Constitution ‘Suspended' on Mexican Border

Returning to his home in Tempe, Ariz., Pastor Steve Anderson refused to allow a search of his automobile by Border Patrol guards when he was stopped on April 14 at a routine check point on Interstate-8. Not willing to submit to the increased harassment of law-abiding Americans by so-called law enforcement, Anderson says he was merely standing up for his right to be protected against unreasonable search without a warrant.

After being held at the scene for an hour while awaiting the arrival of state police, Anderson saw his car windows cracked opened by officers who proceeded to smash his face into the broken glass before dragging him from the car. He was then tasered multiple times. According to Anderson, the cops ground his face into the asphalt with their boots. He was taken to jail for the night.

Border Patrol officers later claimed that their drug-sniffing dog had detected either drugs or a person hiding in Anderson's trunk and that this was sufficient "probable cause" for the search following the stop. No grounds for the initial stop were cited, and no contraband was discovered.

The incident highlights tension between constitutional rights, the issue of border security and a controversial Supreme Court ruling that grants an exceptional level of police authority near the Mexican border. Following his release the next morning, Pastor Anderson returned to Tempe and immediately taped a 5- minute video report telling his side of the story and posted it on the Internet.

"I was in the United States. I had crossed no international border." said Anderson in his video commentary. "I didn't have any drugs; I didn't have any human beings in my car," he said. "Why is this happening in the United States of America?"

A Border Patrol spokesman, however, told newsmen that Anderson misunderstood his constitutional rights and that because a drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to Anderson's rental car, the pastor was wrong not to allow the agents to search his vehicle.

Ben Vik, a supervisory Border Patrol agent for the Yuma sector, further said that the Supreme Court and federal law permit the Border Patrol to establish checkpoints up to 100 miles inside the U.S. and that with probable cause the Fourth Amendment doesn't apply to searches of automobiles. But Tempe is 120 miles from the Mexican border.

"The Supreme Court found that only minimal intrusion existed to motorists at reasonably located checkpoints," said Vik. "The Supreme Court found that the very brief detention of motorists at a well-marked and identified immigration checkpoint did not constitute an unreasonable search and seizure."

Vik's statement, however, doesn't apply to typical law enforcement agencies, but—thanks to a controversial ruling—only to "immigration" checkpoints established by the Border Patrol.

The courts have typically ruled against "suspicion-less" stops and searches of vehicles at police checkpoints, such as the one that detained Anderson. As recently as 2000, the Supreme Court ruled in Indianapolis vs. Edmond that police cannot establish roadblocks staffed by dogs to randomly search automobiles for drugs.

"We have never approved a checkpoint program whose primary purpose was to detect evidence of ordinary criminal wrongdoing," the Supreme Court majority wrote. "The Indianapolis checkpoints violate the Fourth Amendment."

The 1976 United States vs. Martinez-Fuerte decision, however, created an exception allowing the Border Patrol the unique power to establish checkpoints for seeking illegal immigrants, with the secondary purpose of finding drugs. So while Yuma-area police cannot operate a K-9 (drug-detecting dog) checkpoint without violating the Fourth Amendment, the Border Patrol can.

"Border Patrol immigration checkpoints don't give Border Patrol agents carte blanche to automatically search persons or their vehicles," Vik explained. "To conduct a legal search under the Fourth Amendment, agents must develop a probable cause to conduct a lawful search."

However, in Anderson's case, the pastor claims the K-9 dog made no bark or indication that his rental car was tainted with drugs, while Vik insisted later that the dog did alert agents to drugs, thus granting probable cause for the search. Anderson suggested in his video report that this probable cause was "developed" by officers' fabrications, became a mere excuse by the agents to proceed and that they refused to return with the dog to prove their point.

As for the tasering and other alleged rough treatment by police, Vik gave a "don't blame us" retort, saying Anderson was extracted from his car and arrested by Arizona Department of Public Safety officers, not the Border Patrol, a statement Anderson confirms. Graham Boyd, director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Drug Law Reform Project in Santa Cruz, Calif., told the Phoenix New Times that an immigration checkpoint is thin justification for sniffing random cars for drugs without a warrant.

"Even if somebody has no sympathy for a marijuana user," Boyd says, "you should still be concerned that the U.S. government is saying the border is an area where the U.S. Constitution is suspended."

Senior Patrol Agent Vik said that even in the checkpoints, citizens do maintain certain rights limiting officers' actions. Both Anderson and Vik confirm that no contraband was discovered on the vehicle. Arizona authorities told AFP that an investigation into the officers' actions is ongoing and no comment can be made until it is complete.

Minnesota Looks to Oust Bad Judges  

Legislators say they'll impeach, remove questionable judges

In response to dozens of petitions by the citizens of Minnesota, an ad hoc committee has been scheduled to hear the evidence of the corruption within the Minnesota judicial branch.

The ad hoc committee was formed because the chairmen of the Senate and House committees that oversee matters of the judiciary have refused to hear the citizen petitions.

The evidence given to the ad hoc committee is massive and includes transcripts being altered, bribery, extortion, denial of access to the grand jury and numerous felonies by certain district and appellate court judges. Bills of impeachment against many judges will be brought.

Never before in the history of the state of Minnesota, and perhaps the nation, have the legislative committees charged with overseeing the matters in the judiciary refused to listen to the evidence of crimes being committed by judges.

Article Six, Section Nine of the Minnesota Constitution clearly shows it is the intent of the people for the legislature to discipline the judicial branch. The courageous legislators who have agreed to participate in the ad hoc committee number over a dozen and more are joining as citizens from across the state meet with their legislators.

Tea Party Rallies Target Long List of Grievances

The "tea parties" across the country April 15 foreshadowed complemented the End the Fed rallies on April 25, as Americans in ever-larger numbers show their unrest and express their views on what's wrong with America. But actually fixing this crippled nation is where things get tricky and extremely daunting.

These ongoing End the Fed rallies—which kicked off last November at 39 Federal Reserve Bank locations— bring needed focus to an overall movement that otherwise may fling its "arrows of unrest" a thousand different directions without enough of them hitting in any one spot to bring the profound and lasting change that everyone seeks. Above all, we must grasp that the privately owned and controlled Federal Reserve System is the real ruler— the conqueror—of the former republic, meaning that it is the head of the United States Empire. The visible ruler is Ben Bernanke, although he takes orders from the international Rothschild empire.

Having attended the McAllen, Tex. tea party where 1,100 people vented their views and held signs about every issue except the Fed—and having received reports and speech copies from several other tea parties, including the one in San Antonio where more than 10,000 gathered by the Alamo—it's clear that ending the Fed is on the tea party "menu" but is only an "appetizer" in most locales. But thanks to the End the Fed rallies, the need to speak in unison, name our conqueror and seek his peaceful demise won't be crushed under our own feet as we "storm the Bastille" with dozens of pet issues.

In McAllen, timeworn arguments about America sliding into socialism were raised which, while not inaccurate, are misleading. The implication is that now that Democrat Obama is president, socialism will engulf us.

However, Obama would just continue what his Republican and Democratic predecessors already started long ago—which is a certain species of socialism on the installment plan, going back to the New Deal in the early 1930s. From there, we had Social Security; LBJ's Great Society with Medicare; urban renewal; a mushrooming of federal agencies and controls during the Nixon years; drastically increased spending and a skyrocketing national debt under Reagan and Bush the Elder; "community service" plans and corporate welfare under Clinton and Bush the Younger; and a continuation of community service (forced labor disguised as charity) and still more Wall Street welfare under Obama. And "Dubya" Bush was the undisputed champ of erecting the surveillance state.

An AMERICAN FREE PRESS associate who attended the Kalamazoo, Mich., rally April 15 said it was much the same—a thin glaze of ending the Fed amid larger complaints that Washington's ever-growing $3.6 trillion budget is "wasteful" and "spends too much taxpayer money," and "where are our jobs?" and "stop the socialism" and so on: Legitimate concerns but central culprits are not named.

