the Internet, making security personnel in Docklands (outside London) jittery as world leaders arrived for the G-20 Summit. Another site said "G-20 ministers are trying to get away with the biggest April Fool's trick of all time. Their tax-dodging, bonus-guzzling, unregulated free market world is in meltdown, and these fools think we're going to bail them out. They've got to be joking!"

Tension is high in Europe and the United Kingdom. Similar to the U.S., unemployment is rising, the economy is sluggish, homes are being foreclosed, middle-class taxpayers are furious about billionaire banks being bailed out, illegal foreign workers aren't regulated by the government, while a credit crisis continues to put the pinch on small business.

As a result, protests are springing up in every direction. Greek solidarity workers blocked roads because agricultural prices are falling. Over a million French citizens took to the streets in an attempt to protect their jobs, while 120,000 in Dublin showed their displeasure with the way economic matters are being handled.

The situation is even more extreme in Latvia, where they actually brought about the collapse of their government; whereas demonstrators in Reykjavik, Iceland openly clashed with police, also toppling their government.

If the G-20 Summit is a launching pad for further violence, in the crosshairs will be international bankers and global corporations. Fueled by outrage over continued bailouts and bonuses, these companies are now viewed as "viable targets" for anarchists, anti-capitalists, and eco-terrorists. Added to this mix of "typical, known protesters" are everyday, middle-class citizens fed up with being ignored, manipulated, and exploited by out of- touch officials.

Orwell Prize-winning journalist and UK Daily Mail columnist Melanie Phillips summarizes how established political parties keep turning a blind eye to the concerns of their voters, especially in regard to nationalism.

"These parties not only refuse to address the issues that concern the public most deeply and emotionally, but also demonize those who express such anxieties as racists or fascists. In particular, they have colluded in a refusal to acknowledge that nationalism—or attachment to one's own country and its values—is a perfectly respectable, even admirable, sentiment."

She said that if one is rooted in a culture and identity of history, language, religion, and law, they're vilified as xenophobic. The press is already targeting such English groups as the BNP (British National Party) and Combat 18 as being violent, far-right, fascist rabble-rousers. If mayhem does erupt during the "summer of rage," will these nationalist organizations become scapegoats, similar to how militia groups were ostracized after the staged Oklahoma City Bombing? Will the love of country, race, the right to bear arms, and an anti-taxation stance all be seen as "negative impulses" while globalists push for a world of increased socialism?

As a gauge of England's growing discontent, reform-minded politician Daniel Hannan has become the poster-boy of protest. After Prime Minister Gordon Brown addressed the European Parliament and asked for the largest stimulus in his nation's history, Hannan of the Conservative Party challenged him face-to-face.

"The truth, prime minister, is that you have run out of our money. . . . You cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to find an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. . . . You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. . . . I have to tell you that you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik. . . . You are the devalued prime minister of a devalued government."

Concerned citizens in America are now starting to ask: when will we get a public official like Daniel Hannan to stand up directly to Barack Obama and ask these very same questions?

Victor Thorn is a hard-hitting researcher, journalist and the author of many books on 9-11 and the New World Order. These include 9-11 Evil: The Israeli Role in 9-11 and Phantom Flight 93.

Globalists Fear Belarus-Iran Alliance

By Dr. M. Raphael Johnson, Ph.D.

The global economic downturn over the past year is doing its part to recreate political boundaries and alliances. One of the most damaging for U.S. interests is the development of military and financial ties between Belarus and Iran.

While Belarus is a small country, they have inherited a powerful scientific and technical establishment from the USSR, and the Iranians are making use of this as they plan for a possible Israeli strike.

As the Russians have gradually drawn back their oil subsidies to the Belarusian state, President Alexander Lukashenko has been forced to seek allies elsewhere, including Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Belarusian economy is the highest performing of all the former Soviet states, with the lowest unemployment and the highest trade surplus. Iran and Belarus are explicitly attempting to become the core of a new trading bloc independent of the U.S. and EU, based around free trade and the sovereignty of peoples. It is an anti-globalist trading bloc that includes China, the UAE and Armenia among its members.

Belarusian oil firms have already contracted with the Iranian government to build rigs and to provide technical assistance, as Belarus was Russia's oil refining specialist throughout the Cold War.

"We think there is a need to create a multi-polar system in the world, which is characterized by balance and equilibrium. We are against a one-polar system and against the use of pressure on other states," the president of Iran said. "This is why we have a positive view of both bilateral and multilateral dialogue in various spheres with Belarus," he added. A world order based on state sovereignty and de-centralization is the real purpose behind this bloc.

The Iranian automaker, IKCO, has returned the favor and is taking advantage of the technical skills of Belarus by investing heavily in the country. In a recent joint statement, the two countries made several points: First, that the global economic downturn is the fault of the U.S. and its globalization schemes. Second, that the point of the Iran/Belarus bloc was to assist in the countering of this downturn, and that military cooperation was to be a large part of this co-operation. Iran is also in on the "currency swap" with the Chinese Central Bank, where the US. dollar is slowly being dumped. The Chinese are going to a multi-currency basis so as to both avoid dependence on the U.S. dollar as well as diversify currency holdings.

This is most irritating to the "human rights" non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the U.S. State Department. Both Iran and Belarus are also developing substantial military ties, and the global press is upset that this might lead to Belarus being the conduit for Russian missile and nuclear technology going to Iran.

This thought has led to hysterical reactions in the West. Radio Liberty has condemned this bloc for nullifying the U.S.-Israeli sanctions against Iran, since trade freely flows from Belarus, Russia, India and China. The U.S.-Israeli sanctions have been set at naught.

Gun Legislation Begins to Pile Up In Congress

By Christopher J. Petherick

With Democrats controlling both Congress and the White House, supporters of the Second amendment are concerned that new laws will be enacted curtailing Americans' right to won firearms. Their unease is well founded. A search of the legislative docket in Congress reveals that nearly 40 bills have been introduced in the House and the Senate - some good, some bad - that relate to guns.

Statements made by newly appointed Attorney General Eric Holder certainly add fuel to the fire. During a press conference on Feb. 26, Holder said: "As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons."

The so-called assault weapons ban refers to legislation signed under President Clinton that barred mostly cosmetic features like certain types of pistol grips, adjustable stocks and flash suppressors. Many Americans, who are ignorant of how guns work, supported the new law because they were fooled into believing it would fight crime. Thankfully, under the Bush administration, the ban was eventually allowed to expire.

With many liberals in the seat of power today, firearms advocates are again on notice that the fear-mongering will return to Washington.

In some of the proposed bills currently making the rounds in Congress, legislators are seeking to monitor firearms purchases, track the ownership of guns and place heavy restrictions on Americans' right to own firearms.

