What the government isn't telling you about the Oklahoma City bombing could be fatal.
The U.S. government has been accused of perpetrating a massive cover-up involving the type of bomb that caused the explosion that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, killing 167 persons.
That is the conclusion of not only Ted L. Gunderson, a retired senior special agent formerly in charge of the Los Angeles field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but also the actual designer of the type of bomb believed to be the real cause of the massive Oklahoma City blast.
In its May 15 issue, The SPOTLIGHT, in an exclusive article, revealed that Gunderson, after conducting his own in-depth investigation, had concluded that a super high technology so-called barometric bomb, known scientifically as an electro-hydrodynamic gaseous fuel device, had been used to destroy the federal office building.
This is in contrast to the widely held belief, fostered by U.S. government investigative agencies led by the FBI and BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), that the bast was created by a 4,800 pound concoction of ammonium nitrate fertilizer and fuel oil.
In a extensive interview with the actual designer of the device, Michael J. Riconocsciuto, The SPOTLIGHT learned of the details behind the design of the device and that Riconosciuto has been in touch with agents of the BATF at the bureau's forensic facilities since the bombing.
"I am talking with the people in charge of forensics at the lab in San Francisco," Riconosciuto told this reporter and Gunderson during the May 10 three-way telephone interview. "I am talking and writing and corresponding with somebody who is in charge of the forensics."
What agency? Riconosciuto was asked.
"The Treasury Department-the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms division of the Treasury Department," he replied.
"What do you think of that, Ted?" this reporter asked.
"Yeah," the retired FBI official said, also somewhat stunned by the revelation.
"Go ahead," this reporter told Riconosciuto.
"My friend out there [San Francisco]...okay?...lost one of his close friends and a mutual close friend in this blast. And he knows that this [the government's story about the fertilizer bomb] is a bunch of happy horse [expletive deleted]."
Riconosciuto was speaking from the Federal Correctional Center at Estill, South Carolina, where he is imprisoned on drug charges, for which he claims he was framed for offering damaging testimony in the so-called Inslaw case, involving the alleged theft during the 1980s of a highly specialized computer software system by high- level federal officials (see SPOTLIGHT, March 13, and others). He was warned, he explained during the interview (by a U.S. Justice Department official prior to giving his testimony that was potentially damaging to government officials involved in the software theft), that he would suffer repercussions.
FURTHER TROUBLE?
Friends of Riconosciuto warned that his revelations about the Oklahoma\z City bombing could also have repercussions for him, particularly in his present circumstances, but he decided to proceed with detailing what he knows.
The bomb expert said that he had conducted extensive research involving the barometric bomb's technology starting with his work at Hercules, California and a division of Pyrotronics Corporation, a firm of which his late father was one of the founders. For 35 years it was a major fireworks and explosives manufacturing firm.
In its heyday, he said, Hercules employed close to 1,400 people.
"We were commercial manufacturers of explosives," he explained. "We were commercial manufacturers of finished military ordnance and at Hercules we had one of the largest manufacturing plants in the United States for ammonium nitrate fertilizer and ammonium nitrate explosive products."
TWO-BLAST DETONATION
In simple terms, the device designed by Riconosciuto, as explained in the The SPOTLIGHT, is discharged by two separate detonations. The first or primary detonation produces an cloud by mixing aqueous (liquid) ammonium nitrate and aluminum silicate, which is then electrically charged. A second detonation takes place immediately afterward, igniting the highly-charged explosive cloud.
The bomb, which the expert describes as an "energy transfer device," combines "a fuel-air explosive with an enhanced energy transfer phenomena developed at Hercules." The result is "an over- driven detonation that delivers more energy from the chemical constituents in the explosive. It is a very specialized type of explosion."
He said that in the past, Aviation Weekly and Space Technology and Design News magazines have detailed the work he has done with the energy transfer device.
The expert described the tell-tale signs of his bomb that were evident to him upon studying news photos of the site of the Oklahoma City disaster.
"There is a shear line," he said, "that goes from the basement all the way up. That does not conform to the regular blast dispersion pattern of a normal chemical explosion.
"The most important thing that a forensic explosives expert wouldn't notice is the demarcation and transition between Class A and Class C damage, Class A being much lesser damage." (An expert wouldn't be looking for this type of technology.-Ed.)
EVIDENCE CLEAR
He also confirmed another tell-tale sign, which is a metal light pole that is seen in photographs at the northeast corner of the devastated building. While only a short distance from the crater created by the blast, the pole remains erect and unbent.
He said this resulted "because it was in the near field of the cloud. The cloud is volumetrically initiated and is sequentially initiated making the blast directional."