Nor could the Kalamazoo gathering of more than 1,500 concerned citizens get even the temporary attention of southwest Michigan Rep. Fred Upton (R), one of those non-household names on Capitol Hill. He has been helping himself to the perks and prestige of the office since 1986. He dropped his former newspaper column in the early 1990s while cutting any other meaningful connection to the public at-large. Not that Upton wasn't nearby on April 15; it's just that this Republican heir to the Whirlpool Corporation throne found it better to visit a Kalamazoo senior citizen center near the rally, upholding his practice of "buying votes" at safe appearances with select audiences, while making socialistic promises that are just as much at home with Republicans as they are with Democrats.

"Full-service Fred" is a supreme example of the fact that socialism—whether it's for the rich or the poor, or whether it leans toward endless welfare or endless warfare or both—is the favored narcotic of both dominant parties.

At San Antonio's tea party, leading Trans-Texas Corridor opponent Terri Hall kept the focus on the NAFTA superhighway (TTC) master plan and the related effort to toll freeways and eliminate them as competition to a proposed tollway grid that would seize up to 600,000 acres in Texas with land-grabbing eminent domain laws. Alongside visiting Michigan rocker Ted Nugent in front of the Alamo—where TV commentator Glenn Beck broadcast his show that afternoon—Ms. Hall showed that Texas has grassroots concerns with national implications.

If the TTC takes root, it has branches such as TTC-69 that would take it up to Michigan, entering Canada at Port Huron. But some maps show that Interstate 94 could be expanded to become a NAFTA connecting route toward Illinois, leading the artery right through southwest Michigan, including the "People's Republic of Fred Upton."

What would flow along this artery? More Chinese goods, of course, which illustrates that besides the Federal Reserve's private, for-profit monetary system that in 1913 overthrew our "commonwealth" and the idea of shared abundance intended in our Constitution, international trade is the other central culprit not being loudly named at these tea parties.

Ms. Hall stated: "The TTC-69 will connect the Mexican border with the Gulf of Mexico coastline, Houston and major industrial and logistics centers in Texas with the north of the country," quoting ACS of Spain, the winning bidder in the state-federal plan to allow for-profit foreign corporations to convert existing Texas routes into toll ways and build new tollways, which is the shape of things to come nationally.

"North of the country" means upward to Canada. TTC-69 and many other tentacles of the NAFTA highway fan out across the nation and arrive at either Canada or to connecting routes that end up there.

Ultimately, this trade scheme to bring even more Asian goods to America through Mexican-Pacific ports, possibly bypassing our Long Beach and Los Angeles ports, would remove our highways from public control. We must retain our freeways and avoid heavy tolling for the profit of select corporations who get no-bid contracts.

Yet, in this big, unsettling picture emerge the two main culprits: The Federal Reserve System, which in 1913 conquered (but did not vanquish) America by separating the crucial sovereign function of creating and issuing money from the other three branches of government; and free trade, which is a scam that undermines American sovereignty and self-reliance and moves our productive capacity to other nations, which depletes local, state and national treasuries of revenue and robs the people of their livelihoods—all so an oppressive world economic system can be inaugurated and consolidated.

Naming the true culprits of our decline is where we must begin. What are the first two steps? Audit the Federal Reserve, and place tariffs on all imports. Please visit your congressman steadily, including "Full Service Fred" and the other 434 House members who have the power but not the will, to enact tariffs and sack the Fed. Due to increasing concerns that the corporate media is using a false left-right paradigm to contain the tea party movement, and perhaps even hijack it, writer Harold Gray noted: "The usurpers are now corralling this new group of truth seekers."

He added: "We have the . . . verifiable government documents to show the . . . goals of the new world order. So now is the time to . . . begin reaching out to these new minds before they get duped into the false revolution being perpetuated by the mainstream media."

Moreover, there is growing evidence the FBI has been spying on tea partiers and related activists.

Failure of U.S. Economic System Could Mean End to ‘Outsourcing'

The U.S. economy is now in a deflationary spiral caused by dumping of cheap foreign goods without equal export of U.S. goods; the deflation was triggered when construction of houses had to be terminated. These matters and the reason outsourcing must be terminated will be discussed.

Outsourcing of goods and services and their subsequent sale or dumping in the U.S. market involves many corporations. Wal-Mart is one that everyone knows. In the discussion here, goods and services are referred to simply as goods and the transnational corporations selling goods in the U.S. from outsourcing are referred to as dumpers.

Goods of value X, for example those resulting from a trade deficit, when dumped into the U.S. economy would cause deflation unless some workers are paid money X to buy the goods. (In 2007 the U.S. trade deficit was $815 billion.) Then supply and demand would be equal. Deflation is a situation where all goods cannot be sold because consumers do not have enough money; prices of unsold goods such as autos and houses would fall in an attempt to recover the costs of production.

The needed demand X was produced when the banks temporarily created money out of thin air by fractional reserve banking to fund construction of houses which were then sold on credit. The resulting mortgages were sold to Wall Street or to one of the government-supported enterprises, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, where they were bundled and sold as mortgage backed securities.

Thus the banks got paid cash to nullify the short-term money they created; they then repeated the process. The mortgage-backed securities were sold by Wall Street, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to investors worldwide who paid with dollars backed by physical savings.

In essence those investors were the ones financing the construction of houses to supply the needed demand X. Naturally, this did not produce inflation at that time. Junky corporate bonds were also bundled and sold as collateralized default obligations, CDOs. Incredible greed drove the mortgage business and Wall Street. Subprime mortgages resulted when houses were sold to unqualified buyers. Prime mortgages resulted when houses bought for $300,000 two years prior were refinanced for $900,000. A housing bubble was produced.

Inevitable defaults on the mortgages and difficulty selling the bundles forced Wall Street to call a halt. Wall Street, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the banks were left holding a bag of mortgages they could not unload. Adequate reserves did not exist so the banks went bust. (The resulting financial crisis will not to be discussed here).

Banks had to stop making construction loans to build more houses in 2008. Construction workers were laid off and the prior demand which supported dumping vanished quickly. A deflationary spiral began to produce a glut of unsold autos, houses, etc. Prices could not be lowered enough to permit supply and demand to become equal.

Swine Flu Hogwash

Dr. Ron Paul Says ‘Flu Hype' Designed To Scare Americans

An international businessman who performs major work for the Department of Health and Human Services told AFP that fear mongering by Washington and the World Health Organization about swine flu is an attempt to scare people into allowing global control of the healthcare system.

From 300,000 to 500,000 cases of flu are reported in the United States each year and 30,000 to 40,000 die, he pointed out. At the moment of this interview, 100 cases of the flu variant called "swine" had been reported. Yet, all of the major newspapers and news broadcasts breathlessly report on the "swine flu pandemic" to the virtual exclusion of other developments throughout the world.

Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Janet Napolitano, Department of Homeland Security flack, take the absurd position that the United States is under a dire threat of a swine flu epidemic but Mexicans, legal and illegal, should continue to be welcomed as they cross the border into this country. The swine flu outbreak originated in Mexico City, with 2,000 cases so far.

But the public hysteria continues, with some wise dissent. "I am outraged . . . It's an evil political maneuver . . . blatant advertising efforts to panic the people into taking swine flu shots . . . those who were responsible should be held morally accountable to the American public," said Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), M.D.

The swine flu pandemic has knocked the bad news of the economy and the torture scandals off the front pages. Talking heads repeat the official line—"We have no real answers"—of the latest swine flu scare, but the real news is what the establishment news media fails to tell you— or quickly kills if it leaks out.

"How did it start in Mexico, where did it emanate from? We've been able to find that out in all previous pandemics. The question now is to get at the heart of how this started—did it start from the occasion of viruses coming together or did it come out of a lab? All those questions have to be answered"—Ret. Army General Russell Honor? on CNN.

Why was the initial epicenter of this flu attack in sunny Mexico, long after the seasonal influence was over? How did at least four different varieties of swine, avian and human flu viruses—from four different parts of the world, North America, Asia and Europe—all travel to Mexico and unnaturally reassert their genetic sequences into a mysterious recombinant chimera?