One of the most frightening bill out there is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales act of 2009 (H.R. 45), sponsored by Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.). According to Gunowner of America, "this bill would require a license for handguns and semiautomatics, including those currently possessed. The applicant must be Thumb-printed and sign a certification that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner's family. The applicant must also make available all of his psychiatric records, pass an exam, and pay a fee of up to $25. The License may be renewed after five years and may be revoked.

"Private sales would be outlawed, and reports to the attorney general of all transactions would be required, even when, as the bill allows, the attorney general determines that a state licensing system is sufficiently draconian to substitute for the federal license. With virtually no exceptions, all firearms transactions (involving semiautos, handguns, long guns, etc.) would be subject to a Brady background check. In addition, the bill would make it unlawful in nearly all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of ‘crimes by omission' ((such as failure to report certain things) would be created. Criminal penalties of up to 10 years ans almost unlimited regulatory and inspection authority would be established."

Another disturbing bill is the Veterans' Heritage Firearms Act of2009 (H.R. 442), sponsored by Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.). This measure would require that veterans who kept "souvenir firearms" such as a machine gun or unregistered pistol whole serving overseas, register them with the government. The otherwise law-abiding veteran would have 90 days to admit to the government that they have the unregistered weapons or would face harassment at the hands of bureaucrats and criminal charges from federal law enforcement.

The Child Gunsafety and Gun Access Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 257), introduced by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Tex.), amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to raise the age of handgun eligibility from 18 to 21 and to prohibit persons under age 21 from possessing a semiautomatic firearm. It also makes it a criminal offense to keep a loaded firearm in a house where a child lives. In other words, the bill criminalizes fathers and mothers who merely want to protect their families from would-be-intruders.

One rather odd bill, the Southwest Border Violence Reduction Act of 2009 (H.R. 495), sponsored by Reps. Ciro Rodrequez (D-Tex.),Henry Cuellar (D-Tex,), Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex.) and Harry Teague (D-N.M.), appropriates $15 million to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to fight illegal trafficking of firearms into Mexico. Of course, these congressmen never explain why U.S. taxpayers should have to pay for a U.S. federal agency to stop the illegal import of guns into Mexico when the government cannot even stop illegal immigrants from sneaking across our border into the United States.

Two positive bills introduced into the House (H.R. 197) and H.R. 1620) would establish national standards for licensing concealed carry firearms.

Another measure, H. Con. Res. 71, states, "the federal government should not create a national database tracking firearm owners or firearm purchases."

H.R. 17 states what should be obvious to everyone but apparently needs repeating: Americans have the right to obtain a firearm for security and to use that firearm "In defense of self, family, or home, and to provide for the enforcement of such right."

According to the National Rifle Association, H.R. 1074, sponsored by Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), is another good bill that would "remove several antiquated and unnecessary restrictions imposed on interstate firearms business since the Gun Control Act of 1968."

Several bills have been introduced into the senate that mirror existing House legislation. This includes S. 371 that standardizes concealed carry reciprocity and S. 371 that standardizes concealed carry reciprocity and S 556, which is complementary to H.R. 1074. There is also Sen. John Ensign's (R-Nev.) S. AMDT. 576, which would overturn onerous gun restrictions placed on resident of the nation's capital.

Other Senate bulls echo the calls for restrictions and should be on the rador of every fair-minded American who believes in the Second amendment. These include sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-Calif.) S. 132, which restricts gun ownership under the auspices of fighting illegal gangs.

SPOTLIGHT ON CONGRESS

Assault On Family, Organic Farms Continues

The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (H.R. 875) continues to make its way up the food chain in Washington. As a result, the measure is receiving more and more scrutiny on the Internet and in alternative media outlets around the country. American Free Press first reported on this bill in the March 30 edition. Since then, the bill, introduced by Rep. DeLauro (D-Conn.), has picked up 41 sponsors and has moved up to the House Agriculture Committee.

There are growing concerns about this legislation - foremost of which is the fact that the bill's author, Mrs. DeLauro, is married to pollster Stanley Greenberg. One of his clients is Monsanto, the leading global producer of genetically modified foods and herbicides.

According to a number of media reports, another dangerous aspect of the bill relates to its vagueness in language, meaning provisions could be interpreted to apply to anyone from the home gardener all the way up to large-scale organic producers. For example, section 206 of the measure refers to"food production facilities," which are defined as "any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard aquiculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation." Federal authorities will have the power to "visit and inspect food production facilities in the United States and in foreign countries to determine if they are operating in compliance with the requirements of the food safety law, review food safety records as required to be kept by the administrator under section 210 and for other food safety purposes; set good pratice standards to protect the public and animal health and promote food safety; conduct monitoring and surveillance of animals, plants, products, or the environment, as appropriate; and collect and maintain information relevant to public health and farm practices."

Any producer of food could then be subjected to federal intrusion on private property to verify that they are following "good practice standards." The rear, of course, is that the standards will be defined by companies like Monsanto, which are intent on forcing farmers to buy its GM seeds and use its chemical on their crops.

SPOTLIGHT ON CONGRESS

Massive Obama Budget Signals America's Move To New Socialist Agenda

Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), who was offered the top post in the Treasury Department by President Obama but declined, has now emerged as one of the white House's fiercest financial critics.

"In the next five years, President Obama's budget will double the national debt; in the next 10 years it will triple the national debt," Gregg said in the Republican's weekly radio address on March 28. "These are staggering numbers and represent an extraordinary move of our government to the left."

Gregg, who is the Senate Budget Committee's ranking Republican member, said the administration's budget will likely bankrupt the United States, adding that the budget wold not even meet the standards for membership in the socialist European Union.

"The Dramatic move to the left and the massive increase in the size and cost of the government, proposed by the budge of President Obama, will lead to an immense national debt that not only threatens the value of the dollar, it also puts at risk our ability to borrow money to run the government," he said.

What is the MIAC?

By Mark Anderson

Although the ultra-left Southern Poverty Law Center is briefly mentioned as a source for a small part of the modern militia movement report of the Missouri Information and Analysis Center (MIAC), the SPLC played no role in writing the anti-right wing report, according to Mike O'Connel, Missouri's communications director for the Department of Public safety.

O'Connell said this report on the supposed reemergence of militias - which implies that anyone against the "New World Order," the privately owned and controlled Federal Reserve, the income tax and other issues potentially could be suspected of militia links or sympathies - was started in July 2008 and completed in January of 2009. He said it was written in-house by MIAC staff.

