Ignoring 9-11;

Mainstream Press Avoids Sept. 11 Hero's Testimony

By Christopher Bollyn

SCHAUMBURG, Illinois—In amazement and awe, audiences hang on every word of William Rodriguez when he speaks about his experiences of Sept. 11, 2001. The compelling testimony of the former custodian of the World Trade Center, in which he clearly describes a huge explosion occurring in the basement of the North Tower seconds before the plane struck the building, demolishes the government version of events as completely as the explosions that pulverized the twin towers.

The 40-minute testimony of Rodriguez, a national hero, presents listeners with an inescapable dilemma. Either Rodriguez is making it all up or the official explanation of what caused the destruction of the two 110-story steel and concrete towers is a pack of lies.

Because the corporate-controlled press cannot square the Puerto Rican custodian's testimony with the official version, they simply have to avoid him entirely.

To pursue the truth in a public forum is why American Free Press invited Rodriguez to participate in its 9-11 Symposium in Schaumburg, a suburb of Chicago, home of the world's first skyscraper constructed with steel girders.

Dr. Gene Corley, structural engineer and team leader of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) report on the destruction of the WTC, was invited well in advance to participate in the symposium and defend the fire induced gravity collapse theory. Corley chose not to.

As team leader of the official engineering study about the damaged towers Corley wrote: ". . . absent other severe loading events such as a windstorm or earthquake, the buildings could have remained standing in their damaged states until subjected to some significant additional load.

"The large quantity of jet fuel carried by each aircraft ignited upon impact into each building. A significant portion of this fuel was consumed immediately in the ensuing fireballs. The remaining fuel is believed either to have flowed down through the buildings or to have burned off within a few minutes of the aircraft impact. The heat produced by this burning jet fuel does not by itself appear to have been sufficient to initiate the structural collapses," Corley wrote in the executive summary of the "World Trade Center Building Performance Study."

According to Corley, neither the impact of the planes nor the burning fuel caused the towers to collapse.

"Over a period of many minutes," Corley wrote, secondary fires, such as burning office supplies and furniture set alight by the burning fuel, "induced additional stresses into the damaged structural frames while simultaneously softening and weakening these frames.

"This additional loading and the resulting damage were sufficient to induce the collapse of both structures," the FEMA-sponsored study concluded.

Corley, a senior vice president with Construction Technology Laboratories in Skokie, has his office 20 miles from the Schaumburg library where the 9-11 Symposium was held on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Corley told AFP that he is quite willing to discuss the findings of the official report, but during the entire month prior to the event he failed to respond to several written invitations. AFP finally called Corley's office two days before the event and was told he would be in Memphis.

Corley played a key role in authoring similar technical reports about the Pentagon, the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, and the Branch Davidian compound disaster in Waco, Tex.

In addition to Rodriguez and Corley, three other researchers were invited to participate in the symposium.

Dave von Kleist, host of "The Power Hour" radio show and producer of the video In Plane Site, traveled from Versailles, Mo.

Phil Jayhan, author of the letsroll911.org web site, came from McHenry, Ill., and Eric Hufschmid, the California based author of Painful Questions: An Analysis of the Sept. 11 Attack, donated books, videos and funds to the event.

MAINSTREAM MEDIA ABSENT

Although the news departments of every major media network in the Chicago area were informed well in advance of the event, the only news outlet to attend was the Spanish language Univision television channel, which interviewed Rodriguez for the nightly news. Thus, while Rodriguez, a national hero who has been honored at the White House five times, delivered his testimony to a full house at the conference, not a single reporter from the English-language media or The Chicago Tribune bothered to attend.

The suburban Daily Herald told AFP that they "lacked the resources to cover the event," and featured a front-page story about adult dodgeball the following Monday.

Peter Hernon, chief of The Chicago Tribune's Schaumburg office, told AFP that he was unaware of the event although his bureau had received numerous notices by post, fax, email and phone. The Tribune, which has a bureau only two miles from the library, had even published an announcement of the symposium the Friday before the event.

Likewise, Richard Wronski, news desk editor on the day of the event, said he had not heard of the event.

Hernon and Wronski were less than completely honest because a fellow editor at the Schaumburg office told AFP two days before the symposium that while the paper was well aware of the event, it had decided not to cover it.

Puzzled by these responses, AFP asked N. Don Wycliff, public editor at the Tribune, how the decision was made not to cover what was probably the most significant 9-11 event ever held in the Chicago area. The Tribune Company is one of America's largest media networks owning print, television and radio outlets in the nation's three largest markets of New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

AFP told Wycliff about how Rodriguez had returned to the burning tower several times and led firefighters up the stairwells opening the locked fire doors with his master key allowing many trapped workers to escape.

Wycliff then asked what Rodriguez had to say that might add to the public understanding of what happened on 9-11.

Told of the tremendous explosion that Rodriguez and others felt in the basement of the North Tower at 8:46 a.m., before the plane hit the building, Wycliff said, "The fact that three or four years later this guy comes out with these revelations doesn't strike me as news."

It is a fact, however, that Rodriguez has been saying the same thing since he was pulled from under a fire truck buried under the rubble of the North Tower. His testimony to the official 9-11 commission, however, was not included in the final report.

State of Emergency; 469 Americans Kidnapped on Mexico Border

By Mike Blair

The failure of the Bush Administration to act to secure America's southern border with Mexico against an invasion by millions of illegal aliens is spurring governors of states along the border to take independent action.

Meanwhile the Minutemen, a citizens' group that has assisted the Border Patrol and state authorities in patrolling the border and keeping aliens from entering the U.S. illegally, is mobilizing a force of 7,000 volunteers to expand its activities.

The governors of two states have declared states of emergency, and another is considering such action in order to deal with the myriad problems resulting from unprecedented immigration. In addition, the moves were an attempt to spur the federal government to take action. They have declared the states of emergency after countless pleas to the Bush administration, and in particular the Department of Homeland Security, have gone unanswered.

New Mexico's Hispanic Gov. Bill Richardson (D) is the first to declare a state of emergency, not long after he had vetoed a bill that would have expanded state social service benefits and would have given virtual amnesty to illegals flocking to the state.