Riconosciuto said that he worked on the technology during the early 1980's while serving as director of research for a joint venture between the Wackenhut Corporation, based in Coral Gables, Florida, and the Cabazon tribe of Native Americans, who live on a reservation around Indio, California, located to the south of Palm Springs.
According to the bomb expert, the Wackenhut-Cabazon joint venture sought to develop and/or manufacture certain materials that are used in military and national security operations, including night vision goggles, machine-guns, fuel-air explosives, and biological and chemical weapons.
He explained that since the Cabazon reservation is considered a sovereign nation, as such its sovereign immunity allowed the Indians' joint venture with Wackenhut to pursue on the reservation the development and/or manufacture of materials whose development or manufacture would be subject to stringent controls off the reservation.
Riconosciuto said that particulars of the joint venture were detailed in a 1991 series of articles that appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and he cited in particular one article in the September 9, 1991 edition, headlined "Tribe's Intriguing Plans for High Tech Military Projects."
"Of all the activities at the Cabazon Reservation," he quoted from the article, "the most baffling is a series of international military and security projects that seem to be lifted from the pages of a spy novel.
"Two years after John Philip Nichols was hired as head tribal administrator the Cabazons began preparing an array of projects involving combustible cartridges for the M-1 tank, laser-sighted assault rifles, portable rocket systems and biological weapons.
"Many of the tribe's proposals grew out of its partnership with Wackenhut International, a security firm led by former officials of the CIA, FBI, National Security Agency, defense and federal law enforcement, according to Wackenhut annual reports..."
Wackenhut, according to Riconosciuto, has 180,000 employees
and during the Vietnam War reportedly maintained for the government
the types of files and security on people and groups that the
government wasn't supposed to keep. He said the giant firm is
under contract for all security for nuclear testing and development,
the Nevada nuclear test site, all national laboratories, and is
now replacing military police guards at various facilities and
providing fire prevention services for all of the space projects.
Gunderson said that the head of the firm is George Wackenhut, who was at one time with the FBI.
During the early 1980's according to a technician familiar with Riconosciuto's work, a prototype of the electro-hydrodynamic gaseous fuel bomb was tested at the Army's Picatinny arsenal and proving grounds in New Jersey.
SHOCKED BY RESULTS
"They [government officials] were surprised at the bomb's energy," he said. "They never expected anything like it."
"The security clearance level on the bomb's technology is unbelievable," Riconosciuto explained. "There's a folder that we did...Ted [he addressed Gunderson], do you remember the yellow folder?"
"Yes," Gunderson replied.
"That yellow folder was actually in President Ronald Reagan's hands... They made a classification level on this technology. They were terrified over even the thought of a terrorist group getting their hands on it. Wouldn't you say that's accurate, Ted?"
"Yes," Gunderson replied.
To describe the power of a conventional air-fuel device, not one enhanced with the "energy transfer phenomena," Riconosciuto referred to an Army manual that describes the military BLU-82/5 15,000 pound general purpose bomb. He quoted as follows from the annual:
"Also known as the `Daisy Cutter' or the `Big Blue 82,' this is a cast steel case filled with 12,600 pounds of DBA22M, an aqueous mixture of ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder and polystyrene soup as a binder. It produces an explosion of a size and intensity that observers have described as the closest thing to a nuclear bomb and is used not only for mine clearing [such as during the Persian Gulf War] but to create landing pads for helicopters and VTOL [vertical take-off and landing] aircraft. Producing blast overpressures in excess of 1,000 pounds per square inch, it literally shears off trees and other obstructions at ground level."
"The only way to understand the force of the concussion it brings to bear on the human body is to picture a man being hit by a baseball bat at full length and to imagine him being hit by that kind of force at every exposed portion of his body simultaneously," the bomb expert said.
"Anybody who is within a thousand feet of one of these things going off, if they are not vaporized-if not right in the fire cone- if there is anything left of them, their bones are just pulverized. This is an engineered device with 12,000-plus pounds of a commercially made explosive-DBA-22M, which is one of our [Hercules'] products.
"It is exceedingly difficult to make. You cannot do it in any unsupervised situation, especially in the back of a barn-on a farm- with some oil drums and paddles."
He said that when an "improvised fertilizer bomb goes off the bulk of the ammonium nitrate fertilizer does not detonate; does not contribute to the force of the explosion. Basically, you are just spreading fertilizer."
With a 4,800 pound fertilizer bomb, which federal agents claim caused the destruction in Oklahoma City, much of the fertilizer- fuel oil mixture would not have exploded and would have been plastered all over the site, which, according to all reports, was not the case.
"This is absolute terror technology," Riconosciuto stated.