The MIAC is a component of a growing network of "fusion centers" in Missouri and other states, where all levels of law enforcement commingle funds, personnel and operations. The department of Homeland Security notes:"As of February 2009, there were 58 fusion centers around the country. The department has deployed 31 officers as of December 2008 and plans to have 70 professionals deployed by the end of 2009. The department has provided more than $254 million from FY 2004-2007 to state and local governments to support the centers.

It adds: "The Homeland Security Data Network (HSND), which allows the federal government to move information and intelligence to the states at the secret level, is deployed at 27 fusion centers. Through HSDN, fusion center staff can access the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), a classified portal of the most current terrorism-related information."

The DHS says it has deployed intelligence officers to fusion centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. It has also deployed support to fusion centers in New York City, Los Angeles and the Dallas region.

Many Americans Can't Accept the Truth About 9-11

By Mark Anderson

The news video of Richard Gage's evidence that the twin towers of the World trade Center and a third building there were utterly demolished on 9-11 (AFP, April 6, 2009) in what many say was an inside job using mega-explosives generated 1,171 views in less than four days. But it was the related comments posted on YouTube that exposed a disturbing phenomenon: the servility of human being to accept the "official line."

Many Americans are trapped in a psychological maze; they don't know that they don't know. This ignorance of one's own ignorance is the ultimate ingredient in mastery over people's thought patterns.

The big government-big media system can make many people believe absolutely anything it wants them to believe, no matter how absurd. These unwitting cheer-leaders for all things official are, in an indirect sense, "drafted" to become the most ardent protectors of the official story. They give the big lie of 9-11 the appearance of popular support so more inquiry into the events of that terrible day is avoided; thus, the big lie is reinforced to become another unsolved mystery alongside JFK on Nov. 22, 1963 and other watershed events.

The late novelist Taylor Caldwell was one of a few insightful writers who warned that society will hang its heroes and defend its villains. And with 9-11, we see that ugly tendency. One of the responses to AFP's online 9-11 video was that people like Gage and myself should "move to Iran," and that Gage - an inoffensive guy who calmly and logically examines the evidence of purposeful inside demolition of the three destroyed WTC buildings - must there fore "hate" America.

There were positive and neutral comments as well. But the nasty comments - other remarks not listed here were far worse - reveal that one of the major barriers to free inquiry to find the truth is indeed within oneself, not just within government. It's these everyday people who the establishment cons through its well-honed media. All the government needs to do is announce something, it seems, and, just by saying it, it is accepted as "fact."

We have 110 floors an acre in size each - per WTC twin tower - disappear in clouds of mostly pulverized concrete, and multi-ton beams are shot out horizontally up to 600 feet. We have telltale spheres of once-molten iron and unignited fragments of a 4,500-degree-Fahrenheit incendiary explosive, likely nano-thermate, strewn all over.

But because "the powers that be" and their minions insist that the impacts and fires from the planes which 19alleged hijackers flew into the towers are all that you need to eradicate two skyscrapers that were designed to withstand plane collisions, then the case is "closed," thwarting those who want to start or continue independent probes and make the critical move toward legal action, in order to do a real investigation.

The first inquiry, the 9-11 Commission, was wholly inadequate, producing little more than a plice state with its recommendations for creating the Department of Homeland Security, the Patriot Act, the TSA at airports, and various other bills and bureaucracies that cost billions and increased surveillance on average Americans, even while our borders remain largely open to would-be terrorists and drug cartels.

Defeating National ID in Texas Crucial to Nation

By Mark Anderson

OFTEN OUR "NEWSPAPERS" tell us that Americans want higher taxes
because of their insatiable demand for government services.

That reminds me of a band that plays several George Strait songs in a row while claiming the audience "requested" those songs, even though nobody requested them. The band just has a favored music "agenda."

There is a trash heap near my south-Texas residence for which I made the rare move of actually asking for a government service—requesting that the trash, which started as discarded branches, furniture pieces and even an old console TV, be hauled away because it was heaped along the street in an undesignated area. Soon, the pile included smelly household trash that blew all over the neighborhood.

The pile is still there after nearly two weeks. The problem with my idea of getting a government service is that I asked for it. Silly me; if I was like most people, I would just sit back until the next "service" is forced on me without my knowledge or consent. That is how things get done nowadays—absolute bald-faced force, combined with sly deception, against the people.

Keep in mind that with most heavy issues afflicting America, the citizens are not making requests. No one requested the NAFTA Superhighway, known in Texas as the Trans-Texas Corridor. No Main Street American placed an order for big banks and financial figures to have their butts salvaged by the public. And it's doubtful that regular citizens asked for the 2005 Real ID Act.

The Real ID Act, which was supposed to have been implemented in May 2008, is a federal law that has been beaten back by strong opposition. At least 17 state legislatures have since gone on record with laws and resolutions to oppose it, mainly because they don't want to submit their function of issuing drivers licenses to federal direction. Such submission would result in a nationalized ID card that meets Department of Homeland Security guidelines—all based on 9-11 Commission advice to combat "terror"—so Americans can be identified and tracked like tagged pets, which would be made possible by remotely readable tiny chips embedded in the new national ID cards.

In a classic Soviet-style replay of "Your papers, please," vehicle checkpoints and street cameras would match U.S. citizens with information stashed in databases to snoop on citizens at whim.

Moreover, in Corpus Christi, Texas, police have installed cameras that issue tickets to motorists by detecting the supposed offense, snapping a quick photo of the license plate and mailing the citation to the driver. One fellow Texan told me that a bright flash sometimes goes off when a picture is taken that can startle drivers and could cause an accident.

No one held a petition drive to demand that officials install such cameras. That is today's America: You get what you do not request and do not get what you do request. You are used, not served. Thus, we "elect" our "representatives" who only want the people's "consent" when it comes to voting for who will "serve" in office—assuming that the hackable electronic voting machines have not been rigged.

Almost everything else after election time is on autopilot. But the silver lining with the downtrodden economy is that more people, such as activist Sheila Dean of Austin and others AFP has interviewed, have more time to visit and monitor their state lawmakers and try to get them to stop marching toward a police state.

Another notable anti-Real ID activist, Aaron Bolinger of Pennsylvania, outlines in detail how to write a model law for legislators and tell them on a practical level what you want and stick close to them, lest they fall prey to lobbyists. You literally have to draw them a picture.

In Texas, time is short to defeat Real ID on the state level. The buzz is that the town of Lubbock, the famous home of the late Buddy Holly, which is celebrating its 100th birthday, is where two Republican state representatives reside on opposite sides of the Real ID "fence."

One is Real ID backer Delwin Jones; the other is opponent Carl Isett. Ms. Dean believes they could represent swing votes in the 150-member Texas House in a possible vote on House Bill 4036. If approved, that bill would make the huge Lone Star State a Real ID state. As of April 14, the bill was in the Public Safety Committee. The Texas Legislature meets for just a few months every other year, so this session will expire in late May or early June. The question is if the bill will pass the committee and make it to the House floor, where it could go to the Senate and onward to Gov. Rick Perry. Ms. Dean wants HB 4036 dead.