Now, Gov. Janet Napolitano (D) of Arizona has made a similar declaration.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a republican and the first chief executive of a state to criticize the administration's handling of the illegal alien crisis, is considering declaring a state of emergency.

The governors are concerned about the growing number of U.S. citizens who have been kidnapped along the border regions. A total of 469 people were kidnapped in 2004. Currently, 47 Americans are missing, and their abductors are demanding ransom in excess of $100 million.

Those Mexican police who have been attempting to stop the illegal border crossings have been threatened and, in some cases, murdered by alien smugglers and members of Mexican drug cartels.

The fact is, uncorrupted Mexican police are hard to come by. An honest Mexican police officer earns only $300 from the government, while those on the payroll of drug cartels and alien smugglers can make as much as $10,000 a month by helping them.

Thousands of trucks, must of which are never searched at the border due to the North American Free Trade Agreement and could be smuggling both illegals and drugs, are daily crossing the border from Nuevo Laredo, on the Mexican side, to Laredo, Tex. From there, they travel up U.S. Interstate 35 deep within the United states. There is no way to tell which ones may be smuggling illegal aliens or drugs or both.

Federal government statistics indicate that about 81 percent of illegal aliens come from Mexico and various Central American countries.

These statistics are another cause for concern because the other 19 percent come from areas of the world where prevailing wisdom says Anti-American terrorists reside.

Illegal aliens make up about 5 percent of the American labor force.

Disastrous Fiscal Policies Creates Threat to U.S.

Federal Reserve Policies, Government Spending Imperil America's Future

Few Americans truly understand how our Federal Reserve system enables Congress to spend far beyond ins means, but the cycle of spending and printing money affects all of us. Simply put, the more money our Treasury prints, the less every dollar is worth.

Our pure fiat money system, in place since the last vestiges of a gold standard were eliminated in the early 1970s, has reduced the value of your savings by 80 percent. Disregard the government's Consumer Price Index, which substantially under reports price inflation. Monetary inflation is true inflation, and we only need to look at the cost of homes, cars, energy, and medical care to recognize that a dollar buys far less today than ever.

Economist Mark Thornton of the Ludwig von Mises Institute lays out a sobering case against the long-term health of the U.S. collar. He identifies several facts and trends that bode ill for millions of Americans counting on dollar-denominated assets to fund their retirements.

First, federal debt continues to grow exponentially and shows no sign of abating.

Americans were shocked at the notion of a $1 trillion federal debt in 1980; just 25 years later the total approaches $8 trillion. The Bush administration and the current Congress have increased spending at rates unseen since the New Deal and Great Society eras, and single-year deficits now exceed $500 billion.

There is zero political will in Washington to curb spending, as evidenced by the shameful transportation bill recently passed by Congress.

Second, federal entitlement programs like social Security and Medicare will not be "fixed" by politicians who are unwilling to make hard choices and admit mistakes. Demographic trends will force tax increases and greater deficit spending to maintain benefits for millions of older Americans who are dependent on the federal government.

Faced with uncomfortable financial realities, congress will seek to avoid the day of reckoning by the most expedient means available - and the Federal Reserve undoubtedly will accommodate Washington by printing more dollars to pay the bills.

Third, future administrations are unlikely to challenge a foreign policy orthodoxy that views America as the world's savior. We are hemorrhaging billions of dollars every month in Iraq, and we waste billions more every year through foreign aid and overseas meddling.

A foreign policy based on nation-building and the imposition of "democracy" abroad, in direct contravention of our founders' admonitions, is not economically sustainable. In Korea alone, U.S. taxpayers have spent nearly one trillion in today's dollars over 55 years. A permanent military presence in Iraq and the wider Middle East will cost enormous amount of money.

Finally, we face a reordering of the entire world economy. China, Japan and Asia in general have been happy to hold U.S. debt instruments in recent decades, but they will not prop up our spending habits forever. Foreign central banks are increasingly reluctant to hold more U.S. dollars, understanding that American leaders do not have the discipline to maintain a stable currency.

When the rest of the world finally abandons the dollar as the global reserve currency, both Congress and American consumers will find borrowing money a more expensive proposition.

All of these factors make it likely that the U.S. dollar will continue to decline in value, perhaps precipitously, in the coming decade. Will it take an economic depression before the American public finally holds the political class accountable for its reckless borrowing, spending and counterfeiting?

The greatest threat facing America today is not terrorism or foreign economic competition, or illegal immigration. The greatest threat facing America today is the disastrous fiscal policies of our own government, marked by shameless deficit spending and Federal Reserve currency devaluation.

It is this one-two punch - Congress spending more than it can tax or borrow, and the Fed printing money to make up the difference - that threatens to impoverish us by furrther destroying the value of our dollars.

Harnessing Weather

Allegations Surface That U.S. & Russia Have Technology To Manage Hurricanes

Author Sydney Sheldon said, "The old adage that everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it is no longer valid," in an afterword to his fascinating novel Are You Afraid of the Dark?

"Today," Sheldon continued, "two superpowers have the ability to control weather around the world: the United States and Russia. Other countries, probably China and North Korea, are working feverishly to catch up."

As this article was being written the aftereffects of Hurricane Katrina were still being felt in the southeastern United States, after it caused billions of dollars in damage along the Gulf of Mexico coast, and the death toll from the killer storm was still being tabulated.

Could this devastation have been avoided? Could Katrina itself have been avoided as a death-dealing hurricane?

The answers to both questions are probably "Yes." The ability of Russia and the United States to create storms of this magnitude definitely exists.

The big question that remains is, why, then, wasn't Katrina stopped before it devastated three states—Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi—along the Gulf Coast?

There could be any number of reasons, but all would be mere speculation, as the fact is nothing was done to stop Katrina.

Those who doubt that Katrina, or any other hurricane, could be stopped—or created—can find substantiation in a long-forgotten article by Chen May Yee in the Nov. 13, 1997, issue of The Wall Street Journal.

The article recounts an offer by the Russians to aid Malaysia to create a typhoon to dissipate a pall of smoke that hung over the country—and still does—caused by the burning of large sections of the rain forests in Indonesia and Sumatra.