A technician familiar with the bomb told The SPOTLIGHT that the Riconosciuto energy transfer device, if used to its utmost potential, could release the destructive power of a 5-10 kiloton atomic bomb.
Asked whom he thought was behind the Oklahoma City blast, explosives
wizard Riconosciuto said, "I have no opinion on that because
I have no direct knowledge. All I have is direct knowledge of
what we did in the Wackenhut-Cabazon joint venture."

Technology to construct a superbomb was mysteriously stolen prior to the Oklahoma City incident.
Various records and components enabling the construction of the electro-hydrodynamic gaseous fuel bomb, which according to a former senior special agent in charge of the Los Angeles office of the FBI was responsible for devastating the federal building April 19 in Oklahoma City, were stolen several years ago from a warehouse in the state of Washington.
These shocking details were learned in an interview arranged for The SPOTLIGHT, with the bomb's designer, Michael J. Riconosciuto, a Stanford University trained demolitions expert, by retired FBI boss Ted L. Gunderson, also a nationally recognized counter-terrorism specialist.
Riconosciuto explained to The SPOTLIGHT, with Gunderson listening in, how a warehouse operated by his California-based Hercules Research Corporation in Aberdeen, Washington, was broken into during the summer of 1988 and its contents carted away in rented trucks.
FIRST ENTRY
"This was a huge warehouse full of laboratory test equipment, mainly in storage" Riconosciuto explained. "All the research material from this bomb work was in storage there. This was a facility surrounded by a 14-foot high chain-link fence with concertina barbed wire. This was a secure facility.
"Anyway, these people had broken into it and were in the process of starting to remove things when the local Aberdeen Police stopped them. They did not arrest them.
"They let them go," he continued "Now, the building was open. The police called the landlord of the building, the person from whom we were leasing the building."
Riconosciuto explained how the building, surrounded by the high fence and without any signs indicating what it was being used for, had probably been a curiosity among residents of Aberdeen, including the police, particularly since it was located right in the middle of the down town section of the community.
"The police were inside, seeing everything inside-all of the technical gear. The landlord tells them who has the building and the landlord gets in touch with us. We immediately go there.
"We come down and secured the building. We tell the police who owns the stuff. We bring documentation. They want to know. They see a fortune worth of equipment...We show them ownership, everything. We give the landlord contacts, 24-hour numbers and, in California, our main office, a 24-hour emergency contact."
ITEMS IMPOUNDED
During this break-in attempt nothing of substance was taken-only a few items which the police impounded," he added. "They took the names of these people and then let them go. Now, we complained. We wanted them arrested. We also went to the government. We had a cognizant security officer. We filed a complaint.
"We went to Gen. Brady in Washington, D,.C., who steered us to the security people at Fort Lewis, Washington. We had a building set aside there for us to move from the facility in Aberdeen... We had rented trucks and had a crew and were in the process of loading up when Gen. Brady called the head of security at Fort Lewis and said to them he had been ordered not to get involved with this and to turn it over to local civilian authorities. That was about three days after the first break-in.
"Then," the demolitions expert further detailed, "less than two weeks later was the second break-in. A half-dozen U-Haul trucks or more show up at 2 o'clock in the morning and there's a whole crew of people. They use hydraulic jacks to spread the door jamb on the front door, and they take the door off.
NOTE OF APPROVAL
"Then, the cops show up and one of the party has a note from my ex-girl friend, saying that he has permission to take a few things out of the building. The police don't call us, they don't challenge them. They allow them at this odd hour of the morning to load up these U-Haul trucks.
"I'm talking of millions of dollars worth of test equipment. There is no dollar value on the research records they took."
The SPOTLIGHT asked if any actual bombs were taken.
"No," Riconosciuto replied. "There were detonator components- classified detonator components."
The bomb expert said that these components and other material taken from the building had a classification even higher than "Q" level, a top security clearance for nuclear devices of the U.S. Department of Energy.
"Above `Q'" Riconosciuto explained, "you have `special tickets' or `special clearances' and you have `Special Compartmentalization Information' [SCI]. This was all SCI `special ticket' material. Every piece of it.
"All of this stuff going on is something that not even a Tom Clancy novel could cover with any credibility," Riconosciuto said.
To verify the veracity of Riconosciuto's claims, The SPOTLIGHT was able to make contact with a physicist at one of the nation's top three national laboratories. After studying detailed scientific documents provided by Gunderson he said Riconosciuto's claims and the ability to construct such an infernal machine are valid.
He said he had doubts himself since the bombing that a simple fertilizer bomb had been the cause of such devastation, and that the ability to so precisely direct the blast with Riconosciuto's device seemed more logical.