"This strain of swine influenza that's been cultured in a laboratory is something that's not been seen anywhere actually in the United States and the world, so this is actually a new strain of influenza that's been identified," said Dr. John Carlo, Dallas County medical director.

This interview revealing "cultured in a lab" was buried in the Memory Hole under a tidal wave of "it's a mystery" experts, disinformation and planted nonsense. "Cultured in a lab" solves a lot of mysteries.

Why does the H5N1 virus subtype—in nature a benign, commonplace virus which most birds carry with no harm to themselves or humans—suddenly become a virulent killer? Many say this mis-named "Spanish flu" (really the "Kansas flu") was an artificially created variant of H1N1. It killed some 50 million to 100 million people worldwide from 1918 to 1919.

This Kansas Killer was extinct in the wild—until Jeffery Taubenberger of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology dug up pathological specimens so that germ warfare specialists could experiment, using recombinant DNA techniques to insert the lethal genome into countless mixes of viruses.

Why does this so-called "swine virus" primarily kill young, healthy adults—much like the deadly "Spanish flu" of 1918, with the unnatural phenomenon known as cytokine storm? Natural influenza strains produce the worst symptoms in young children, elderly adults, and others with weaker immune systems.

Why has Baxter International Inc. been chosen to head up efforts to produce a vaccine for the Mexican swine flu? In December 2008 Baxter International Inc. was caught shipping live avian flu viruses mixed with vaccine material to medical distributors in 18 countries, including Germany, Austria, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

Why are Bilderbergers, such as former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, George Shultz, Lodewijk J.R. de Vink, et al., "lucky" enough to invest in Roche, the manufacturer of Tamiflu vaccine, which the media is touting as the way to save your life if infected with the mystery virus?

Why has there been an epidemic of bizarre deaths among some 80 of the top microbiologists—including David Kelly, who was "suicided" for blowing the whistle on the lies used by the neo-cons to start the war against Iraq—since the recent surge in weaponizing the deadly "Spanish flu" genome?

Inconsistencies Arise in CFO Suicide Story

Reminiscent of the ongoing microbiologist body count that AMERICAN FREE PRESS has reported on, a new wave of suicides is plaguing the financial industry, culminating in the recent death of Freddie Mac CFO David Kellermann.

The 41-year-old husband and father, described as having a life-of-the-party personality, was found dead in the basement of his $900,000 Vienna, Va. home at 4:48 a.m. on April 22. Initially, a law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity told the Associated Press that Kellermann hanged himself.'

Other news agencies ran with this account, but then Sabrina Rock, a Fairfax County police spokesman, confirmed to the AP that Kellermann was dead, but she could not confirm that he committed suicide despite WUSA reporting that Fairfax police told them it was suicide.

Stranger yet, police spokesman Lucy Caldwell told All Headline News editor Linda Young via telephone on April 22 that "other people were present at the home at the time of Kellermann's death, and that there was a gun and a gunshot wound."

If true, this final variable is explosive for one obvious reason. How often does a suicide victim hang himself, then shoot himself; or shoot himself first, then hang himself? Considering these conflicting accounts, conspiracy theorists almost immediately began speculating.

Some compared this scenario to the murder of Vince Foster; while others claimed Kellermann became a fall guy for Sen. Christopher Dodd, Rep. Barney Frank, or the architects behind Barack Obama's economic plan.

To determine whether this conjecture is valid, first examine Kellermann's role at Freddie Mac. Employed at this government-sponsored mortgage firm since 1992, Kellermann served as a financial analyst, principal accounting officer, corporate controller, senior vice president, and was then finally promoted to CFO in September 2008. Loyal, driven, and working strenuously long hours, he typified the ultimate "company man."

Unfortunately, Freddie Mac came to be recognized as a primary catalyst for the ill-fated housing bubble's collapse where perilously risky loans led to record-setting defaults. Matthew Barakat and Alan Zibel of the Associated Press noted on April 23 that "the company lost $50 billion last year, and the Treasury Department has pumped in $45 billion to keep the company afloat."

To make matters worse, Freddie Mac is the subject of federal investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as the Justice Department. The focus of their probes revolved around the accounting practices used for their 13 million mortgages. With serious doubts surfacing about the validity of Obama's Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have come under increased scrutiny; especially since, as Christine Seib of the Times UK wrote in April 22, they "lend or guarantee half of America's $12 trillion mortgage market."

The stress at Freddie Mac became so pronounced that Barakat and Zibel reported, "Last month, David Moffett, the government-appointed chief executive, resigned in frustration over strict oversight." To complicate matters, the public's fury over CEO bonuses directly affected Kellermann. CNBC on-air editor Charlie Gasparino summarized the situation on April 22.

"In March, Kellermann was one of a handful of senior Freddie Mac people to have received a bonus, in his case $850,000, which prompted criticism and outrage."

The blowback alarmed Kellermann, as Clusterstock editor Joe Weisenthal documents. "Reporters and camera crews showed up at his home in an affluent Washington suburb. Fearing that someone might attack his house, his wife or their five-year-old daughter, he asked the company to provide a security detail."

The question remains: what was Kellermann's role in Freddie Mac's meltdown? Being a key insider with access to highly sensitive material, did he help facilitate the accounting gimmicks that brought about his company's demise? Or, could Kellermann have been one of the good guys who refused to perpetrate this ruse being foisted on American taxpayers? To his credit, Barakat and Zibel indicate that "Kellermann was neither a target nor a subject of the [U.S. Attorney's] investigation, and had not been under law enforcement scrutiny."

Freddie Mac had been subpoenaed, however, for documents relating to its accounting and disclosure improprieties. Was the entire house of cards beginning to crumble, and instead of covering it up, Kellermann instead intended to come clean? What makes this matter suspicious is that only one day prior to his death, the Associated Press reported on April 23 that "a human resources officer met with Kellermann and told him he needed a break because he had been working so hard."

Faced with a much-needed vacation to spend time with his wife and daughter, why would Kellermann suddenly choose to kill himself? Or, was Freddie Mac clandestinely trying to push their top executive out the door in a roundabout way?

The most pressing issue on the table at this time was Freddie Mac's first-quarter financial reports, which Kellermann proposed to release at the end of May. Matters became extremely complicated because "Freddie Mac executives recently battled with federal regulators over whether to disclose potential losses on mortgage securities tied to the Obama administration's housing plan" (Zibel & Barakat, April 22).

The crux of this subject is now apparent. A massive battle ensued between federal regulators who were trying to cover up catastrophic economic news, and those who refused to further cook the books. Zachary Goldfarb and Jonathan Mummolo of the Washington Post provided an invaluable insight on April 23.

"Kellermann figured in several recent controversies at Freddie Mac. He and a group of company attorneys tussled with regulators in early March as the firm prepared to file its quarterly earnings report with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The group insisted that Freddie Mac inform shareholders of the cost to the company in helping carry out the Obama administration's housing recovery plan. The regulators urged the company not to do so."

An industry veteran who wished to remain anonymous offered the following assessment for Housing Wire. "This isn't the story of a guy who was trying to cover something up. It's the story of a guy who was trying to do the right thing. Kellermann and his cohorts insisted on reporting Freddie Mac's financial status as they believed it should be reported, disclosing all of its obligations."

Was the smoking gun information held by Kellermann (and other top CEOs who've been "suicided" in recent months) what ultimately cost him his life?

249-175 House Vote Gives Child Molesters Hate Crime Shield  

THE HOUSE APPROVED federal hate crimes legislation (H.R. 1913), by a decisive 249- 175 margin. But in a shocking move, Democrats killed language that would have excluded pedophiles from receiving protections afforded in the measure. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) added the amendment during Judiciary Committee hearings, which stated that sexual orientation in the bill specifically be defined as not including pedophiles.

According to Ted Pike, director of the National Prayer Network, Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) objected, saying that King's amendment was "unnecessary and inflammatory." Ms. Baldwin claimed that sexual orientation, as defined by the Hate Crimes Statistics Act of 1990, means consensual heterosexual or homosexual sex. That definition, she claimed, is sufficient to exclude pedophiles, Pike added. Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (Ill.) then quickly cut off debate—before any conservatives on the committee could respond—and called for a vote.