To quote from the article: Datuk Law Hieng Ding, Malaysia's minister for science, technology and the environment at the time, said his country "would use special technology to create an artificial cyclone to clean the air."

The article went on to say that a Malaysian company, Bic Cure Sdn. Bhd., would sign a memorandum of understanding with a government-owned Russian company to create a cyclone that would cause torrential rains and thus cleanse the air over Malaysia of the smoke and ash.

What Russian company was the Malaysian official talking about?

On Oct. 2, 1992, The Wall Street Journal reported that a Russian company, Elate Intelligent Technologies, Inc., has weather control equipment for sale and uses the advertising slogan of "weather made to order."

Igor Pirogoff, director of the company, said "Elate is capable of fine-tuning weather patterns over a 200-square mile area for as little as $200 U.S. per day," the newspaper reported.

A year before the article was written, Hurricane Andrew caused $30 billion in damages as it plowed through the South. Pirogoff said Andrew could have been turned into "a wimpy little squall."

According to a UN pamphlet, titled Basic Facts about the United Nations, which was published in 1994, the world body negotiated the Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques in 1977. This "prohibits the use of techniques that would have widespread, long-lasting or severe effects through deliberate manipulation of natural processes and cause such phenomena as earthquakes, tidal waves, and changes in climate and in weather patterns."

Getting back to Malaysia, where the potential for creating or dissipating cyclones seems to have made its first appearance, there was never any follow-up to the stories about Elate and whether in fact the cyclone was created, although it was approved by the Malaysian government.

A call by American Free Press to the Malaysian Embassy in Washington found no one there with any knowledge of the
subject.

However, there was more success when the Malaysian delegation to the UN was contacted in New York. There, a spokesman claimed to have no knowledge of the creation of a cyclone, but was willing to discuss weather control in his country.

The official said that, by using weather control technology, rain could be created and was being created over the nation's capital of Kuala Lumpur.

He said that often rain was created over the city to cleanse the air of the smoke emanating from Indonesia, and particularly Sumatra.

He indicated he did not know if the technology being used had been obtained from Russia, but it would appear that such technology to create rain on demand would not have been developed in a Third World country like Malaysia.

There have been numerous reports in recent years about strange changes in the jet stream, which have created alterations in the weather.

In 1982 a report by a Pentagon researcher, identified as L. Ponte, noted that "the Soviets have made advances in bending the all-important jet stream that sweeps across Siberia to set global wind patterns. By using explosive devices in the jet stream, scientists are trying to make it dip and rise in a wave that could replace the frigid Siberian winters with milder air from the South."

How this would affect weather in other parts of the world was not reported by Ponte, but there have been dozens of reports since his 1982 report about changes in the jet stream's normal behavior.

In 1996, a group of seven U.S. Air Force officers, who had prepared a research paper about weather warfare, issued a report, which concluded that there was technology under development that would provide "warriors of the future" with the means to control the course of military conflicts, including through the use of weather modification.

The study also states that manipulation of precipitation, storms and fog could improve America's own weather but could also involve controlling the ionosphere to guarantee U.S. dominance of worldwide communications.

Is major weather control really possible? Is weather manipulation a means of conducting war? If not, why in 1977 did the United States, the then-Soviet Union and dozens of other countries believe it was a good idea to enact a UN treaty banning weather manipulation as a means of conducting war?

In the afterword of his book, Sheldon concludes:

"Weather is the most powerful force we know. Whoever controls it can disrupt world economies with perpetual rainstorms or tornadoes; wipe out crops in a drought; cause earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis; close world airports and cause devastation on enemy battlefields. "We could all sleep better if a world leader said, ‘Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it, and it was true."

Guest Editorial: Hurricane Bush Most Dangerous

By

Chalk up the city of New Orleans as a cost of Bush's Iraq war. These were not enough helicopters to repair the breached levees and rescue people trapped by rising water. Not are there enough Louisiana National Guard soldiers available to help with rescue efforts and patrol against looting. The situation is the same in Mississippi.

The National Guard and helicopters are off on a fool's mission in Iraq.

The National guard is in Iraq because fanatical neo-conservatives in the Bush administration were determined to invade the Middle East and because the incompetent Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld refused to listen to the generals, who told him there were not enough regular troops available to do the job.

After the invasion, the arrogant Rumsfeld found out that the generals were right. The National Guard was called up to fill in the gaping gaps.

Now, the Guardsmen, trapped in the Iraqi quagmire, are watching on TV the families they left behind trapped by rising waters and wondering if the bloating bodies are family members. None knows where dislocated families are - but, shades of Fallujah, they do see their destroyed homes.

The mayor of New Orleans was counting on helicopters to put in place massive sandbags to repair the levee. However, someone called the few helicopters away to rescue people from rooftops. The rising water overwhelmed the massive pumping stations, and new Orleans disappeared under deep water.

What a terrible casualty of the Iraqi war - one of our oldest and most beautiful cities, a famous city, a historic city.

Distracted by its phony war on terrorism, the U.S. government had made no preparations in the event Hurricane Katrina brought catastrophe to New Orleans. No contingency plan existed. Only now, after the disaster, are FEMA and the Corps of Engineers trying to assemble the material and equipment to save New Orleans from the fate of Atlantis.

Even worse, articles in The New Orleans Times-Picayune and public statements by emergency management chiefs in New Orleans make it clear that the Bush administration slashed the funding for the Corps of Engineers' projects to strengthen and raise the New Orleans levees and and diverted the money to the Iraq war.

Walter Naestri, emergency management chief for Jefferson Parish, told The New Orleans Time Picayune on June 8, 2004: "It appears that the money has been moved in the president's budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that's the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can't be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us."

Why can't the U.S. government focus on America's needs and leave other countries alone? Why are American troops in Iraq, instead of protecting our own borders from a mass invasion by illegal immigrants? Why are American helicopters blowing up Iraqi homes instead of saving American homes in New Orleans?

How can the Bush administration be so incompetent as to expose Americans at home to dire risks by exhausting American resources in foolish foreign adventures? What kind of "homeland security" is this?

All Bush has achieved by invading Iraq is to kill and wound thousands of people, while destroying America's reputation. The only beneficiaries are oil companies capitalizing on a good excuse to jack up the price of gasoline and Osama bin Laden's recruitment.