Gunderson, who since making the contact with Riconosciuto and others for The SPOTLIGHT has been "ordered" by what he described as "a legal entity" to curtail his contact with the press concerning the Oklahoma City bombing.
During one on his last contacts on the subject with The SPOTLIGHT he said that he had some concern about the safety of people involved in the case, including Riconosciuto and his own family.
He explained that an effort had been made by someone to determine the address of the home of his son.
"Of course," he said, "if anything nasty happens to any of the principals in this case then it just adds credibility to our findings."
The national media has failed to notice that not just Gunderson, among long-time FBI Officials, are surfacing to be critical of the way the bureau is conducting its activities as the nation's principle law enforcement agency.
Eugene Glenn, head of the FBI's field office in Salt Lake City, has stepped forward charging that the bureau's investigation of the 1992 shooting of the wife and young son of Randy Weaver during a stand-off in Idaho was a cover-up to protect the chief deputy of Deputy of Director Louis Freeh.
Glenn, who was the bureau field commander during the stand-off, has charged that Larry Potts, recently named by Attorney General Janet Reno as deputy director of the bureau, said that the FBI review of the incident covered up key facts because the review officer, Charles Mathews, was a close associate and one-time aide to Danny Coulson, who was Potts' deputy during the Idaho incident.
Potts approved rules allowing deadly force to be used in Idaho. Later, he played a key role in the "CS gas" attack on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, which led to the deaths of more than 80 Davidian members, including 25 children.
Until recently, Potts was in charge of the investigation of
the Oklahoma City bombing as well.

Just as in Waco, the government is rushing to destroy forensic evidence at the Oklahoma City site.
Critics of the Justice Department's handling of the Oklahoma City bombing are questioning the motives behind the decision to hurriedly blast away with explosives the remaining remnants of the devastated Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, where 167 persons lost their lives.
In fact, the building was flattened by demolition experts even before the remains of the last two victims of the April 19 bombing could be located in the debris of the structure in downtown Oklahoma City.
The attorney for Timothy McVeigh, 27, who has been charged with committing the terrorist act, was allowed just 24 hours to inspect the building for evidence that might benefit his client's defense before the demolition experts from the Maryland firm of controlled Demolition Inc. moved in to use explosives to bring down the remainder of the shattered structure.
WEAK DEFENSE
Also being questioned by some was the seeming lack of a spirited effort by McVeigh's federal court-appointed attorney, Stephen Jones, to get an extended delay of the demolition to allow a full-scale probe of the ruins, other than that conducted by the FBI and BATF.
Earlier, Nebraska attorney John DeCamp had prepared the paperwork to seek a 30-day delay in the demolition.
The former Nebraska state senator told The SPOTLIGHT that he had not only spent days preparing the paperwork, for the most part at his own expense, but had secured the services of Pat Kennedy, a noted explosives expert from Chicago who had been a key investigator of the World Trade Center blast in New York City, as well as the services of an equally respected structural engineer.
However, when set to file for the delay, DeCamp suddenly found himself without a client, who indicated that he had no desire to press the issue further. The client was a victim of the April 19 bombing.
Next thing, according to DeCamp, he was contacted by Jones who wanted him to release Kennedy as an expert to inspect the building for McVeigh's defense, a request which the Nebraska attorney quickly granted.
Later, he was told by Jones that the decision had been made not to use Kennedy because his fee would be $30,000 and that he had decided to use someone else, whom he did not identify.
DeCamp, troubled by another upsetting turn of events, told Jones that he would go out and personally raise the needed funds to hire Kennedy .Jones, he said, spurned his offer.
Explosives experts and a structural engineer with whom The SPOTLIGHT discussed the rush to demolish the building all stated that there was no way that an adequate inspection could be made of the structure in the limited time provided the defense.
They also said that now, with the demolition of the building and clearing and bulldozing of the site for a planned memorial to those who died in the bombing, any chance of determining some cause of the blast other than the findings of government probers has ben totally lost.
The findings of Ted Gunderson, a retired high level FBI official, who has concluded that a far more sophisticated device than a fuel and fertilizer bomb had been used in the terrorist attack, were faxed by Gunderson himself to Jones, apparently without response or acknowledgment.
If Kennedy had been used in the inspection, efforts were going
to be made to put him in touch with experts familiar with the
more-sophisticated bomb, which presents distinctly different evidence
at the site of its detonation than the far simpler and crude fuel
oil and fertilized bomb.

If you ever said: "It can't happen here," it's time to rethink your position.
Despite the Clinton administration's loud assurances that U.S. troops will not be used to suppress American patriotic movements or public dissent, the Defense Department is secretly arming for law enforcement operations on a national scale, The SPOTLIGHT has learned exclusively.