"When Republicans objected," said Pike, "Conyers said he had not noticed them wanting to debate Baldwin's position, an absurd, unbelievable lie." Pedophilia is a problem, contends Pike, and is something that should be addressed in this legislation to avoid protecting those who break the law. It is inexplicable why Democrats on the committee would seek to provide federal protections to homosexual individuals and groups that promote pedophilia, while "straight" pedophiles would remain without specially protected status, punishable under conventional law.

During the last several minutes of the hearing, Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas) tried to object to the committee's burying of language that would have excluded child-molesting homosexuals, but it was a lost cause.

The Judiciary voted to pass the hate bill without protective language so that any homosexual can claim special protection even when it comes to children. What other forms of dangerous practices will be afforded federal protections under the law? Before the debate was ended, Gohmert wondered aloud if parents, who attacked a homosexual pedophile who had been preying on their child, could now be prosecuted under federal hate crime laws.

Says Pike: "If the hate bill threat has not moved you to pick up your phone and protest to Congress, the fact that H.R. 1913 protects even pedophiles should cause you to react with outrage."

Kucinich, Zarlenga Say Monetary Reform Needed Now

According to Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio) U.S. monetary reform is urgently needed: "It is long past time we look at the implications of . . . the privatization of money created by the 1913 Federal Reserve Act, the bank fractional reserve system and our debt-based economic system. Unless we have dramatic reform of monetary policy, the entire economic system will continue to accelerate wealth upwards. I am currently working on drafting legislation for an ‘American Monetary Act' to address these and other issues in order to protect the economic well being of America.

"The U.S. government has been turned into an engine that accelerates the wealth upwards into the hands of a few. . . . And now, the American people are about to pay the price of the collapse of the $513 trillion Ponzi scheme of derivatives. Yes, that's half a quadrillion dollars."

AFP covered a special presentation on the American Monetary Act in Washington on April 23, hosted by Kucinich and the American Monetary Institute, the premier organization for monetary reform in America.

Kucinich's lovely wife Elizabeth introduced the speaker, Stephen Zarlenga, director of the institute, who has been described as the man who knows more about money than probably anyone else in the United States, and going back in history to the times of the ancient Spartans and the Roman republic.

At one point Zarlenga handed around to the audience a coin from ancient Rome (probably about 225 to 217 B.C.) called an aes grave, made of bronze and weighing about 274 grams. This, he explained, is an example of how money should be made, issued by the state, not by a private bank such as the Federal Reserve, and having a value assigned by law, rather than intrinsic value like gold or silver coinage. (Rome did produce gold and silver "bullion" coins, but only for trade with foreigners, not for use inside Rome.)

Zarlenga showed numerous slides to make monetary science clear to the audience, a mixture of the general public and congressional aides and interns. He pointed out that there has never been true monetary reform in America, which would consist of three elements:

1.)We need to nationalize the Fed;

2.) Banks would no longer issue credit into circulation as "money";

3.) The government would spend new Treasury notes into circulation, to pay for needed infrastructure construction and repairs.

Until now, every attempt at real reform in America has been strangled in the cradle. Past voices for monetary sanity such as those of Reps. Louis McFadden and Jerry Voorhis were silenced.

Monetary reform has failed on a number of occasions in various countries when the reformers failed to implement all three of these elements, Zarlenga warned. For example, Britain nationalized the Bank of England in 1946, as William Temple called for in 1942, but because banks were allowed to continue to create money, within a few years everything was back to "business as usual" in Britain, and the British people enjoyed little benefit from the reform effort.

People Beginning to Wonder: Is There Any Gold in Ft. Knox?

According to Capt. B. Fredrick White, an ex-soldier who was stationed in 1961 at the U.S. Army Training Center Armory at Fort Knox, Ky., the Army was not there to guard the gold in Fort Knox. Says the former GI:

Of course, the area just happened to be surrounded by several thousand M-48 and M-60 tanks, though none of the tanks were "gunned up" for combat. They were all training vehicles with no ammo on board, totally useless if called upon to defend the depository, though they would make good roadblocks at 40 tons each.

All these tanks were parked several miles from the depository in huge motor pools. Most of the older M-48 would not even start in the wintertime, as their batteries had been removed for winterizing.

If there were any problems at night, who would notice? Ninety-nine percent of the Army personnel would be asleep in their barracks. Then there is the bureaucratic chain of command: from the depository up to Treasury in Washington, across to Defense, then back down to the fort. Slow going in those days.

The question remains, is there any gold in the Fort Knox depository? In view of the known lies told by so many elements of the federal government over the past 200 years or so, many intelligent people doubt it. The only way to resolve the matter is to carry out an open audit of the depository by independent, non-governmental accountants.

Please: Don't Embarrass God

Zionist Christians - such as those who assemble here annually to take instruction from Israel's prosperous fundraiser, John Hagee - clearly have no knowledge of history. They need to learn a little.

The foundation of what is known today as the state of Israel, the Balfour Declaration, was issued by the British government on Nov. 2, 1917. It was framed in the form of a letter to one of the richest men in the world, Lord Rothschild, of the international banking firm of the same name - a group of Jewish financiers who some say own most of the world, including the Federal reserve System. Here is what it said:

His majesty's government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine....

British author Arthur Koestler* wrote that in that letter: "one nation solemnly promised to a second nation the country of a third," More than that, the country was then part of the empire of a fourth, Turkey. God had nothing to do with it.

Present-day commentators, journalists and talking heads seem to be floating in the air when they try to explaon to listeners and readers what's going on. The fact is, the Palestinians have lived in Palestine for centuries, if not eons, and it is theirs.

The tragedy that is "Israel" has been invented by sleazy politicians and financed by you, the American taxpayers. It is the United states, under the lash of the Zionist lobby, that has given Israel the guns, airplanes and nuclear weapons** it has. And if you have any doubt that Israeli leaders will use these weapons, you don't understand the nature of the beast we have created.

We dislike calling on the Almighty for favors, but being a just God, He has to be embarrassed by these misled Christian Zionists who - in His name - demand more of our tax money and heavier involvement by our country to support the bloody, aggressive, anti-Christian policies of that nation of panhandlers and militarists.

The one and only answer to this tragic mess is America's traditional policy of nonintervention, which seems to be totally forgotten by everyone.

The policy of nonintervention was first laid down by the father of our country, George Washington, and it was faithfully followed until someone blew a hole in the battleship Maine, which started us on the road to intervening in wars of other nations and now the acme of stupidity - Barack Obama's insane policy of trying to control the globe - which by definition is disaster.

Until the Obamas are shoved aside and America frees itself from alien control and reverts to its traditional nonintervention, only continuing defeat, moral and financial bankruptcy and national disintegration can be expected.

Israeli Rowdies Make A Mockery Of Race Confab

The conference in Geneva addressing racism was marked with catcalls, boorish jeers and locker-room antics on the part of some "activists." They were determined to prevent substantive, rational discussion on Israeli racism.

Donning clown wigs and hurling both rubber noses and racist comments towards Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as he begun the conference's keynote speech with a prayer referencing Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed, organized groups demonstrated they are not interested in the same qualities of free speech, tolerance and open-mindedness about which they and their associates are constantly lecturing the rest of the world.

An international conference dedicated to racism would include Israel and its treatment of Palestinians. So these Israeli protesters tried to drown the event with raucous, rowdy behavior. European diplomats from countries economically beholden to Zionist interests stormed out in goose-stepping unison as well, shouting words such as "shame!" from scripts handed to them before the event began.

It was a coordinated, planned maneuver on the part of Israel going all the way to up to "Bibi" himself, Netanyahu. Interviewed by Israeli press, one of the hecklers, Boaz Toporovshy, said he and his cohorts were merely "following orders."

"At first they (the UN) wouldn't let us in, but we managed to sneak in to the gallery. At first we thought to wave an Israeli flag, but people in the Foreign Ministry told us that it would be better not to thrust Israel to the ‘front' like that, so we settled for shouting." The behavior on the part of the clowns and their European diplomat lackeys was all an operation in sabotage, organized and coordinated by Israel's Foreign Ministry in Switzerland.