What we have is a Republican war for oil company profits, while New Orleans sinks beneath the waters.

Experts Ponder High Radiation Levels at Pentagon

By Greg Szymanski

A radiation expert and a high-ranking Army major, who once headed the Pentagon's depleted uranium project, contend the Pentagon was hit by a missile, not a commercial jetliner, adding high radiation readings after the strike indicated depleted uranium also may have been used.

"I'm not an explosives or crash site expert, but I am highly knowledgeable in causes and effects related to nuclear radiation contamination. What happened at the Pentagon is highly suspicious, leading me to believe a missile with a depleted uranium warhead may have been used," said Leuren Moret in a telephone conversation from her Berkeley , Calif., home.

Moret, who has spent a life time working in the nuclear field, first as a staff scientist at the Livermore Nuclear weapons Laboratory in California, is now a member of The Radiation and Public Health Project, a privately funded group studying the devastating effects of depleted uranium especially in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The missile theory is also backed up by Army Maj. Doug Rokke (ret), a Ph.D. physicist and former military expert banished from the Pentagon after uncovering suspicious activities regarding the use of depleted uranium. "When you look at the whole thing, especially the crash site void of airplane parts, the size of the hole left and the fact the projectile's impact penetrated numerous concrete walls, it looks like the work of a missile," said Rokke. "When you look at the damage, it was obviously a missile. If you look at the WTC the disturbing flash hitting the tower right before the impact of the airplane, it also looks like a missile was used."

To illustrate that the government's jetliner theory is questionable, Moret said the quick actions of a friend near the Pentagon on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, provide even more suspicion.

Moret recalls on the tragic morning that once she saw the jetliner strike the twin towers and then heard about the Pentagon crash, she immediately called a close friend in Alexandria, Va., Dr. Janette Sherman.

Thinking radiation might be involved. Moret quickly asked Dr. Sherman, 77, a radiation expert and medical doctor who lived about 12 miles from the crash site, to get a Geiger counter reading.

What they found is not only astonishing but four years after 9-11, what's even more incredible is that their findings have been completely ignored by everyone, including the bush administration, the 9-11 Commissin and the mainstream media. All appear more interested in rubber stamping the official 9-11 story than getting at the real truth.

Dr. Sherman was downwind from the Pentagon on 9-11, and her Geiger counter readings show more than eight to ten times higher than normal," said Moret.

"Dr. Sherman, who is a well-respected radiation expert herself, then went about contacting the proper authorities in order to try and alert emergency responders of the radiation risk at the Pentagon crash site.," she said.

After she notified the Nuclear Industrial safety Agency. Experts from the Environmental Protection Agency and the FBI were alerted. According to Moret, radiation experts later confirmed high radiation levels at the Pentagon crash site.

Although Dr. Sherman's Geiger counter readings can't be a conclusive finding, another nuclear radiation expert Marion Fulk, agrees the positive reading, if anything is suspicious.

"It definitely looked suspicious but of course many factors have to be considered before a conclusion is reached," said Fulk in a telephone conversation. "The type of Geiger counter used by Dr. Sherman needs to be looked at as well as the possibility of the true source of the radiation, whether it is depleted uranium in a missile, ballast in the airplane or within the structure of the building hit."

Spotlight on Congress

Finally! Legislation Proposed to Legalize, Empower Civilian Border Patrols

Legislation to create a "corps of civilian volunteers" to help protect the nation's borders from undocumented migrants has been introduced by Rep. John Culberson (R-Tex.). The Border Protection Corps Act (H.R. 3622) has 46 cosponsors and is pending before the Homeland Security and Armed services committees.

Under the bill, border state governors could deploy civilians to help patrol the Mexican and Canadian borders, financed with $6.8 billion in unspent first-responder funds from the Department of Homeland Security.

Members of the civilian patrols would undergo background checks and be trained and under the direction of law enforcement officials. The bill echoes a proposal in July by U.S. customs and Border Protection Commissioner Robert Bonner, who said the government should work with civilian volunteers to protect the borders.

Culberson's bill would also prevent the government from releasing detained illegal aliens back onto the streets - requiring them to be deported or prosecuted if found to be a "dangerous criminal, a terrorist or a potential terrorist." Today millions of undocumented migrants remain in the United States after being freed pending deportation hearings - but never returning to court."I am convinced in my heart that the country has reached its tipping point on illegal immigration, fed up with the full-scale invasion now taking place," Culberson told a Washington newspaper. "This bill is a commonsense, stop-gap solution until the federal government has the manpower and the resources to full the breach."

The success of the Minuteman Project in Arizona is buiding momentum for Culberson's bill. In April Minutemen volunteers virtually closed a section of the Arizona border where large numbers had crossed daily.

9-11 Lies Under Fire

Truth Finally Emerging From Disaster

By Greg Szymanski

Former 9-11 commissioner Timothy Roemer avoided answering questions, running like a scared rabbit when confronted by William Rodriguez, the WTC custodian who wanted to know why his dissenting testimony was omitted in the final report, during a rally marking the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

"The 9-11 truth will be told. Bush and Cheney will be indicted for treason and murder. And immediately . . .the killing and illegal war in Iraq [will be stopped]."

These were the strong and poignant words ringing through the streets of New York Sunday as more than 250 9-11 truth protesters marched carrying "Impeach Bush" and "9-11 Inside Job" signs. The rally started at The New York Times Building and ended at the UN.

Organized by members of the web site, ny911truth.org, the rally was called to vent anger and make the public aware of the concerted effort by the mainstream media and the government to keep the truth about what really happened on 9-11 from the American people.

Although the corporate-elite media came out earlier in the day in force to cover the Ground Zero activities in honor of the 9-11 victims on the fourth anniversary of the tragedy, the mainstream media was predictably absent from protest rally just like it has been purposely absent for four years in covering compelling stories that contradict the government's official account.

Protesters passed by FOX, CNN and NBC buildings, to emphasize their feelings that media suppression has been primarily responsible for keeping America from the truth about 9-11 and largely responsible for allowing government officials to get away with the murder of 3,000 fellow citizens at Ground Zero.