She doesn't care how it gets dead. She just wants a stake through "Dracula's heart." To her, killing it in committee would be best, but if it must go to the House floor in Austin for a vote, then let's see the roll call so each of these evasive "public servants" can reveal their guarded stances on Real ID. This matter is pivotal nationally, too, since North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia and Utah also are taking action on Real ID. If those states say "no" to it, and if Texas lawmakers agree Real ID is a bad idea, then the number of states opposing Real ID may approach the "tipping point" of 25.

So, fellow lab rats, no matter where you live but especially if you live in Texas, seize the day and ask your lawmakers not to do you the disservice of making your state Real ID-ready. Ask kindly or unkindly that they opt out of Real ID; and remind them this task is best done on the basis of the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, which says that if the Constitution does not assign a given service or function to the federal government, then that function (such as issuing drivers licenses) is left to the states or the people. Notably, in Texas this concept is contained in a resolution, HCR 50, which has Gov. Perry's support.

Editorial: Bilderbergers Are Criminals, Traitors According to U.S. Law

ALL AMERICANS WHO PARTICIPATE in secret Bilderberg meetings are criminals and traitors. The Logan Act expressly forbids U.S. citizens to negotiate public policy with representatives of foreign governments. Thus, American officials and private citizens who participate are lawbreaking criminals.

U.S. and foreign government officials who attend are virtually all traitors because they put their world government goal ahead of the interests of their own nations. They scorn "nationalism" and work for "transnationalism." All Bilderberg "regulars" must support these goals or be ostracized. More than 100 of the 120 or so attendees are "regulars," invited every year. Typically, five or so participants are first-timers. A potential president is likely to be invited once but tossed aside when his political star dims, as former Vice President Dan Quayle can attest.

But you have to support Bilderberg's global agenda to survive. Infrequently, one refuses and is drummed out. In 1989, The Spotlight (AFP's inspiration) reported that British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher attended for the first time, had little to say but objected to demands that she surrender sovereignty to the European Union.

Bilderberg ordered her ouster and Lady Thatcher was replaced as prime minister by a member of her own Conservative Party, a trapeze artist's son named John Major.

AFP's Jim Tucker discussed this with Lady Thatcher in June, 1995. "It is an honor to be denounced by Bilderberg," Lady Thatcher told Tucker. "Anyone who would surrender the sovereignty of their country . . ." her voice trailed off as she shook her head in disgust.

"They are a stuck-up set," she added. Lady Thatcher expressed optimism that Bilderberg would fail to meet its goal of a world government by 2002, a deadline that had been set back from the original target year of 2000. Although she is now in the dimness of Alzheimer's disease, Lady Thatcher's optimism proved justified.

"They said, ‘nationhood should be suppressed,' but there will never be a new world order," she added.

There have probably been a few other lesser-known Bilderbergers ousted for nationalism over the years. But all Bilderberg "regulars" are traitors to their own countries. And American participants are criminals, too.

Members of Congress Working to Curtail Powers of Patriot Act

THERE IS A BIPARTISAN EFFORT AFOOT to rein in federal law enforcement's ability to abuse rules for snooping that were loosened following passage of the Patriot Act in 2001.

Reps. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Jeff Flake (RAriz.) introduced the National Security Letters Reform Act of 2009 (H.R. 1800) in late March to curtail the subpoena power given to law enforcement as a result of National Security Letter (NSL) provisions in the Patriot Act. It immediately picked up 17 cosponsors.

NSLs involve subpoenas, which can be used to demand personal records from Internet companies, financial institutions, credit companies and libraries without prior court approval. Because they are issued in secrecy, do not require a court review and contain a gag order, targets never even know if they have been investigated. The American Civil Liberties Union says it worked with Congress to formulate legislation to reduce the FBI's ability to snoop into Americans' lives.

"To ensure that Americans' privacy and free speech rights are protected, there must be clear oversight and strict guidelines tied to the use of NSLs," said Caroline Fredrickson, director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office. "Mr. Nadler and Mr. Flake should be applauded for taking this legislative step. Their bill will realign the current NSL authority with the Constitution. Congress must take this opportunity to rein in the power of the NSL."

NSLs were supposed to be used only when obtaining information about suspected terrorists, but the Patriot Act expanded the statute to say that the subpoenas can now be used to obtain personal information about people who are identified as "relevant" to an investigation. As a result, the NSLs were wide open to abuse at the hands of federal agents.

Not surprisingly, the Department of Justice's Office of the Inspector General, which has been tasked with watching over its own agents, has admitted in a series of reports that there were "systemic misuse and abuse" of NSLs by FBI agents.

"It has become painfully clear that unchecked Patriot Act power inevitably leads to abuse, and National Security Letters are no exception," said Michelle Richardson, ACLU legislative counsel. "Innocent Americans have been swept into investigations and recipients have been barred from speaking about it publicly."

Big City Papers Continue Financial Freefall

AMERICANS ARE BECOMING BETTER informed —and much less misinformed—as huge, controlled newspapers collapse and the independent media—both print and broadcast—gets tuned up. This reflects a growing realization by the American people that the major media spoon-feeds them establishment pablum instead of real news.

It also has to do with greed. Whereas extremely successful corporations, like Toyota, run on 5 percent profit margins, the big media conglomerates insist on profit margins as high as 40 percent.

Rather than lower their unsustainable profit margins, the big papers lay off reporters, investigators and editors and demand the remaining employees work for less so that outlandish bonuses can continue to be paid to their executives. Some papers have considered getting rid of reporters altogether and picking up their news from Cable News Network (CNN), for instance. This disturbing trend could mean that in the future all mainstream newspapers will get their "news" from one, single source. Think the mainstream news is bad now? Just wait.

Presently, all three major Bilderberg-controlled newspapers are teetering on the brink: The Washington Post, New York Times and Los Angeles Times. All are losing big bucks and readers, and have been forced to diminish the number of pages in their papers and lay off ever larger numbers of employees.

The New York Times and Boston Globe are having a hissy fit because both are falling. The Times bought the Globe in 1993 for $1.1 billion and now threatens to shut it down because it is losing $1.5 million a week. But the Times is $1 billion in debt and owes $250 million to a Mexican financier at 14 percent interest.

The Times ordered the Globe to provide $20 million in concessions from its 13 labor unions by May 1 or risk foreclosure. "This is a populist nightmare for the Times," Tim Graham of the Media Research Center told The Washington Times. "It's always embarrassing when a newspaper that blows passionate kisses at labor unionism develops a financial fever, and suddenly it's caught with its hands around the throat of its own unions."