Defense contractors with top security clearances, summoned to a closed-door meeting at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia on May 10, were informed that the Joint Chiefs of Staff had been directed to upgrade "military capability and readiness" for executing "public safety" and "police support" assignments.
Briefing officers from the Advanced 'research Project Agency (ARPA), the Pentagon's top technology coordinator and official host of the Ft. Belvoir meeting, explained that since the troops will be facing American citizens, the priority requirement is for developing a new generation of so-called "Limited Effects Technologies" (LETs)which have a :lower potential of lethality"- that is, they are less deadly-than assault rifles, handguns or bayonets.
The Defense Department is offering between $3 and $4 million in seed money to foster research in new techniques that would enable the military to quell public disturbances "in a socially acceptable and environmentally benign way, while minimizing unintended damage," the contractors were told, according to a participant in the meeting, who asked for "real protection" of his identity.
STOP IT
New concepts are required for military "crowd control...the diversion and separation of crowds from protected sites...halting moving vehicles at roadblocks or checkpoints with minimal injury to the occupants or bystanders..." and especially for "rapid deployment support of police patrols that need protection," the ARPA briefing officers explained.
A "substantially larger budget"-some $400 million, according to one source-will be available to fund the "concept refinement, design, fabrication and demonstration of one or more technology brassboards with such specifications," the Pentagon spokesmen announced.
Put simply, the Joint Chiefs "have been given all the money they need to develop sophisticated electronic weapons against Americans who protest or resist bureaucratic intrusions in their lives," concluded a veteran federal security officer who is now a corporate consultant to a Washington defense firm.
other experienced observers voiced similar views. "Don't
kill them, just control then" is 'bill 'clinton's new tactic
for dealing with troublesome opponents,' warned a longtime defense
reporter. " the question is: Will the troops be willing to
stun-gun or zap-ray their fellow citizens? Even if such repression
will claim fewer lives than old-style bayonet charges, it will
inflict fatal damage on a vital national asset: the U.S. Constitution."

Are the members of the Establishment media simply stupid and incompetent, or are they part of the conspiracy?
On Monday, May 22, The SPOTLIGHT sent a news release to all of the major media in the United States informing them of one of the most important meetings of the year-the secret annual Bilderberg session. Not that they didn't know about it already.
This year, the Bilderberg Group will meet at Burgenstock, Switzerland
June 8--11. Among the attendees will be
representatives of the Establishment media. Said media will not
report on what was said in secret session. For the past 20 years,
on The SPOTLIGHT has brought you in-depth reports on what the
movers and shakers of international politics and finance have
in store for the "peasants."
This year, as in years past, one of America's most powerful media moguls-Katharine Graham of the Washington Post Company- will be in attendance. So will The SPOTLIGHT's Jim Tucker. Mrs. Graham is invited; Tucker isn't.
So,m along with the press release sent to the Washington Post, Tucker has asked Mrs. Graham to consent to an interview on the subject of the Bilderberg Group. Following is the text of Tucker's personal letter.
May 22, 1995
Katharine Graham
Chairman, Executive committee
The Washington Post Co.
Washington, D.C.
Dear Mrs. Graham:
I have attended Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg meetings with you for more than 10 years and yet I have never read about Bilderberg meetings in the Washington Post while stories about the Trilaterals are subject to their approval. (You were invited: I most definitely not.)
Having spent 20 years with daily newspapers-the Washington Daily News, Richmond Times-Dispatch and Akron Beacon Journal, among others-I cannot reconcile the Post's cover-up of the Bilderberg Group by any standards f journalism I ever learned at the slot- man's Knee.
Can the fact that you, and high officials of the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, the news magazines and others in journalism, attend the meetings on a vow of silence-pledge to reveal nothing- be defined as anything but a conspiracy? Is not such a promise journalistic prostitution, not unlike a reporter having the mayor approve of his city council story before submitting it to the city desk?
If you choose to believe that the Bilderberg Group and Trilateral Commission are benevolent organizations helping solve the world's problems-and we of the unwashed multitudes should be grateful-how would that change anything?
Certainly,if 120 of the world's top film stars or football players or citizens' militia leaders met secretly for three days behind locked and guarded doors, the Post and other newspapers would make energetic efforts to report what was happening. How, then, is there no curiosity at all when 120 of the world's most powerful financiers and political leaders meet secretly behind guarded doors? You know as well as I that the decisions they make affect all Americans and most of the world.
The taxpayers heavily subsidize these meetings, paying enormous travel costs of high officials of the White House and government departments who attend. (I have seen their travel vouchers and they don't fly coach or stay at the YMCA.)