Rodriguez, the last survivor of the North Tower, told of explosions emanating from the sub-level basement of the tower, prior to the plane striking the upper floors. His account has been systematically suppressed by the government, mainstream media and the 9-11 Commission.

"They have done everything in their power to ignore my statements, which directly contradict the government story," said Rodriguez as the crowd chanted, "Let the truth be told."

"I have at least 27 other people who are ready to testify that they also heard explosions, all of whom have been completely ignored by the 9-11 Commission. Also, the last drop of water fell from the glass and I realized all hope was lost to get at the truth when the testimony I gave the commission behind closed doors last year was omitted from the final report."

This time, however, Rodriguez broke new ground, when, for the first time after four years, a major news outlet carried his story.

His story aired on a one-hour, pre-recorded special for ABC radio and its nationwide affiliates. The story aired on the East Coast with comments by author David Ray Griffin, who has written a scathing report about at least 101 lies in the final 9-11 Commission report. Griffin, who has written two books about government lies and the government cover-up of 9-11, said the 9-11 Commission report, which received a national book award, should have been declared a "national disgrace."

Former Lt. Col. (USAF) Dr. Robert Bowman called for the immediate removal of President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and their cronies on charges of treason and murder. Bowman, who flew over 100 Vietnam combat missions and worked under presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, said he took a solemn oath to protect his country from foreign and domestic enemies, including a rogue president like Bush.

"9-11 is based on a pack of lies. It wasn't misjudgment; it was treason," said Bowman as he called for removal of what he called the mob and crooks in the White House.

Bowman told the audience that while walking in the march he received a kiss on the cheek from a member of a family that lost a loved one in the 9-11 attacks. He reassured the audience that those seeking truth about 9-11
and the illegal war in Iraq w ere "doing the right thing."

Donna Marsh gave the most emotional appeal. Tears came to her eyes and the eyes of many when she recalled how her pregnant daughter perished at Ground Zero because of what she called "criminals in the White House."

"My daughter called after the first plane hit at 8:46 a.m. and said she was told not to leave the South Tower because it was safe. In fact she was told not to leave or she would be fired," said Marsh.

She repeated her statements on a Monday morning radio show hosted By Joyce Riley called "The Power Hour" on Genesis Broadcasting Network.

"Where was NORAD? What really happened in those buildings? Why did they collapse so quickly like a controlled demolition? There are just so many unanswered questions the government refuses to answer. What conclusion can be made other than our own government was involved in killing my daughter and 3,000 other Americans?" asked Marsh.

"I want George W. Bush [to know], he can no longer use my daughter's name to spread war and killing throughout the world. From this day forward, I want my daughter's name removed permanently from the official
9-11 victims list."

After the two-hour rally, protesters doubled in size as they congregated at St. Mark's Church.

"As Americans we can no longer live in fear of George W. Bush and his band of criminals, who all belong behind bars in jail," said attorney Phil Berg. "I promise I will never stop searching for the truth, and one day the truth will be told."

Mercenaries Are Prowling New Orleans

Like Baghdad, Soldiers of Fortune On Armed Patrol in Louisiana

By Richard Walker

One subject that both local authorities and federal officials have been reticent to discuss is the role that private armies and mercenaries played in the providing security and law enforcement in Gulf of Mexico states hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina.

It now appears hundreds of former soldiers and law enforcement officers - possibly as many as 600 or 700 - were hired by private individuals, companies and corporations to protect assets in New Orleans and other parts of the storm-ravaged Gulf Coast region.

It is not known how many of those guns for hire were non-U.S. citizens who had served in foreign armies.

One journalist reported an encounter with two former Israeli veterans of the Israeli Defense Force who had seen service in the war in Lebanon. They were employees of ISL a major military contractor, and were armed with M-16 rifles. They had been flown into the New Orleans area by private jet and, at the request of a private individual, were guarding a gated community.

Blackwater, one of the largest international contractors, with mercenaries in Afghanistan, Iraq and many other trouble spots, has admitted that it sent at least 150 personnel to New Orleans and others to Alabama and Mississippi.

Blackwater has established a reputation for renting out specialized personnel, especially former members of special forces from around the world, to provide security for leading political figures in Iraq and Afghanistan.

At the outset of the Iraq occupation, Blackwater provided protection for the members of the U.S.-led Provisional Authority, in particular its chief, L.Paul Bremer, and also made bodyguards available to the Afghan president, Hamid Kazai.

In one of the more gruesome murders that took place in Iraq in 2004, Iraqi revolutionaries killed four Blackwater personnel in Fallujah in 2004. Iraqis then mutilated and burnt their bodies before hanging them from a bridge.

According to Blackwater, and other contractors, including ArmorGroup International, the mercenaries sent to New Orleans and parts of Mississippi helped in rescue efforts even though their main task was to protect individuals, property and other assets.

Blackwater claimed that those it sent were not former soldiers - in other words mercenaries - but retirred law enforcement officers armed with pistols and not the heavy weaponry supplied to personnel in war zones.

However, Blackwater personnel in New Orleans were seen carrying military-style shotguns that had been modified for urban warfare and fully automatic rifles.

Some Blackwater staffers who spoke to members of the media admitted they were former soldiers who had seen action in trouble spots across the globe. Others were observed sporting gold New Orleans law enforcement badges as though to indicate they had been hired by the city.

These were rumors, yet to be confirmed, that the Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco (D), who often appeared inept during the crisis, sanctioned the presence of mercenaries in order to beef up security in the wake of the collapse of the New Orleans police department and the delayed arrival of National Guard and regular Army troops.

In the past two years some members of the House and Senate have expressed disquiet about the 20,000 or more private mercenaries employed by the Defense Department overseas, and about an undisclosed number operation within the United States.

The use of mercenaries in New Orleans and in parts of Mississippi poses the question of whose authority they operated under. Blackwater told some journalists that local authorities were always informed before its personnel were sent to an area, raising yet another question of how often private security personnel have been used in domestic operations and in what context.

Mercenaries often provide protection for visiting dignitaries, but rumors have surfaced that they have also been involved in FBI operations and have been known to attend interrogations at Guantanamo.

Exit Iraq To Attack Iran

By James P. Tucker Jr.