Israel feared the conference and - more importantly - the remarks pf the Iranian president. Ahmadinejad is well known for his soft-spoken, reasonable demeanor, his sense of fairness and concern for human rights. Israel stands condemned before the world following it recent massacre in Gaza. Israel could not convince the world that the pictures flowing out of Gaza depicting machine-gunned women and incinerated children's bodies were but figments of some anti-Semite's imagination.

Secession the Ultimate State Right Under Constitution  

The governor of Texas ignited a media firestorm for his remarks involving the idea of secession. He did not call for Texas to secede from the United States. He merely pointed out that the federal government was treading heavily on the sovereignty of the states and that this cannot continue indefinitely without a breaking point.

The reaction to Gov. Rick Perry's (R) statements has been nothing short of hysterical. He has been called treasonous for making this obvious point and opening up a discussion. I am not calling for secession either; however there is nothing wrong with a healthy and open discussion of this issue.

America was born from an act secession. When King George's rule trampled on the rights of the colonies, we successfully seceded from England. It took a war, but we were well within our rights. We applauded when former Soviet states seceded from the USSR and declared their sovereignty. And, hopefully, the United States will eventually secede from the United Nations. We pay most of the bills of the UN, yet do not have the commensurate votes, so someday we will wake up and realize that membership, for these and other reasons, does not serve our interests.

On a personal level, contracts you enter into can be terminated if one side unilaterally changes the terms. If a credit card company jacks up your interest rate, you have every right to fulfill our obligations and close the account. Imagine if you were forced to stay with a credit card company forever no matter what just because you previously signed up. The principle of self-determination applies to political unions as well. In the cases I mentioned above, governing organizations transformed into much more overbearing entities that originally agreed upon. Several state constitutions originally had clauses explicitly allowing them to opt out of the union down the road if they so chose. I doubt our country would have ever come together if this were no the case. Just because the North successfully kept the union together by force with the Civil War does not mean that enslaving the states isa legitimate alternative.

Secession is the last resort of states whose sovereignty is overridden by an overreaching central government. The federal government has only itself to blame for this talk. Recently, some states have enacted laws allowing for the medicinal use of marijuana, yet these laws are basically voided by the continuing raids by the DEA, sanctioned by the administration. The federal government is also strong-arming states with stimulus money, forcing them to expand programs they know they will not be able to afford in the future, at a time when many states' budgets are already in the red. This is not a new problem. No Child Left Behind burdened the states' education systems and forced them through many hoops designed by federal bureaucrats in distant Washington, D.C. rather than allowing communities to tailor education to their children's unique needs. There are numerous other examples of the erosion of state sovereignty and many governors are frustrated, not just ours in Texas. Without the right to secede, state's rights are meaningless.

A republican form of government should also be as close to the people as possible, which means the decisions of local governing bodies must be respected. Where the decisions of local governments are disregarded, the voice of the people is also disregarded. The more that happens, the more frustrated and angry the people will become.

U.S. Admits Israel Has Nukes  

While the Spotlight and AMERICAN FREE PRESS have warned people for years, the U.S. was forced to officially acknowledge May 5 that Israel has had nuclear bombs for some time. The information was forced out by The Washington Times under the Freedom of Information Act.

Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller, speaking at the UN, said Israel should join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which would require Israel to give up its nuclear arms. Asked by The Times if the administration would press Israel to join the treaty, an official said, "We support universal adherence to the NPT. [It] remains a long-term goal." Media Censoring Lethal Side Effects Of Flu Remedies

Donald Rumsfeld's Tamiflu pushers (just as they were in 2006) are set to be the big winners in the GSFS (great swine flu scare of 2009) lottery. Shares of Swiss drug-maker Roche Holding had fallen sharply after their latest cancer drug failure—but the GSFS came just in time to give their falling stocks a boost—just as the great bird flu scare of 2006 did.

In November 2005, George W. Bush goaded Congress to pass $7.1 billion in "emergency funding" to prepare for the possible bird flu pandemic, of which $1 billion was solely dedicated to the purchase and distribution of Tamiflu.

Bush said a minimum of 200,000 Americans were going to die from the avian flu pandemic. Hyping up the hysteria, he claimed if Congress didn't finance his convoluted pandemic influenza plan, stockpiling 80 million doses of Tamiflu at $100 per dose ($8 billion)— two million Americans would die from the bird flu. American Free Press warned readers that this was another scam, just like the swine flu scare of 1976. Tamiflu was a lackluster bust until Bush's bird flu scare.

Now the World Health Organization (WHO)—courtesy of ever-suffering U.S. taxpayers—wants to "save" billions of people by spending billions of dollars for: 1.) Roche's flu drug Tamiflu; and 2.) a rush to concoct a vaccine for a virus they claim is a mystery to science. The leading contender to get that juicy vaccine contract is Baxter—the same company that almost unleashed a deadly pandemic on the world less than six months before the GSFS.

Dr. Joseph Mercola put the pieces of the puzzle together in 2006. He warned Bush's avian flu hoax was a ruse "to justify the immediate purchase of 80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way shape or form treats the avian flu, but only (possibly) decreases the amount of days one is sick—and can actually contribute to the virus having more lethal mutations."

Tamiflu was developed by Gilead Sciences. Gilead licensed the exclusive rights to market and sell Tamiflu to Roche. The dirty secret was that then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was made the chairman of Gilead in 1997. Rumsfeld held lots of stock in Gilead, and was positioned to profit substantially from the government scare tactics.

In its paean of praise for Rumsfeld, Gilead boasted that "Rumsfeld served as chief executive officer of G.D. Searle . . . from 1977 to 1985"—when he used his clout to inflict the deadly toxin aspartame on an unsuspecting public. Gilead also took pride because Rumsfeld helped to direct huge sections of the "military/ industrial complex," which President Eisenhower warned was a dangerous domestic enemy.

Rumsfeld's Tamiflu is worse than worthless. It kills people. Japan has banned it. Even the FDA—after review of nearly 600 cases of neuropsychiatric events reported by patients on Tamiflu and 115 cases of neuropsychiatric events by patients taking Relenza—has warned that Tamiflu's label be strengthened to note: "In some cases, these behaviors resulted in serious injuries, including death, in adult and pediatric patients."

The FDA staff said Relenza, a drug in the same class as Tamiflu, should have a warning label of "reports of hallucinations, delirium and abnormal behavior" observed in some patients taking the drug.

Informed Americans would have to be suffering from "hallucinations, delirium" to trust Big Pharma and corrupt, greedy politicians.

Senate Will Move on Hate Crimes Bill; Critics Claim Bill Simply Unnecessary  

ON APRIL 29, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES passed the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 1913) by a vote of 249 to 175. It is expected to be taken up in the Senate any day now.

Critics of the measure contend that, if the bill becomes law, it will force local and state law enforcement to prosecute and sentence individuals not only for the crimes they commit, but also for their beliefs—a slippery slope which will take the country down the road toward eventually criminalizing the thoughts of the American people.

Conservatives were quick to blast the bill for elevating a few in the eyes of the law.

"In addition to posing a litany of constitutional problems, today's legislation alarmingly overturns the cornerstone of equality in our justice system by placing a higher value on one life over another," said Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) on the House floor. "In no way could I support a bill that more harshly punishes criminals who kill a homosexual, transvestite or transsexual than criminals who kill a police officer, a member of the military, a child, or a senior citizen."

But there's more. The bottom line is, the provisions in this new hate crimes bill, which federalize certain crimes, are unnecessary, as they are already being effectively prosecuted by state and local law enforcement.

During the heated debate on the bill, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) ran afoul of the thought police for candid comments she made regarding Matthew Shepard, whose brutal murder in Wyoming on Oct. 12, 1998, was the purported inspiration for the bill.

The mainstream news had originally reported Shepard was killed solely because he was a homosexual. But a series of in-depth reports have shown that that claim was false and that his murder was more motivated by money and drugs than his homosexuality. Echoing those reports, Mrs. Foxx said that the story behind Shepard was a "hoax" and should not be the impetus for the creation of new laws. Of course, her comments, which were taken out of context, prompted howls of protest from Democrats.