But the Post has a long history of liberal hypocrisy. For decades, it demonstrated its "liberalism" by championing labor unions—until it got too personal. In the 1970s, its pressmen protested a lapsed contract by chanting and banging on the presses after a Sunday night run. The Post announced that its presses were badly damaged and sent pages by helicopter to small daily newspapers for printing. It was dramatic, and sympathy for the Post and anger at the union reached fever pitch until the maverick Spotlight—shut down by corrupt courts in 2001—exposed the facts.

In those days of "hot metal" printing—before computers—all press rooms looked like they had been shelled by cannon fire after a run; ripped newsprint dangled as the page forms hung open. Spotlight's investigation found the presses could be immediately repaired with a 35-cent gadget from a hardware store, something that has to be replaced infrequently whether or not union men chant. The Post was full of cute tricks, such as calling a hard-working employee's wife and gently asking her to "talk to her husband about sleeping on the job."

Nevertheless, this "champion of organized labor" got rid of its unions. America's distrust of the mainstream media is reflected in a Rasmussen Reports poll of 1,000 citizens. Sixty-one percent of respondents were "confident" that "other news sources" would keep them informed. The American Society of Newspaper Editors dropped the word "newspaper" from its name. They are now the American Society of Editors.

The Tribune Co., owner of the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and six other dailies, has filed for bankruptcy, as has Chicago Sun Times.

Concerned Americans Stock Up on Guns in Fear of Obama

By James P. Tucker Jr.

Gun-grabbers are celebrating a recent spate of insane killings because they believe it will help them impose laws depriving citizens of their Second Amendment rights. They ignore the obvious fact that these monsters would have guns regardless of such laws and only the law-abiding would be disarmed.

Study after study has shown that states that have passed "right-to-carry" laws have had dramatic decreases in violent crimes. Street thugs have no idea which well-tailored male has a handgun or which young lady has a pink pistol in her purse, so the cowards leave them alone.

In a historical oddity, President Barack Obama, who is hysterical in his opposition to the second amendment, has generated a surge in gun sales by being elected to the White House.

Fears that Obama and his Democratic Congress will pass radical anti-gun laws, and concern about civil unrest and increasing street violence, caused a 60 percent increase in gun sales after the November election. An increase of 25 percent followed in December. The usual year-to-year increase is 3 percent, reflecting a population increase.

Sturm, Ruger and Co. Reported a $45 percent increase in orders. Georgia Arms, a large ammunition-sales company, reported a "huge increase in demand" and said shipping times are five to seven weeks behind.

"Obama's been the best gun salesman," Anthony Ball, owner of B&B Pawn of Fredericksburg, Va., told the local Free Lance-Star. "Everybody's scared to death he's going to take away their guns." At the Range, a nearby shooting range, Paul Vincent said, "I'm still waiting on guns I ordered back in December. It's hard to find ammo; it's hard to find the gun you want."

Philip Van Cleave of the Virginia Citizens Defense League said he has seen an increase in every aspect of the firearms business - gun sales, ammo sales and attendance at gun shows. "People have waited hours to get into a gun show," he said. "Normally, you'd be able to get in in a few minutes or just walk in."

Fears that the economy will collapse, resulting in rioting and civil unrest, are spurring gun sales because citizens believe they may have to defend themselves and their home, Van Cleave said. Citizens also fear another terrorist attack - one that may put government services, like police, out of commission. "People by a lot out of fear," Ball said.

Traditionally well-armed Texans are arming even more because of constant violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Immigrants sneaking into this country across the U.S.-Mexican border commit armed robberies, kill cattle to put steaks in their backpacks, dump their garbage and destroy fences for the fun of it.

Gun-grabbers yelp about the fact that illegal immigrants buy guns in the U.S. that fall into the hands of Mexican drug traffickers. But if border laws were properly enforced, those Mexicans would be unable to purchase guns here because they would not be in the United States.

Link Found Between GMOs & Deadly Tuberculosis

This article is from our periodic health supplement which comes with a subscription to American Free Press. You can view this week's issue for free here (PDF).

By Ingrid Blank

Instead of blaming multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis on patients and their alleged non-adherence to the prescribed drug regime, it would be prudent to investigate and eradicate the underlying cause for multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis and other drug and antibiotic resistant infectious diseases first—namely commercial gene technology.

The disaster unfolding on a global scale is exactly the reason why the first genetic engineers called for a moratorium in the Asilomar Declaration of 1975. For decades, reputable and ethical scientists such as Dr. Mae Wan Ho and Prof. Joe Cummins have warned—substantiated by scientific evidence— that horizontal gene transfer, i.e. the transfer of genes by vectors (viruses and other infectious agents) designed to cross species barriers and thus enhancing the potential for creating new viral and bacterial pathogens, will result in the creation of superbugs and multi-drug resistant diseases.

According to these eminent genetic researchers, strains of bacteria "crippled" in the laboratory can survive in the environment and exchange genes with other organisms. DNA from dead and living cells persists in the environment and transfers to other organisms.

Naked viral DNA (virus without its protein coat) is even more infectious and may well be taken up by mammalian cells including our own! In addition, viral DNA has been shown to resist digestion in the gut of mice, and enters the bloodstream to infect white blood cells, spleen and liver cells.

One such virus most commonly used as a promoter in genetic engineering is the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) which, due to its recombination hotspot, is prone to break and join with other DNA to integrate into the cell's genome, which could activate host genes and lead to cancer. In addition, CaMV is closely related to the hepatitis B and HIV virus and due to its ability to propagate in plant and insect hosts after recombination may also recombine with related hepatitis B and HIV to create a most powerful disease in a large number of people consuming large numbers of virus genes incorporated into crop plants.

In the South African setting, the number of people at risk could not get any larger, since our government unilaterally decided without the people's knowledge and above all prior consent, to grow our staple food (white maize) in genetically modified form without adhering to the precautionary principle, thus violating our constitutional rights to healthy food.

For the reasons described above, it is therefore imperative to demand immediate implementation of mandatory labeling of genetically modified food products in compliance with our constitutional rights of informed choice and consent, participation in decision-making processes and above all the individual's right to bodily integrity, the latter being the most significant provision of the Nuremberg Code, which sets forth legal requirements for human experimentation, i.e. "voluntary consent of subject is absolutely essential."

Likewise, the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares bodily integrity central to both human rights and human dignity and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights unmistakably declares that "no one shall be subjected without his free consent to medical or scientific experimentation."

By deliberately ignoring the precautionary principle and refusing to implement mandatory labeling of GM products, this government allows its citizens to be used as guinea pigs, sacrificing the nation's health for corporate greed. There is no such thing as "substantial equivalence."