The Bush administration may be planning an "exit strategy" from the current quagmire in Iraq by invading the neighboring country of Iran, a Middle East expert warns. "The lack of any strong response in the political system or the media to the Iraq adventure, even though public opinion has turned against it, may encourage the Tush administration to engage in further military adventures in the Middle East - as a sort of flight from dealing with the problems they have created by creating new ones," said the expert, Rashid Khalidi.

Khalidi is the Edward Said professor of Arab Studies and the director of the Middle East Institute at Columbia University. His words, first reported in the journal White House Weekly were contained in remarks prepared for delivery to the American Political Science Association.

A possible attack on Iran is predicated on a set of assumptions, he said. The first is that the Pentagon would drastically reduce the exposure of U.S. armed forces in Iraq over the next eight to 10 months.

"This cut-and-run policy would, of course, never be announced as such and may not prove to be feasible if the situation there continues to deteriorate - although that deterioration may paradoxically also accelerate it," Khilidi said. "Such a policy would be carried out under cover of false claims that Iraqi forces had been fully trained, that there was political progress around the constitution and elections, and that generally all was for the best in the best of all possible worlds in Iraq.

Not all U.S. bases in Iraq would be removed, he said. The administration would just withdraw "Most U.S. forces to permanent bases that have already been built in distant and inaccessible parts of the country, leaving Iraqis in the heavily populated areas to fend for themselves," he said.

"That this is the nature of what is being planned is indicated by the focus of pro-war propaganda by those inside and outside the administration, who are campaigning for this new war; who are by and large the same lot who campaigned for the last one," Khalidi said. "Certainly, there is much to indicate that the preparations for such an attack on Iran are currently being completed as new air and naval bases are being built in Central Asia, the trans-Caspian region, Afghanistan, the Gulf and elsewhere.

But despite the threat, Khalidi said he thinks it is "unlikely that those advocating this war will manage to pull this one off" because they are opposed by "sane individuals."

These include, he said, the "bulk of our permanent government in the intelligence and diplomatic field; by the bulk of our senior officer corps of the Army and Marines, whose men and women in the field will pay the highest price if such a foolish policy is pursued, and by other...individuals in Washington, of whom there are many."

But with the "neo-cons and muscular nationalists currently in charge of foreign policy, nothing can be ruled out simply because it seems to fly against logic and rationality," he said. This is nothing if not a faith-based, fact-free administration."

As if on cue, the following day, a large think tank, the Iran Policy Committee, issued a "white paper" in Washington making the case for war.

The Iran Policy Committee is supported by such neo-con all-stars as Douglas Feith, Frank Gaffney, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleezza Rice.

"The national security strategy of the United States of America is a proactive campaign against terrorists, state sponsors and proliferators of nuclear weapons, all of which describe the government of Iran," reported the Iran Policy Committee.

The "strategy calls for pre-emptive and preventive military action against hostile states and terrorist groups seeking to develop weapons of mass production," the paper said. "Iran is a case study awaiting American action to help its own people take down their rulers."

Fluoride Fighters Win

By Mark Anderson

Salem, Ore. - Two fluoridation bills expired for lack of support, as the 2005 session of the state Legislature adjourned. If even one of these Oregon bills would have made it to the desk of gov. Ted Kulongoski, a fluoride supporter, then some 2.7 million more people in 54 Oregon cities would have been served fluorisilicic acid, an EPA regulated toxic waste product, socialist style.

This is a significant victory by the anti-fluoridation people and organizations that steadfastly maintain that mass medication of the population by administering fluoride via public eater supplies is almost worthless for "preventing tooth decay in children" (which the propaganda proponents have prattled for decades); but, worse, carries significant risks regarding human health.

Lynn Campbell, a writer and researcher who has been looking into the effects of fluoridation and tracking the legislative process in Oregon, is happy that the fluorocrats (bureaucrats obsessed with fluoridating everyone) were thwarted in their latest schemes to require all Oregon cities with populations exceeding 10,000 to inject fluoride into their municipal water systems.

Campbell noted the mass medicine pushers rarely come up for air. Similar pushes to get more of Oregon's population ingesting fluoride took place in 1995, 1999, 2001 and this year. All were defeated. So, she fully experts the fluorocrats to try again early in 2007.

The fluorocrats used a tricky tactic to turn a generic water bill into a Trojan horse by inserting new language transforming it into fluoridation bill.

They steered it to the House Election and Rules Committee, an inappropriate place for such a bill, because some of it members seemed more hospitable to fluoridation, Campbell said.

Thanks to alert citizens, Oregon remains, along with New Jersey and Hawaii, among the least fluoridated states.

Finland, Sweden and Holland, advanced countries that refuse to pollute their water supplies with fluoridated poisons, cut tooth decay rates by 92 percent, 82 percent and 72 percent respectively over the past 20 years. While in the super-fluoride saturated U.S., public health dentists barely cut rates by 50 percent over the same period (since 1984).

Compared to Europe, America is bhind the times, where even the comparatively few cities that experimented with fluoride are phasing it out. America stands as an anomaly among nations, with too many uninformed Americans believing the big lie, repeated over the last 50-plus years, that "fluoridation is safe, effective" and universally used. Overwhelming unbiased, scientific evidence demonstrates it is neither safe nor effective.

"It is difficult to conclude a priori that teeth which spontaneously pit are stronger teeth. Further data suggest that the effects of fluorosis are not merely discoloration and pitting, but fracturing caries and tooth loss as well, it is difficult to conclude that such effects are not adverse." (Director of EPA's Office of Drinking, Water, Victor Kimm, Memorandum to William Ruckelshaus, 7/26/84)

Campbell, whose writings delve into fluoride's effects on the human body, recently wrote, in an article posted on the website of the Fluoride Action Network: "it is well documented that rates of dental fluorosis, defined by Tabler's Medical Encyclopedia as ‘chronic fluorine poisoning' have been climbing dramatically in the U.S. and are significantly higher in fluoridated communities."

Fluorosis, a permanent damage to teeth that appears as spotting, striping, pitting and /or staining, is "clear, visible evidence of excessive exposure to fluoride while a child's teeth were developing," Campbell noted. "Even the dental community agrees that fluoride doesn't protect the chewing surfaces of teeth from ‘pit fissure and decay,' which accounts for almost 90 percent of decay in children's permanent teeth. Sealants work, and that's why they're being used.