For 20 years, I spent my life pawing through Associated Press, United Press International, the New York Times and Los Angeles times wires. Yet, I never knew the Bilderbergers existed until I joined Liberty Lobby and the SPOTLIGHT in May, 1975. I just did not believe such events could transpire with so complete a news blackout.
What else is this but a media conspiracy to silence the truth? It virtually makes one retch to confront your hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty, your callous and corrupt cover-up of one of the most important stories of our lifetimes.
I would like to interview you next week and discuss your part in this conspiracy and will call your secretary to arrange an appointment.
Cordially,
(Signed)
James P. Tucker, Jr.
SPOTLIGHT Correspondent

The tide has turned against a plan to scrap the Constitution through the back door.
The widespread, escalating opposition by grassroots Americans is now turning the tide against the proposed Conference of the States (COS). As of March 28, opponents, who believe the COS could turn into a federal constitutional convention, have convinced 14 states to defeat resolutions calling for participation in the event.
Of these, eight states have either voted down the COS or the legislative sessions have adjourned for the year without taking action. These states are California, Georgia, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and West Virginia.
Six other states have tabled, or set aside, their COS resolutions. These are Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, and Washington.
In Kansas, the sentiment of law-makers against a con-con is now so strong that the process has begun to rescind, or repeal, the state's 1978 call for a con-con, ostensibly on the issue of a balanced budget amendment.
On March 27, the text of the COS participation resolution, SCR 1606, was deleted and replaced with language repealing Kansas' con-con call. It now reads in part:
"Whereas, it appears that at such a convention various amendments to the U.S. Constitution might be proposed, and that some might be quite dangerous or destructive; and
"Whereas, the congress and the president are deemed to be capable of conducting our government properly, without the aid of a constitutional convention."
"The Conference of the States is absolutely the wrong way to approach regaining states rights," Rep. Darlene Cornfield, a leader of the anti-con-con effort, told The SPOTLIGHT. "This is just a backdoor approach to a constitutional convention. We have all the tools we need under the Constitution. We just need strong leadership."
COS organizers are now targeting Oregon, Louisiana and Indiana.
Since mid-February, COS organizers have added just one other
state to their tally-Nebraska, the only state which has a unicameral
legislature. Nebraska Gov. Ben Nelson is a major COS proponent.

One thing a sitting president can count on to boost his popularity is a "good war."
Beset by scandal and politically adrift, the Clinton administration is making back-room plans for a bang-up comeback. With a series of secret directives to the Joints Chiefs of Staff, the White House has started setting the stage for a second Gulf War, this time targeted against Iran, The SPOTLIGHT has learned from highly placed diplomatic and intelligence sources.
Iran, already under harsh economic sanctions and accused of fomenting "terrorism" while purportedly shopping for nuclear weapons, will be hit by "graduated military reprisal": that is, U.S. air and sea attacks leading to full scale war this summer, these sources confirmed.
In an address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the major Israeli lobby in Washington, visiting Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin called for war last month with a furious denunciation of Iran.
Rabin lashed out at the militant Muslim gulf nation as "the worst terrorists in the world...the one country that uses influence and terrorism to disrupt the Middle Eastern peace process."
Iran was trying to acquire nuclear weapons, Rabin claimed, and demanded "military elimination of this threat."
But Washington national security analysts privately dismissed Rabin's inflammatory speech as "demagoguery." They noted that Iran has tried to improve its relation with the U.S. in recent months, awarding a coveted petroleum contract to an American energy consortium and putting out feelers for other contacts. However, President Clinton forced the cancellation of this contract.
"What really worries Rabin is not Iranian terrorism, but just the opposite: He fears that the Islamic fundamentalists may get a friendlier hearing in Washington this year, explained Dr. Jonathan Barber, a political scientist specializing in Middle Eastern affairs.
There is, moreover, no hard evidence that Iran is in the market for weapons of mass destruction, military analysts say.
"The nuclear power generators Russia is selling to Iran are precisely the same type we are currently trying to press on the North Koreans," explained Col. Martin H. Bowington, a retired Pentagon intelligence analyst. "They are so-called water reactors, which generate no materials for military use."
But such U.S. doubts seemed to make Rabin more belligerent, diplomatic sources say. They point to a closed-door briefing Rabin gave the military affairs committee of the Knesset (the Israeli parliament) on his return from Washington last month.
In answer to sharp questions from warhawk Knesset members, the prime minister reportedly pledged that if the U.S. proved slow to attack Iran, the Israeli government would lead the way with air raids against the Islamic republic's military and scientific installations.