This phrase was coined by scientifically illiterate lawyers of the biotech industry and in 1992 written into law by G.H.W. Bush, who proclaimed GM plants to be "substantially equivalent" to their traditional counterparts and therefore did not need any special health safety study or testing. Ethical scientists and researchers consider this the biggest farce and fraud ever committed in the science field.

Contrary to what the corporate yarn spinners of biotech companies want the public to believe, not one single human safety study has ever been conducted. One does not need a Ph.D. in genetics to see the correlation between GMOs and the sharp rise in HIV infections and multi-drug resistant tuberculosis and other diseases. The decision-makers who keep violating our human right to bodily integrity by unleashing these toxins into our environment and food chain without our knowledge and consent must be held accountable.

Butter Much Better Than Margarine for Your Overall Health

By Pat Shannan

There seems to be a lot of question about which "healthy" spreads should be used to replace butter. One says, "I can't believe it's not butter." Well, I can. Since the word is finally spreading about the harmful nature of trans fat, margarine has been officially declared as a substance to be avoided. In its place have rushed countless other butter alternatives which do not contain hydrogenated fats. But now that refined vegetable oils, additives and preservatives are coming under fire, it leaves the question what in the world can we spread on our toast? The answer is simple and natural: go back to butter.

Of course, most people balk at the suggestion of eating real butter. After all, won't butter cause heart disease and other frightening health conditions? Although the claim that butter is harmful has been a popular one since World War II, it's an assumption with no foundation. In fact, statistics show the rate of heart disease has increased as butter consumption has decreased.

My doctor believed it. Fifteen years ago, he told me I might as well start smoking as to eat margarine. He was an AMA-educated M.D. who had "gone over the wall" a couple of decades earlier and had begun to use natural remedies and therapies.

Butter is filled with essential vitamins and antioxidants in their most natural and absorbable state. Butter is actually a better source of vitamin A than carrots, especially for people who have trouble converting the beta-carotene in carrots into vitamin A. You can also find vitamin E and selenium in butter. These along with vitamin A actually protect the heart from free-radical damage, which is a factor in weakened arteries. On the other hand, fabricated spreads are filled with rancid and refined vegetable oils that cause free-radical damage.

The vitamin A in butter is a vital nutrient which strongly impacts growth in children. Deficiencies can affect the development of teeth, bones, and vision. Low-fat diets are often recommended for children even though these diets have been linked to a failure to thrive as published in Pediatrics in March of 1994. Low-fat diets which remove butter from children's lives may be cutting out their only source of absorbable vitamin A.

Another common misconception propagated by modern industry is that the fat in butter is bad for us. Butter is comprised of mostly short and medium chain fatty acids. These fatty acids can protect against cancer and boost immunity. They are also antifungal. Short and medium chain fatty acids are also more easily broken down for energy, which means it's actually less likely that the fat in butter will be stored in the body.

The essential nutrients found in butter are not commonly found in other foods that are considered palatable in American society, which makes butter all the more necessary to our health. So many of our foods are manufactured fabrications that can't possibly offer the same health benefits as their natural counterparts. It's time to start choosing the real thing. It's time to bring butter back to the table.

Pat Shannan is a contributing editor to American Free Press newspaper. He has long tried to correct the falsehoods put out by the mainstream medical establishment about natural health alternatives.

Barack Obama's Planned Medical Socialism Puts Big Brother in Charge of Your Health Care

By Victor Thorn

Are you ready to be euthanized? If you're an elderly American, especially one who doesn't walk in lockstep with the New World Order's plans to rid our planet of "useless eaters," you better prepare yourself for this possibility. Although most people aren't aware of it, Barack Obama's February 2009 stimulus bill contained the most draconian legislation this nation has ever seen. Hidden within this 1,000+ page document was health legislation which affects "every individual in the United States."

Obama touted this plan's urgent necessity, but what he really gave us is the first step toward European neosocialism mixed with closed-market British rationing. Add a touch of Orwellian Big Brother collectivism, and it all eventually leads to gulag-style totalitarianism. Developed by Bilderberg & CFR member Tom Daschle in his book Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis, we're now facing another big government takeover that has dire consequences if we ever get sick.

In simplest terms, a new bureaucracy will be formed, headed by a National Coordinator of Health Information Technology. Using a vast computer database which they'd like to have online by 2014; all medical treatments, in addition to other potential details (such as tax records, bank statements, police reports, and "lifestyle choices") will all be tracked electronically. According to BetsyMcCaughey's seminal Feb. 9 article, RuinYour Health with the Obama Stimulus Plan, this "board" will "monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective."

Rather than abiding by the Hippocratic Oath where the safe treatment of each patient takes precedence, this new agency will only proceed with a procedure if there is a distinct payoff for society. This paradigm shift in perspective is where Daschle's worldview becomes horrifying. In his book, he praises Europeans who accept their "hopeless diagnoses." In contrast, he feels Americans still expect too much from the health care system and should instead simply "accept the conditions that come with age."

Writing for Town Hall on February 15, Austin Hill begins, "Welcome to the era of Obama. You now have a duty to die." Since doctors and hospitals will surrender their autonomy to a council of National Coordinators who guide their decisions, Hill describes how "we now have the beginnings of a governmental agency that eventually will, by force of law, determine which persons will be eligible for health care, and what treatment they will receive."

If you're elderly, already sick with a preexisting condition, or have few years left to work, then according to Daschle and Obama's board, you have a "low return on investment," and as such, it's your duty to die. If you refuse to follow these edicts, then bureaucrats get to play God by deciding who should perish by denying medical treatment.

Hill makes it crystal clear. "Once you have lived ‘long enough,' after you have consumed your ‘fair share' of the Earth's resources; and when your combined age and health conditions make it ‘obvious' that further efforts to prolong your life just simply ‘aren't worth it,' you will then have a responsibility to accept these consequences, and to accept that you'll just have to get along without life-sustaining health care."

To ensure that these policies are followed, the bill refers to doctors becoming "meaningful users" who must become part of the system or face losing their license and/or government Medicare contracts. After studying this legislation, journalist Byron Richards discovered that the "quality and type of care will not be determined by the doctor, but rather by a new system of cost containment implemented by the federal government."

As an incentive, the board will give doctors bonuses (i.e. economic blackmail) if they comply with their mandates. Not only will they be encouraged to enter a patient's EHR (Electronic Health Records), but they must also practice the "proper" kind of medicine. Frowned upon will be wholistics, vitamin therapy, alternative procedures, plus new remedies or technologies that drive up costs. Under this plan, the board will issue life-and-death verdicts that politicians can safely stay distanced from. Or, as Daschle recommends, senior citizens will have to accept conditions associated with old age because doctors will no longer be treating them.