ACUTELY TOXIC

Like lead, fluoride accumulates in the body. It's considered more acutely toxic than lead. Numerous state regulations governing rental housing warn of the dangers of children ingesting lead paint chips. But somehow it's OK to justify the ingestion of fluoride by anyone of any age on the basis that it helps "the children."

Furthermore, the FDA recently told a congressional subcommittee that "it has never even reviewed (let alone approved) the safety and effectiveness of any fluoride-containing product meant for ingestion for the purpose of reducing tooth decay," Campbell noted, adding, "So, if fluoride works topically and systemic (ingestion) forms do not have FDA approval, why would we implement a systemic form of delivery, with no control over dose through the water supply?"

The Physicians Desk Reference acknowledges that some people are hypersensitive to fluoride, which appears to affect about 1 percent of a population. In Oregon, that would be 34,200 people. Not to mention that there is evidence that fluoride's presence in water systems is raising toxicity levels in salmon.

Evidence presented at the First Citizens' Conference on Fluoride recently held in Canton, New York, showed that fluoridation damaged the brain, increases levels of lead in children's blood and therefore leads to behavioral disorders and brain damage. It also showed that humans are accumulating fluoride in their bones, that fluoride's toxicity is systemic in the human body, and that the current safe drinking water standards for fluoride were fraudulently authored by officials at the Environmental Protection Agency who were pressured.

These findings were presented by a variety of scientists and researchers, including a senior EPA scientist and a doctor of the Forsyth Dental Center. Both of these individuals have been fired and have had their careers jeopardized after participation in this conference.

Moreover, there is strong evidence of a link between fluoride and numerous health problems including osteorporosis and a rare form of bone cancer in adolescent boys known as osteosarcoma.

Fluoride's Side Effects Ignored

By Ralph Forbes

Establishment hacks, serving junk science, spout that fluoride is good for your teeth and bones. So good, that for a short while fluoride was used as a treatment for osteoporosis, until reality exposed the dark side of the therapy: Fluoride intake of 20-40 mg/day can inhabit the important enzyme phosphatases needed for calcium utilization. Fluoride thickens but weakens bones. The bones may get thicker but they become more brittle or develop bone spurs.

Although fluorine may thicken bones, the bones are not any stronger. The new bone is weaker. [JAMA New England Journal of Medicine, 32, #12, (1990):802-09]

It not only weakens the structural system but side effects include frequent gastric irritation and nausea. Sometines, the patients developed painful bone deformations. [JAMA 243:466, 1980]

In four separate studies, increased hip fracture rates are linked to fluoride in the water. The latest study calculated an 86 percent increased risk for people over 65 who have been drinking fluorinated water. [JAMA, 1990-1995]

Mayo Clinic researchers reported that fluoride treatment of osteoporosis increased bone fracture rate and bone fragility. [JAMA, March 22,1990]

Fluoride puts both men and women at risk for osteoporosis, but it also increases the rate of painful, deadly bone cancer in young boys.

Since 1990, the National cancer Institute, the New Jersey Department of Health, and the safe Water Foundation all found that the incidence of osteosarcoma ( a type of bone cancer) was substantially higher in young men exposed to fluoridated water as compared to those who were not.

So the fluoridationist zealots cheered a report published by Chester Douglas that claimed the odds of developing osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, after drinking fluoridated water was "not statistically different" thant he risk from drinking non-fluoridated water.

However, the cheering stopped when one of Douglas's doctoral students, Elise Bassin, published a thesis using his own data that concluded: "Among males, exposure to fluoride at or above the target level was associated with an increased risk of developing osteosarcoma. The association was most apparent between ages 5-10, with a peak at 6 to 8 years of age." Patients with the cancer live an average of three years after diagnosis.

Richard Wiles, senior vice president of the Environmental Working Group, told the British newspaper The Observer "I've spent 20 years in public health trying to protect kids from toxic exposure. Even with DDT, you don't have the consistently strong data that the compound can cause cancer as you now have with fluoride."

"The safety of fluoride in America's tap water is a pressing health concern....the weight of the evidence strongly supports the conclusion that millions of boys in these fluoridated communities are at significantly increased risk of developing bone cancer as a result."

"The Harvard dissertation...obviously had merit because Bassin was awarded her doctorate," writes The Observer.

Now federal investigators and Harvard University officials are probing whether Chester Douglass, a professor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, buried research signifying a link between fluoridated tap water and bone cancer in adolescent boys.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, which funded Douglass's $1.3 million study, and the university are investigation why the epidemiologist told federal officials he found no significant correlation between fluoridated water and osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Douglass also is editor in chief for the industry-funded Colgate Oral Care Report.

"It appears Douglass violated federal research rules. Fluoride safety is a major public health issue, and a Harvard professor potentially falsifying public research results has huge public health implications," said Wiles, who added that Douglass's role in editing a newsletter funded by Colgate-Palmolive Co." creates the appearance of a conflict of interest."

Coming issues of your AFP Health Supplement will inform you of real science that both prevents and reverses osteoporosis.

Artificial Sweeteners Prove Poisonous

All That's Sweet Isn't Honey, Warn Health Advocates

By Julia Foster

Four out of five Americans now consume some sort of artificial sweetener. Aspartame, saccharin and sucralose are the most common. However, recent information indicates that these sweeteners may be more damaging to your health than previously thought. Your body is more than 10 degrees warmer than the temperature at which aspartame's methyl ester bond breaks down into toxic chemicals, including Methanol and formaldehyde. The chemical sweetener aspartame is sold under the brand name of Ultrasweet. Besides being a likely carcinogen, saccharin, which goes by the trade name Sweet ‘N Low, has a discomforting metallic aftertaste. To some the very name saccharin sounds creepy.

But sucralose sounds even sweeter than sucrose - and it is - 600 times sweeter than common table suugar. The brand name Splenda is a mnemonic suggesting vibrant splendor.

And the "lose" suffix at the end of the artificial name suggest the more of this sweet stuff you ingest, the more weight you'll lose.