More ominously, The SPOTLIGHT has learned that on May 26 Secretary of State Warren Christopher exchanged notes with Alain Juppe, the new French prime minister, about the rapidly multiplying French business contracts with Iran.
Christopher reportedly protested this trade and warned Juppe the Clinton administration has now decided to "employ military means" against Iran if trade sanctions proved ineffective.
"That's a very bad sign that Clinton has buckled under the combined weight of Israeli pressure and his desperate need for a winning move in domestic politics" concluded Barber. "But another gulf war will not produce the kind of quick boost Bush got from Desert Storm.
"It will bring down Clinton the way that failed 1980 commando
raid on Iran wrecked the Carter Presidency," he said.

The Establishment media doesn't report on the world shadow government.
Katharine Graham, chairman of the Washington Post and one of the few female (along with Queen Beatrix of Holland) long-term Bilderberg participants, is keeping the world shadow government's vows of silence.
She has refused to be interviewed by The SPOTLIGHT. A call to her office was answered by a young boy with a winsome voice who explained that "Mrs. Graham is on the phone right now."
He was told that Jim Tucker, SPOTLIGHT correspondent, wanted to interview Mrs. Graham about the Bilderberg meeting June 8-11 in Burgenstock, Switzerland, which she would be attending. Tucker had sent her a letter on the subject days earlier (SPOTLIGHT, June 5).
"Bilderberg?" came the response.
"Yes, it is called Bilderberg," he was told. "Bilderberg is a group if international financiers and political leaders-some of the most powerful men on Earth-and they meet secretly each year. Since Mrs. Graham participates in Bilderberg, I would like to interview her on the subject."
The boy file clerk-Mrs. Graham's secretary is an older woman with a grandmotherly telephone demeanor-was probably not bluffing when he pled ignorance of Bilderberg. Knowledge of this secret group is on a "need to know" basis and he has no role in Mrs. Graham's travel arrangements.
After some discussion of Mrs. Graham's "crowded schedule," Tucker suggested that, if an eyeball-to-eyeball interview in Mrs. Graham's office was impossible, perhaps a few questions could be put to her over the telephone at a time of her convenience.
The clerk took Tucker's office number down. The call never came. If Tucker's office is empty, ITT's answering service kicks in on the forth ring. Answering machines sometimes fail but never ITT's answering service.
Mrs Graham dies not want to talk about Bilderberg or the new
wars she and her mattoid friends will discuss at the international
Bilderberg confab taking place on Burgenstock Mountain in Switzerland

If you think the Republican Congress will stop President Bill Clinton's drive to involve us in a Mideast war, reconsider.
Even as questions were being raised about his wife's lucrative job promoting Israeli financial interests. House Speaker Newt Gingrich recently delivered a provocative speech in Washington calling for the subversion and destruction of the government of Iran, the Islamic colossus which is Israel's most implacable fee. Gingrich made his pronouncement before a gathering of military and intelligence officers.
This scheme was first enunciated on May 22, 1993 in a then- secret speech by a former Israeli government propagandist. Later, it was propounded in the March/April 1994 issue of Foreign Affairs, the journal of the Council on Foreign Relations of which Gingrich is according to his staff, "a proud member." (See comments by Secretary of Defense William Perry on this Page.-Ed.)
Gingrich called for the United States to pursue a Middle East policy "designed to force the replacement of the current regime in Iran," which, he declared, "is the only long-range solution that makes any sense."
This, said Gingrich, "breaks up the capacity of the totalitarian forces whether they're in the West Bank killing Israelis or they're in New York City killing Americans."
The fact the speaker of the House has endorsed this policy is noteworthy indeed, inasmuch as Gingrich is touting what has been essentially a secret Clinton administration policy.
As The SPOTLIGHT reported on March 28, 1994 President Clinton's national security advisor. Anthony Lake, had enunciated such a plan for the "dual containment: of both Iraq and Iran which Lake, writing in Foreign Affairs, labeled "outlaw" and "backlash" states.
However, as The SPOTLIGHT revealed, the plan described by Lake (and now being promoted by Gingrich actually originated with a former Israeli government propagandist, Martin Indyk, who was appointed by {resident Clinton to serve as the Middle East policy "expert" on the National Security Council (NSC) which is ostensibly headed by Lake.
Indyk, Australian by birth and a long-time Israeli loyalist who subsequently took up residence and employment in 'Israel as a government propagandist, was given "instant" U.S. citizenship on January 2 0, 1993 just hours after Clinton was sworn into office.
Now, amazingly enough, the former Israeli official has been appointed to serve as U. S.Ambassador to Israel, the gigantic and obvious conflict of interests not withstanding.