To put the magnitude of this legislation into focus, Betsey McCaughey states that our country's largest employer is the health care industry, comprising 17%of GDP. Under Obama's plan, "The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force combined." Fearing a repeat of Hillary Clinton's health care debacle in 1994, Daschle urged the president to sneak this legislation into another bill before any opposition arises, therefore bypassing congressional debate.

Once every American's records are entered into a labyrinthian electronic database, what comes next? Will our DNA samples soon be digitized, followed by computer microchips implanted into our bodies? We've just entered a Brave New World that is terrifying in its reach, intrusiveness and disregard for the sanctity of human life.

Nerve Toxicity of Weed Killer Ignored

By Tom Valentine

Is it anywonder that "health care" is nowthe largest sector of our U.S. economy? Get this, when the EPA assessed the risks related to the widely used "golf course, playground, lawn and garden chemical" 2,4-D it failed to assess nerve toxicity, mutagenicity and endocrine disruption effects as well as well-known effects on frogs.

Additionally, according to a petition in November from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), an advocacy group, the EPA also failed to consider infant exposure to the chemical via breast milk, and also overlooked data showing that alcohol consumption, sunscreen and the insect repellent DEET all enhance absorption of the toxin through the skin.

Evidently the government agency charged with keeping our environment healthy is fully aware that chronic disease statistics are good for the economy.

This common chemical is the same one Canadians have banned only to bring lawsuits from Dow- AgriChemical in the name of NAFTA, which True Health reported in the last issue (Nov/Dec 2008). According to Chemical & Engineering News about 46 million pounds of 2,4-D is used every year in the U.S., making it the third most widely used herbicide in North America.

About two-thirds of it is used on wheat, corn and soybeans the remainder is sprayed on golf courses, football fields, playgrounds and lawns, the NRDC said.

There are less toxic and more effective herbicides available, the NRDC pointed out when petitioning EPA for a ban, "but 2,4-D remains popular because of its lower cost."

Yes indeed, save money and spread poison. We must maintain the health care economy.

GM Corn Crop Failure Devastates South Africa

By Christopher J. Petherick

Nearly 200,000 acres of genetically modified (GM) corn grown in South Africa failed to produce this year, leaving farmers angry and without income. The seeds for the three types of corn, which were reportedly only grown in South Africa, were developed in laboratories by Monsanto, the largest producer of GM crops in the world.

And while the multinational corporation has been forced to reimburse farmers $42 million for losses they suffered as a result of the crop failure, the fiasco speaks of larger issues surrounding food that has been created in laboratories and is controlled by a single corporation.

Monsanto's vice president for investor relations Scarlett Foster tried to downplay the failure, saying that the three Frankenfood "hybrids" had produced "less than optimal amounts of pollen." However, Ms. Foster's claimthat the failures were only seen on a fraction of the millions of acres of Monsanto corn that had been planted was of little consolation to the 1,100 South African farmers who relied on the crop for their income.

According to Monsanto's marketing materials, its scientists "use breeding techniques and technology tools such as genomics, crop analytics, and molecular breeding, commonly known as marker-assisted breeding, to unlock the yield potential within the seed." In other words, they try to boost the amount of corn the plants produce and add elements to the crops that make them immune to pesticides and herbicides manufactured by the company. The seeds are then patented, sold for huge profits and sown by farmers in millions of acres around the world.

The trouble is, no one really knows if food that has been tinkered with on a genetic level in a laboratory is even safe for human consumption. In the March 2 & 9 edition of Whole Body Health, a study by Austrian researchers found that female rats fed exclusively on GM corn suffered lower fertility rates, stunted organ development and poor weight gain.

The most recent failure of Monsanto corn in South Africa also smacks of a larger problem associated with GM foods, namely the folly of relying on one crop that is exclusively made in a laboratory. The growing number of factory farms that depend on a monoculture—the growing of only one crop for cash—means that the failure of that one harvest can be catastrophic for the farmer.

But there is also a larger issue at stake here, namely the notion of one corporation controlling the production of food around the world. And asMonsanto continues to corner the market on food globally, one corporate board will soon have the ability to orchestrate feasts and famine as they see fit anywhere—from Africa to North America.

Environmental activist Marian Mayet, the director of the Africa-center for biosecurity in Johannesburg, told a South African news outlet thatMonsanto is doing everything it can to whitewash the extent of the crop failures. Some farms, she said, suffered up to 80 percent crop failures, which was devastating to them. Did Monsanto have a broader agenda to possibly test manufactured crop failures?

"Monsanto says they just made a mistake in the laboratory, however we say that biotechnology is a failure," Ms. Mayet said. "You cannot make a ‘mistake' with three different varieties of corn."

Vitamin B-3 Battles Alzheimers

By Jack Phillips

Research at the University of California at Irvine, by Dr. Kim Green, promises to revolutionize the treatment of Alzheimer's disease patients, if the results he achieved with mice can be duplicated in people. He found that adding the human equivalent of 2 to 3 grams of niacinamide, a form of vitamin B-3, to the diet of mice with Alzheimer's disease for four months cured them. The mice performed on memory tests as if they didn't have the disease. The vitamin not only protected their brains from memory loss, it restored their ability to remember new things. Dr. Green also found that the vitamin improved memory in normal mice.

Over 5 million Americans are reported to have this devastating disease and over 14 million are expected to have it by 2050.Worldwide it affects 26 million people and this total is expected to rise to 100 million in 2050. Consequently Dr. Green's discovery, if confirmed, can substantially benefit a great many people as well as providing a major reduction in societal costs. It is encouraging that another Alzheimer's disease study reported, in 2004, that high levels of dietary niacin protected against Alzheimer's disease.

This is not the first time that vitamin B-3 has come to the rescue of suffering humanity. Early last century it was found to be the cure for pellagra, a dietary deficiency disease which causes psychiatric problems. When our government mandated the addition of niacinamide to flour, pellagra ceased to be an important medical problem. About 10% of the inmates in many insane asylums were able to leave as cured. As medical science advanced, this same vitamin was found to be useful for the treatment of other diseases.