However, Sucralose is so alien that the body doesn't recognize it as a sugar - or any sort of nutrient. But it's not calorie-free. It's bulked up with dextrose and maltodextrin until it has 25 percent of the calories of sugar.

Splenda became the nation's No. 1 selling artificial sweetener almost overnight. Between 2000 and 2004, the percentage of U.S. households using Splenda products jumped from 3 to 20 percent. In a one-year period, Splenda sales topped $177 million compared with $62 million spent on aspartame-based Equal and $52 million on saccharin-based Sweet "N Low.

Sucralose is "made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar," or so the slogan claims.

Sucralose is touted by its manufacturers as "the most natural of all artificial sweeteners," but the claim "has more to do with clever marketing than with chemistry," says Eric Walters, a biochemist at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago.

DANGEROUS BREW

Sucralose might start from sugar, but its chemical structure is ominously different: Sugar, or a sucrose molecule, is a disaccharide that contains two single sugars, glucose and fructose, bound together. It has three pairs of oxygen and hydrogen atoms. But synthetic sucralose is a chlorinated fructo-galactose molecule with three chlorine atoms.

Truckloads of sugar are transmogrified into sucralose, a halogenated synthetic chemical, by a five-step complex chemical process, using the chemicals chlorine and phosgene gas, in a well-guarded and infamously enigmatic chemical refinery in Alabama.

Splenda bears more chemical similarity to DDT (both are organochlorines) than it does to sugar. Fat-soluble substances, such as DDT, can remain in your fat for decades and devastate your health. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found dioxin, another toxic byproduct of chlorine, to be 300, 000 time more potent as a carcinogen than DDT.

These chlorinated contaminants are also hormone disrupters because they mimic estrogen. The EPA has observed and documented hormonal imbalance, suppressed immune systems, reproductive infertility and alterations in fetal development of animals.

Dioxin has been linked to endometriosis immune system impairment, diabetes neurotoxicity, birth defects, decreased fertility and reproductive dysfunction in both women and men.

Dr. Joseph Mercola found from the research which is primarily extrapolated from animal studies, that you will absorb and average of 15 percent of the sucralose into your digestive system. The sucralose is then stored in your body.

In one human study , according to Mercola, one of the eight participants did not excrete any sucralose even after three days. Clearly his body was absorbing and metabolizing this chemical.

Because sucralose's chlorine atoms carry a stronger charge than the oxygen atoms they replace, it locks into the cell's receptors even stronger than sucrose, creating an excitotoxin-like addiction affect: Bet you can't stop with just one little1,6-Dichloro-1,6-dideoxy-beta-D-fructofuranosyl-4-chloro-4-deoxy-alpha-D-galactopyranside.

The best known excitotoxins are the exicitatory amino acids that can produce lesions in the central nervous system similar to those of Huntingdon's chorea or Alzheimer's disease.

Excitotoxicity is thought to contribute ro neuronal cell death associated with stroke.

Dowsers Divine Link Between Disease and Geographic Locale

By Jack Phillips

The July 12 edition of The New York Times warned cancer patients that the coming batch of cancer drugs were going to be ultra expensive, perhaps $100,000 per year. A recently published artricle in The American Dowser, a publication of the American Society of Dowsers in Danville, Vt., suggests that some cancer patients might not need any drugs at all.

This article contains a translation of a report of the work of Baron Gustav von Pohl, performed in Germany and recorded in 1930 in Zeitschrift fur Krebsforchung, a German journal of cancer research.

With the cooperation of the mayor of the town of Vilsbiburg, von Pohl, a talented dowser, was able to locate houses where cancer deaths had occurred, the rooms and the very beds that had held the unfortunate cancer patients.

When he had finished his survey, the mayor, in the presence of witnesses, compared the local physician's death certificates with von Pohl's information and could find no error.

The mayor's official report said, in part:

It is an amazing fact that all cancer deaths in Vilsbiburg were found to have occurred to people who slept above strong radiations associated with underground streams of water. If Baron von Pohl marked a house as dangerous, he was also able to predict the room that was dangerous and the situation of the deathbed from outside the house. In a multi-level house he located dangerous rooms on all floors. Subsequent questionings of the descendants of the deceased, by the burgomaster or the accompanying officer, proved that the baron's predictions were correct without exception. He was even able to predict which of t wo beds in a room the deceased had slept in to the amazement of everyone present. His predictions were accurate even in the case of a tower apartment, which was 22 meters above the ground. Conclusion: It is ascertained by this investigation that von Pohl has proved that cancer deaths result, without exception, in houses and/or rooms and /or beds, which lie above strong underground watercourses.

Physicians in Germany criticized the investigation saying that there were so many cancer cases in Vilsbiburg that the test was too easy.

However, von Pohl repeated his hear in Grafenau, a city with significantly lower cancer death rate. At the request of the German Central Committee for Cancer Research his work was observed by a local physician by the name of Dr. Graves.

Between 1914 and 1929, there had been only 17 cancer deaths in Grafenau when the study was conducted.

All 17 cases were found to have been sleeping over strong noxious Earth radiations. This was determined by locating underground streams associated with this radiation without prior knowledge of medical records of cancer deaths.

These investigations, unfortunately, encouraged opportunists and unqualified dowsers to offer their services to fill the demands of an uninformed public. A scandal arose, which ultimately led health authorities in Germany to pontificate that there were no cancer houses and no cancer causing noxious energy.

However some oncologists in Germany are reported to advise patients from whom they have removed cancerous tissue to find a different place to live.

In this country, about 30 years ago, a retired lawyer named Herbert Douglas became interested in Dowsing and made a study of noxious energy and disease in the Bennington, Vt., area. He found that arthritis, scoliosis, cancer and many other diseases were associated with this energy. The local newspaper, the Benningron Banner, contained sever articles about his exploits.

When douglas reported his findings to health authorities in Washington, D.C., he was told that they were interesting and merited further study.

It is also reported that an upstate New York dowser, confined to a wheelchair because of Arthritis, learnign of Douglas's work, found noxious radiation under his bed.

As an experiment he convinced his wife to change beds with him and in about three years was walking without a cane. His wife, however, had arthritis.