The congresswoman later publicly apologized to Shepard's mother, saying
the word hoax was "a poor choice of words." But that doesn't take away from the fact that the story, which inspired the bill, is not true and should not be exploited to create laws that target thoughts.

"This unconstitutional hate crimes bill raises the possibility that religious leaders or members of religious groups could become the subject of a criminal investigation focusing on a suspect's religious beliefs, membership in religious organizations and any statements made by a suspect," said Rep. Broun.

"Religious leaders and others who express their constitutionally protected beliefs should not be silenced out of fear of prosecution."

As AFP goes to press, the bill is in the Senate Judiciary Committee and is expected to come to the floor for a vote at any time.

‘Audit The Fed' Bill Gathers Steam  

TWO MONTHS AFTER REP. RON PAUL (R-Texas) introduced the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 (H.R. 1207), the bill, which mandates an official audit of the privately owned and controlled Federal Reserve System has already garnered 112 cosponsors. It is currently making the rounds in the House Committee on Financial Services.

Advocates are optimistic that the landmark measure will see the light of day in this Congress and could even come to the floor for a House vote soon.

"This piece of legislation is perhaps the most important of my career," said Paul upon introducing the measure. "Americans from all over the political spectrum are demanding an audit of the Federal Reserve. And with good reason."

The extent of the bipartisan support for the measure has even surprised some of its most ardent supporters, who are finding more and more people receptive to calls for transparency and accountability of the Fed.

The bill requires a full audit of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve banks be completed before the end of 2010. Furthermore, a report on the audit results will have to be submitted by the head of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to Congress within 90 days of finishing the investigation of the bank. It would then be made available to the public.

The GAO report would include a detailed description of the findings and conclusions with respect to the audit, along with recommendations for legislative or administrative action as the GAO may deem be appropriate.

The bill would also subject the Federal Reserve's funding facilities, including the Primary Dealer Credit Facility, Term Securities Lending Facility, and Term Asset-Backed Securities Lending Facility to congressional oversight. These are relatively new bodies created by Fed officials, which have worked to keep banks around the United States from going insolvent as a result of the current economic crisis.

"Since its inception, the Federal Reserve has operated without sufficient transparency or accountability to the American people," said Paul. "Current law specifically excludes the Fed from audit or real congressional oversight."

Website Offers $25 Million for Birth Certificate, Obama Supporters Remain Disturbingly Mum

for a year now, many citizens have demanded that President Obama prove he is more than just a "pretender to the throne" by producing a bona fide birth certificate showing him to be a natural born U.S. citizen.

When Obama first refused to release his birth certificate last year, prior to his nomination in August, attorney Philip Berg of Pennsylvania filed suit, but a Philadelphia judge said that Berg could not be damaged by the election of Obama.

Alan Keyes, an avowed Neocon, was a presidential candidate who could certainly claim damage from an illegal claimant to the presidency, and his suit was next. Then Leo Denofrio of New Jersey showed cause with "defective ballots" claiming that both McCain and Obama were ineligible. Some two dozen cases in as many states were filed with several going to the United States Supreme Court, but all seem to have been stonewalled.

Last June, following the initial hoopla surrounding the controversy, Obama's backers made themselves and their hero even more foolish by posting on a website what they claimed to be Obama's official "Certificate of Live Birth" from Hawaii.

However, the certificate was an obvious, and not very good, forgery. Not only was it laser-printed - unheard of in Obama's birth year of 1961 - on a 21st century form that had its revision date of "11/01" printed in the bottom left had corner, but some of the anachronistic information therein was obvious. For instance, whoever had forged the certificate displayed his ignorance by typing in "African" in the blank space for the race of the father, which was not only inaccurate but totally unheard of as a synonym for black people at that time.

Meanwhile, Obama's grandmother confirmed via telephone that she was at the hospital in what is now Kenya when Barack was born in August of 1961.

Now there are new developments surfacing in California. Included in the Keyes lawsuit, pressed by Attorney Gary Kreep's United States Justice Foundation (USJF), Which is appealing the case "all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary," was a subpoena upon Occidental College to produce copies of Obama's college transcripts. Released in early April, the transcripts indicate that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.

Released in compliance with an order from the Superior Court of California, the transcripts show that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must have claimed foreign citizenship.

The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. Obama's attorneys have asked the court to place sanctions on USJF in attempt to stop this legal action to discover the truth.

While the Occidental document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractrs have been seeking - that Obama was indeed a foreigner - it actually provides only one more piece of circumstantial evidence and does not necessarily prove that he was anything more than a liar. (Did he lie then about being "foreign born" to get financial aid, or is he lying now about being "natural born?") And liars have never been denied the presidency.

What more can be done, and where can "We the People" go from here? What can Gary Kreep and the USJF do when the whole corrupt judiciary refuses to even look at this important constitutional challenge?

Will this continue to be swept under the rug for the next 50 years as was the truth about Pearl Harbor, the Warren Commission, and the LBJ's Gulf of Tonkin hoax?

Meanwhile, a growing group in addition to AFP is attempting to enlighten the public.

A former FBI executive has said that Obama could not even get a top-secret security clearance because of his questionable background. Anybody with this much to hide should be exposed, says one group with big bucks.

Claiming that alleged President Barack Obama is a fraud, owners of a new website (www.rewardforobamasbirthcertificate.com) are now offering $25 million to him or anyone else who will produce the real McCoy birth certificate. They state their intent to keep increasing the offer to the point that someone will eventually be motivated to produce Barack Hussein Obama's real birth certificate that can be proven to be valid and not the meaningless "Certification of Live Birth" which proves nothing at all. Who actually is providing the $25 million was not disclosed.

New Independent Radio Network Is an Alternative to Media Monopoly

There's a growing national (actually international) broadcast network that features a wide-ranging array of talk show forums that aren't afraid to speak about controversial subjects. And no less than three American Free Press correspondents have regular programs on this network.

We're talking about the Republic Broadcasting Network (RBN), based on the Internet at Republicbroadcasting.org, and also heard on satellite at Transponder Frequency 11836, symbol Rate 20770, @97degrees west. RBN is also heard on a burgeoning number of local radio stations across the country.

Truth-Starved Public Craves Honest News Reporting  

With every new day comes another barrage of downbeat and disheartening news about the latest triumphs of the Obama presidency. The hard-won victories that have long been taken for granted by most of us now appear to be slipping away.

The latest key word in this battle to keep our freedom is "empathy." This is not unlike the famous claim by President Bill Clinton that "I can feel your pain."

Yes, this nation of ours is in a recession and many prophets of our economic destiny can say we are slipping faster than a lot of people want to believe, into a depression very similar to the Great Depression of the 1930s.

With that news a lot of can empathize and we don't have to be over 100 years old in order to do so.

A lot of us like to get our news from the so-called newscasts on Television. We can tune into any channel and find ourselves listening to and watching news readers, all of whom have the same information and same words to hurl at us.

Some of these characters like to shout and scream in order to make us think we're getting something "exclusive." Well, yes in a way we are. They have different ways of shouting and yelling the word exclusive at us. But the show quickly becomes very boring and tiresome.

Let's look at those media masters who use their world-wide resources and power to give us mere "sound bites" of the information they know from one another and those they meet at secret conclaves like the annual Bilderberg meetings Jim Tucker has been covering for AFP and its inspiration, The Spotlight, since the late 1970s.

Cheney to Mainstream Media: Terrorists Blew Up WTC

Former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld each have made curious 9-11 statements on camera that are well worth pondering. Two particular video clips (see links at bottom) have some observers saying that these comments constitute 9-11 "blurt outs" suggesting inside knowledge of what actually happened on 9-11—Freudian slips, if you will.
While this phenomenon of slippery lips regarding 9-11 is not altogether new, Cheney's statement was on Mother's Day on national television, a day when many moms remember their soldier-sons who died in the war on terror inspired by 9-11.

Cheney, in his May 10 interview with Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer, a veteran CBS journalist, defended the Bush Administration's water-boarding torture of al Qaeda suspects and other policies that he insists gleaned sensitive information and kept the nation safe for the eight years since Sept. 11, 2001.