Dr. William Kauffman's research in the 1930s discovered that it was useful in the treatment of some of the physical and mental problems of "normal aging," including arthritis and depression. He believed that everyone should be taking 1,500 to 4,000 milligrams per day (mg/D) of niacinamide in 250 mg doses spread throughout each day. Dr. Abram Hoffer in the 1950s discovered that niacin and niacinamide were useful in the cure of schizophrenia. He believes that if everyone took 3000 mg/D of B-3 there would be fewer people with mental illnesses. The Life Extension Foundation suggests that there are many choices of drugs and supplements available for treating the oxidative stress and inflammations said to be important forAlzheimer's disease and early dementia. patients. Niacin, at up to 800 mg/D, is among them. They advise against high doses of nicotinic acid (1.5 to 5 gm/D) if you have liver dysfunction, unexplained elevated serum aminotransferase, a peptic ulcer, arterial bleeding or if you consume large amounts of alcohol. They also suggest consulting your physician if you have diabetes, or a history of jaundice, peptic ulcer disease, gastritis, diseases of the liver and bile ducts, gout, kidney dysfunction or heart disease.

Niacin,AKA nicotinic acid, frequently causes flushing which tends to diminish with continued use of the vitamin. Niacinamide, another form of B-3 does not cause flushing. There are many other side effects associated with high doses of nicotinic acid such as palpitations, shortness of breath, blurred vision, etc. However reports of deaths from taking this vitamin appear to be lacking.

Vaccine Act Shields Big-Pharma

Congress makes it impossible to hold vaccine makers accountable

By Jon Hood

The Third Circuit ruled in late March that children who allege injuries caused by vaccines can't pursue design defect claims, since Congress explicitly prohibited such suits in an attempt to shield manufacturers from liability. The decision, announced in Bruesewitz v.Wyeth Home Products Corp., is at odds with a previous state court decision, signaling that the issue may eventually find itself before the Supreme Court.

The court granted summary judgment to defendant Wyeth laboratories, ruling that the immunity written into the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act preempts all design defect claims. Essentially, the court held that Congress's pronouncement, as federal law, bars state suits predicated on defective design.

In 2008, however, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that manufacturers are only immune from design liability if the vaccine is shown to be "unavoidably unsafe." That case, American Home Products Corp. v. Ferrari, said that design defect cases would thus require individual hearings to determine if the injury could have been prevented. The Ferrari case is currently before the Supreme Court on certiorari, and a direct circuit split may offer the high court incentive to hear it.

The Vaccine Act provides that manufacturers are immune from suits dealing with "side effects that were unavoidable even though the vaccine was properly prepared and was accompanied by proper directions and warnings." The problem, according to Third Circuit Judge D. Brooks Smith, is that "unavoidable," the key word in this phrase, is not defined in the Act.

Looking to Congressional intent, Judge Smith pointed out that under the Ferrari analysis, all design defect claims will be entitled to an initial hearing on whether the problem was "unavoidable."According to Smith, this "construction is contrary to the structure of theAct because it doesn't bar design defect claims.

Last month, in a similar case, the Supreme Court held that suits alleging that manufacturers failed to warn of possible dangers were not preempted.

The suit was brought by the parents of 17-year-old Hannah Bruesewitz, who alleged that DPT shots were responsible for her residual seizure disorder and serious developmental delay. DPT is a combination of three vaccines used to inoculate against whooping cough, tetanus, and diphtheria, an upper respiratory tract illness. Bruesewitz received three DPT shots within six months of her birth, and subsequently suffered a string of seizures.

A British study commissioned in the 1980s showed that 1 in 140,000 doses of DPT lead to neurological problems including seizures, decreased consciousness, or brain disease. In serious cases, the reactions can be fatal. Bruesewitz's parents alleged that a Congressional report discovered two deaths and 66 serious injuries resulting from the vaccine.

Secret Vaccine Court Hides Big Payoffs from Public

By Ralph Forbes

AFP has fearlessly reported on the overwhelming evidence that vaccines are dangerous and ineffective—and in particular mercury is implicated as a primary cause for the epidemic of autism. The Establishment media did hooplas and danced for joy trumpeting what they called the "good news"—"Court Rules Mercury Does Not Cause Autism."

To protect the big pharmaceutical manufacturers of vaccines from lawsuits that would bankrupt them, Congress passed a law forbidding the parents of children killed or harmed by vaccines from suing the pharmaceutical giants. However, victims can sue in a secret court ("the Vaccine Court") and damages will be paid by the U.S. taxpayer. So when actress JennyMcCarthy's son developed autism, she sued in the mysterious Vaccine Court created in 1986 by the pharmaceutical industry, with the support of Congress. It ruled against her—and the media exploded with joy. Look at their ads. If Big Pharma went bankrupt, who would finance the Establishment "News" Hours?

This same media was strangely silent when the court case of Bailey Banks vs. Health and Human Services was unsealed. (The media also failed to report the case of Hannah Poling, or give it the headlines it was due, when the court found in her favor and awarded her family compensation because of the overwhelming evidence showing vaccines caused her autism.)

The ruling states, "The Court found that Bailey would not have suffered this delay but for the administration of the MMR [mumps-measles-rubella] vaccine. . . a proximate sequence of cause and effect leading inexorably from vaccination to PDD [Autism]."

"It was heartbreaking to hear about Bailey's story, but through this ruling we are gaining the proof we need to open the eyes of the world to the fact that vaccines do, in fact, cause autism," said Jenny McCarthy. "Bailey Banks' regression into autism after vaccination is the same story I went through with my own son and the same story I have heard from thousands of mothers and fathers around the country. Our hope is that this ruling will influence decision- and policy-makers to help the hundreds of thousands of children and families affected by this terrible condition."

Ms. McCarthy was outraged by what she called the curious and hypocritical method of operation of the secret Vaccine Court that not only protects vaccine makers from liability but supports a policy that has tripled the number of vaccines given to U.S. children— all after being made aware of the fact that these vaccines do, in fact, cause autism and repeatedly ruling in favor of families with children hurt by their vaccines.

McCarthy and tens of thousands of other parents want to know why is a secret court, which no one knows about or understands, quietly paying these families for vaccine injuries and autism—and hiding it from the general public? Deirdre Imus, Generation Rescue board member and founder of the Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology says, "Over the past 20 years, the vaccine court has dispensed close to $2 billion in compensation to families whose children were injured or killed by a vaccine."

Most Americans don't even know about this secret court—or why their own children might have physical and/or mental problems caused by excessive use of dangerous vaccines. If they knew how many court cases would have been filed or how much money has been paid out to victims, families might proceed in a different direction, i.e., sue the vaccine makers and pharmaceutical industry into bankruptcy.

The good news is that AFP has reported miraculous cures of "incurable" autism with good nutrition and detoxification of mercury and other harmful substances. Ms. McCarthy said that her son is now free of all symptoms of his former autism—due to good nutrition, detoxification and, of course, "lots of love." But love is not enough. The healing process is hard work. The best thing is to remove the cause. She and her pediatrician are outraged that the establishment medical monopoly refuses to look honestly at the evidence again mercury poison in vaccines and children, like her son, who have been cured of "incurable" autism.