While recalling that President Bush in his final days as president was quiet regarding the Obama administration's possible actions to overturn Bush-era national security policies, Cheney said he chose to be outspoken in his final days as VP, to make the case that the Bush administration did things right and that he has "no regrets" about using torture to get information.

Cheney told Schieffer that Obama should not change these policies. And while Cheney noted that there are "two memos that I know of, written by the CIA, that point out the success of those policies," he went on to say that these memos are classified but should be released to the public and the press, so that the claimed effectiveness of Bush-era national security policies can be evaluated.

"The memos do exist, I've seen them, I had them in my files at one time," Cheney told Schieffer, after the host said that the attorney general "says he does not know of such memos."

In the course of the discussion, Cheney used the exact words "blew up the World Trade Center" in reference to the al Qaeda network which, according to the official version, masterminded the 9-11 operation but absolutely did not "blow up" the World Trade Center since that implies implanted explosives and an inside job of some kind.

"Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is the man who killed 3,000 Americans on 9-11, blew up the World Trade Center, attacked the Pentagon, tried to blow up the White House and the Capitol Building . . . an evil man," said Cheney to Schieffer, who did not react to the words "blew up."

Mohammed did not spill the beans on his 9-11 role, claimed Cheney, "until after water boarding." He also claimed that other planned attacks against the United States were stopped by so-called enhanced interrogation methods—a euphemism for torture.

However, Osama bin Laden—long pitched as the poster boy of terror and mastermind of 9-11—was not even mentioned by Cheney. The U.S. government has never captured bin Laden in its vast war on terror with hugely expensive, prolonged military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. These wars have killed tens of thousands of overseas civilians and killed, sickened and maimed many thousands of U.S soldiers, with fatalities well beyond the official war dead of some 4,200 because most battle-sickened troops who die later are not counted as "killed in action." American Free Press in previous reports has estimated the real war dead, conservatively, at 80,000, based on Veterans Administration GWVIS figures online.

"I am . . . absolutely convinced that we saved thousands or hundreds of thousands of American lives," Cheney told Schieffer, reflecting on the domestic effects of Bush's policies. Cheney also said these policies compliment the day that he raised his right hand to take an oath "to defend the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic" and that there was nothing "devious, dishonest, illegal or deceitful" about what was done.

The official 9-11 story stubbornly maintains that terrorists flew two commercial jetliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center (WTC) and that the impacts and fires brought on a gravitational collapse of the 110-story, steel-framed buildings. The third building that collapsed in the WTC complex was Building 7, which was not hit by a plane but was supposedly damaged to some extent by fires and debris.

The federal government and big media have always denied that an inside job of any kind took place in these three buildings or in the rest of the broad 9-11 crime, even though building 7 came down in a little under seven seconds into its own footprint like a controlled demolition.

In December 2004, Rumsfeld stated the following from a podium when visiting Iraq, as excerpted in a brief video clip: "And I think all of us have a sense if we imagine the kind of world we would face if the people who bombed the mess hall in Mosul, or the people who did the bombing in Spain, or the people who attacked the United States in New York, shot down the plane over Pennsylvania and attacked the Pentagon. . . ."

The official story is that Islamic terrorists hijacked the plane, Flight 93, and forced it to the ground in rural Shanksville, Pa., merely by seizing control of the cockpit. The claims by some independent researchers that the real plane was shot down at a different, but nearby, location in Pennsylvania have always been dismissed by higher-ups in government and big media. Some say a cruise missile or similar device was shot into the ground, as a diversion, at the official "crash scene" in Shanksville, which left no distinct plane wreckage behind.

Also, in an Oct. 12, 2001, statement by Rumsfeld in Parade magazine, he refers to "the missile" that damaged the Pentagon, even though the official story says Islamic terrorists flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon, and there was no missile. Again, there was no discernable commercial airliner wreckage. Even the lawn by the impact site was undisturbed.

"Here we're talking about plastic knives and using an American Airlines flight filled with our citizens, and the missile to damage this building and similar (inaudible) that damaged the World Trade Center. The only way to deal with this problem is by taking the battle to the terrorists, wherever they are, and dealing with them," said Rumsfeld, according to Parade, some six months before any missile theories arose among alternative media. Critics, however, claim Rumsfeld was misunderstood and meant the AA flight and missile were one and the same, not separate.

But Cheney's new statement is a fresh example of an unguarded moment in which the truth could have slipped out. Is this an admission of guilt or inside knowledge? No. But it may be a good reason to bring these former Bush boys into court or before congressional committees for detailed questioning, as architects, engineers, aeronautics specialists, attorneys, former military and intelligence personnel and other credible people question the official 9-11 story in growing numbers.

Pro-Israel Mouthpiece Says Freedom of Speech Dangerous  

‘JINSA' article says outlets who oppose future wars should be silenced—killed if necessary—by military strike

ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL voices of the pro-Israel lobby has published a shocking essay suggesting that, in the future, there should be "military attacks" on journalists and media outlets that oppose American military ventures on behalf of Israel.

In the spring 2008 issue of its Journal of International Security Affairs, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), a particularly vocal force of the Jewish lobby, published a series of articles devoted to the subject: "The U.S. Military Faces the Future."

One article, entitled "Wishful Thinking and Indecisive Wars," written by Ralph Peters (described as "a retired U.S. Army officer") states flatly that "Although it seems unthinkable now, future wars may require censorship, news blackouts and, ultimately, military attacks on the partisan media."

The JINSA essay says "Freedom of the press stops when its abuse kills our soldiers and strengthens our enemies. Such a view arouses disdain today, but a media establishment that has forgotten any sense of sober patriotism may find that it has become tomorrow's conventional wisdom."

JINSA's suggestion that the media in America opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq—a key demand by Israel and JINSA—flies in contrast to the truth. In fact, the major media banged the drum for war. AMERICAN FREE PRESS and a few independent newspapers strongly opposed this needless war.

So what JINSA is saying is that those independent media voices—such as AMERICAN FREE PRESS—that opposed the drive for war should ultimately face military violence if they oppose the Jewish lobby's future military aims.

One analyst, University of Pennsylvania Prof. Edward Herman, has described JINSA as "organized and run by individuals closely tied to the Israeli lobby and can be regarded as a virtual agency of the Israeli government."

JINSA was founded in the mid-1980s by Stephen Bryen. He, along with several of his close associates—including future George W. Bush administration officials Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith—was investigated by the FBI on charges of spying for Israel at various times. JINSA has worked to forge alliances between the Jewish lobby and former American military officials, treating them to international junkets and a variety of business and other financial bonanzas provided by Israeli sympathizers in America and around the globe in return for support for their blatantly pro-Israel policies.

Peters—whose pro-Israel articles are published regularly in The New York Post, owned by pro-Zionist billionaire Rupert Murdoch—is just one of those whose views on the military appeared in JINSA's journal.

A recurring theme in the essays emphasized the need for the United States to coordinate its international ventures with its "allies," that is, Israel. The essays underscore the idea that it is vital for the United States to engage in covert action to bring down regimes that stand in the way of Israel's agenda. Written in "code," so to speak, the essays carry the theme that Israel's interests are those of America and vice-versa and that those who oppose Israel are "anti-American," and that includes American military officers.

An essay by one Patrick Poole alleges that the distinguished Strategic Studies Institute at the U.S. Army War College is in the state of "strategic collapse" because it published a study saying that Hamas, the Palestinian faction, has been misunderstood due to misreporting by what the War College report says are "Israeli and Western sources that villainize the group."

JINSA's propagandist claims the War College "is only representative of a larger rot in the U.S. military's halls of higher learning . . . that apparently runs through all levels of our military senior service schools. . . ."

The author of these attacks on American military leaders who refuse to pander to the Jewish lobby, Patrick Poole, is a ubiquitous Internet presence, writing pro-Israel screeds for Frontpagemag.com, the website of ex-communist-turned-neoconservative pro-Israel publicist David Horowitz.

The record shows that increasing numbers of American military figures, and a host of ex-diplomats, intelligence officers and others are publicly challenging the Jewish lobby. They include Adm. "Fox" Fallon, former ambassadors Charles Freeman and Richard Peck, ex-CIA officers Michael Scheuer and Ray McGovern as well as top academics such as Dr. John Mearsheimer and Dr. Stephen Walt. And former President Jimmy Carter as well.

It is thus no surprise that influential Jewish voices, such as Forward, published in Manhattan, complain there is opposition to Israel within higher circles, a point that surprises many Americans who believe Israel has a firm stranglehold on the American intelligence, diplomatic and law enforcement apparatus.

On May 11, 2005, Forward reported that Barry Jacobs of the Washington office of the American Jewish Committee said there were high-ranking officials in the U.S. intelligence community who were hostile to Israel and unreceptive to pro-Israel lobbyists.

Citing the then-ongoing FBI investigation of espionage by officials of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Forward noted that this top Jewish leader believed, in Forward's summary, that "the notion that American Jews and Pentagon neo-conservatives conspired to push the United States into war against Iraq, and possibly also against Iran, is pervasive in Washington's intelligence community."

Although the Justice Department recently dropped its case against the AIPAC duo, the FBI investigators remained confident that their criminal case against the intriguers would have resulted in a conviction.

It has been a long-standing concern of JINSA that many in the military are tired of fighting wars for Israel. In the fall of 2006, JINSA's journal suggested that a full-fledged witch-hunt was in order, designed to root out critics of Israel at high levels, implying that Israel's critics were allied to "jihadist" fundamentalist Muslims. JINSA asked:

How deeply have jihadist elements infiltrated the U.S. government and federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and various military commands, either through sympathizers or via actual operatives?

Since there are few Muslims in the FBI, Homeland Security, the Department of Defense etc, the suggestion that "jihadist" elements have "infiltrated" our government might seem silly to the average American. But JINSA—determined to enforce Israel's demands on American foreign policy and military might—is concerned that there are growing numbers in the military, the FBI and the CIA who are opposed to wars for Israel—and this, in JINSA's view, constitutes collaboration with the dreaded "jihadists."

Patriot Act Overrides Constitution Across America  

Church-going sixteen-year-old N.C. boy held since Feb. 15 in Indiana on silly charges he's a domestic terrorist

In Granville County (Oxford), North Carolina, Annette Lundeby has been living a nightmare. Three months ago her 16-year-old son Ashton was dragged away in handcuffs by federal and state law officers. He is charged with making a telephone bomb threat from his home on the night of Feb. 15, even though the family was at a church function that night and can prove it. Ashton now sits in a juvenile facility in South Bend, Indiana. His mother has had little access to him and says that there is nothing she can do.

"We have no rights under the Patriot Act to even defend them, because the Patriot Act basically supersedes the Constitution," she said. "It wasn't intended to drag your barely 16-year-old, 120-pound son out in the middle of the night on a charge that we can't even defend."

Passed after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., the Patriot Act allows federal agents to investigate suspected cases of terrorism swiftly to "better protect the country." In part, it gives the federal government wide latitude in searching telephone records, e-mails and other records.

Around 10 p.m. on March 5th, Lundeby said, heavily armed FBI agents, along with three local law enforcement officers, stormed her home looking for her son. They handcuffed him and presented her with a search warrant.

Lundeby told the officers that someone had hacked into her son's IP address and was using it to make crank calls connected through the Internet, making it look like the calls had originated from her home when they had not. She was ignored. Agents seized a computer, a cell phone, a gaming console, routers, bank statements and school records, according to federal search warrants.

"There were no bomb-making materials, not even a blasting cap, not even a wire," Lundeby said. "The Patriot Act has stripped my son of his right to due process."

Critics of the statute say it threatens the most basic of liberties. "They're saying that ‘We feel this individual is a terrorist or an enemy combatant against the United States, and we're going to suspend all of those due process rights because this person is an enemy of the United States,'" said Dan Boyce, a defense attorney and former U.S. attorney not connected to the case.

Mrs. Lundeby said that a date for her son's hearing has been booked for late May, but she is not hopeful it will happen then, as it has already been changed several times. Because a federal judge issued a gag order in the case, the U.S. attorney in Indiana cannot comment on its status, nor can the FBI. The North Carolina Highway Patrol did confirm that officers assisted with the FBI operation at the Lundeby home on March 5th.

"Never in my worst nightmare did I ever think that it would be my own government that I would have to protect my children from," Lundeby said. "This is the United States, and I feel like I live in a Third World country now."

In a bi-partisan effort, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Jeff Flake, (R-Ariz.) last month introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would narrow subpoena power in a provision of the Patriot Act (called the National Security Letters) to curb what some consider to be abuse of power by federal law enforcement officers.

Global Elite Hunker Down in Greek Luxury Resort

Bilderberg luminaries all appeared grim-faced as they stepped from their limos on to the grounds of the Nafsika Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni, Greece. They arrived from the airport in nearby Athens, escorted by police with sirens blaring. The world economy is at the top of the Bilderberg agenda. Bilderberg will debate how to exploit the global recession and fabrications about "swine flu" to advance its world government goals. Bilderberg's agenda has expanded, even as public awareness has grown.

Sources within Bilderberg said President Obama will be instructed to make another effort to get the United States to sign on to the International Criminal Court. The ICC treaty, if ratified by the Senate, would be superior to the Constitution, able to overrule Congress and the Supreme Court and impose "world law" on America.

Bilderberg leaders said they understood the effort would have to be handled with "subtle delicacy" because of the Senate's traditional hostility to joining the ICC.

Former President Bill Clinton, who attended Bilderberg as the obscure governor of Arkansas in 1991 and was elected president in 1992, OK'd the ICC treaty, even though a test vote showed more than 90 senators objecting to the treaty, including world government advocates who were scared off by patriotic voters made aware of the perils by The Spotlight, the inspiration for AMERICAN FREE PRESS. So Clinton dared not submit the ICC treaty for ratification, and was forced to wait for a wind change in politics.

BILDERBERG OWNS OBAMA

But Bilderberg owns President Obama, who sees himself as a "citizen of the world." He will be sweet-talking Senate supporters who are afraid to back the treaty. He will be hoping for an even more left-wing Senate after the 2010 election, His goal, as dictated by Bilderberg, is to persuade the new Senate (to be seated in January 2010), to ratify the ICC treaty late on a Saturday night, too late for the Sunday papers or to make changes in the Sunday TV talkies.

You will not read of this in the Bilderberg-controlled Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times or hear about it on network news broadcasts.

New Bill Puts All Water Under Federal Control

Disturbing new legislation, introduced by Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wisc.) Under the aegis of addressing water pollution, has many activists concerned that Congress is making moves to control Americans' access to water.

The Clean Water restoration Act (S. 787), which has 24 cosponsors and is currently in the Committee on Environment and Public Works, would amend the Federal Water Pollution control Act to clarify the jurisdiction of the federal government over waters of the United States.

The Federal Water Pollution Control Act, more commonly known as the Clean Water Act, is a law that gives Washington broad authority to regulate pollution levels in all the nation's waterways. However, up until this latest bill, it had only applied to major interstate waters and tributaries. Feingold's proposed measure would amend U.S. law for the purpose of unconstitutionally putting all water in the U.S. under Washington's control.

Activists have pointed to the section in the bill that defines "waters of the United States" as explicitly stating that "all waters subject to the ebb and flow of the tide, the territorial seas, and all interstate and intrastate waters and their tributaries, including lakes, rivers, streams (including intermittent streams), mudflats, sandflats, wetlands, sloughs, prairie potholes, wet meadows, playa lakes, natural ponds, and all impoundments of the foregoing, to the fullest extent that these waters or activities, affecting these waters, are subject to the legislative power of Congress under the Constitution."

In other words, sometime in the near future, it's plausible to believe that Americans could see bureaucrats from the Environmental Protection agency coming onto their private property to collect water samples from small ponds, irrigation ditches and puddles and fine those who use too much fertilizer or do not take steps to care for federally protected frogs, bugs and other critters.