Not even the Senate's "America first" firebrand, Jesse Helms (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, raised concerns about Indyk's appointment, but instead, ushered his nomination through the Senate
(According to Avonoam Bar-Yosef, writing in the September 2, 1994 issue of Ma'Ariv, the prominent Israeli daily,, "In the National Security Council, seven out of 11 top staffers are Jews. Clinton has especially placed them in the most sensitive junctions in the U.S. Security and foreign administrations."
(The article, explosively entitled "The Jews who run Clinton's court," quoted the rabbi of the Adath Yisrael synagogue in Washington, D.C. as saying that "for the first time in American history...the U.S.. has no longer a government of Goyim [Gentiles], but an administration in which the Jews are full partners in the decision making at all levels.")
The NSC's Israeli loyalist Indyk first revealed the plan to target Iraq and Iran for destruction in a speech given before the Washington Institute on Near East Affairs, a private pro-Israel foreign policy pressure group."
At the time of the speech, delivered May 22, 1993 to the Washington Institute of Near East Policy of which Indyk was a former director, The SPOTLIGHT (in its June 7, 1993 issue) was the only publication to reveal the Democratic administration's plan for Middle 'east aggression.
Now, however, the Republican House speaker has endorsed the scheme, signaling a united front against Iran, harkening back to the Establishment demand for "bipartisan" foreign policy, particularly when the policy is aimed at nationalist regimes upon which Israel looks askance.
At the very time Gingrich was making his war-like pronouncement, it, was being reported in the media that Marianne Gingrich, the House speaker's wife, is collecting $2,500 a month as vice president for business development for the Israel Export Development Company (IEDC).
IEDC lures American companies out of the United States and into a high-tech business Park in Israel.
Mrs. Gingrich claims, however, that since her job involves no lobbying of the United States government, t poses no conflict of interest with her husband's duties as House speaker.
Her husband, a long-time devotee of Israeli concerns, long promoted the concept of an Israeli enterprise somewhere companies can operate free of most taxes.
It turns out Mrs Gingrich was introduced to her employer, David Yerushalmi, president of IEDC, when she was on a tour in Israel sponsored by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the only officially registered lobby for Israel.
(Arne Christenson, a former AIPAC official, new serves as a top policy advisor to House Speaker Gingrich, solidifying the ties between Gingrich and the Israeli lobby.)
The implications of this foreign policy pronouncement by the
House speaker together with the defense secretary's comments to
the CFR, are staggering and point, further toward the suggestion
by The SPOTLIGHT in its June 7, 1993 issue that the powers-that-
be are "intent on plunging America into war with Iran and
Iraq."

Even as the deteriorating situation in the Balkans grabs the headlines, and U.S. troops move into harm's way, plans are in the works to go to war in the Middle East. You read that correctly: We will be going to war in the Mideast.
How do we know? Because that's what Israel wants us to do. And, that's what Secretary of Defense William Perry told the Council on Foreign Relations on May 18 in New York. Whether we will attack Iran first or Iraq, both countries must be "stabilized"-i.e., neutralized as national entities with independent foreign policies.
Here's Perry on Iran: "Iran's attempts to acquire nuclear technology, its support of TERRORISM AGAINST ISRAEL (Fighting words if we ever heard them.-Ed.) and other states, its opposition to the Middle East peace process and its threatening position in the gulf make for an inherently destabilizing force in the region."
Here's Perry on Iraq: "Iraq's record of aggression is
well known to the world...Just last October 6, Gen. John B.
Shalikashvili (chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) came into
my office with a set of pictures that absolutely commanded my
attention. It showed elements of two Republican Guard divisions
moving from the barracks to the Kuwaiti border-a pattern of deployment
strikingly similar to that of 1990."
In his speech, Perry continually referred to Iran and Iraq as dangers to the peace and tranquillity of the area. But not once did he mention the nuclear capability of America's "favorite ally"-Israel.
We're not ignoring the seriousness of the Bosnia situation. Clinton has all but committed 25,000 U.S. GIs to ground duty. Like Somalia, their duties will include helping evacuate United Nations troops. And, whether the U.S. forces are under the command of NATO or the UN, they are still U.S. citizens. And consider this, if an undisciplined rabble in Somalia can KILL A FEW AMERICANS and drag their bodies through the streets while the U.S. government sits safely at home in Washington and wrings its collective hands, what's going to happen when the GIs go up against tough, disciplined, battle-hardened Serbian forces?
But while Americans are distracted by the Balkan situation, with the help of the Establishment media, Clinton is making plans to "neutralize" Iran and Iraq and bring them under Israeli imperial control, , just like Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Kuwait and even Syria and Saudi Arabia.
Remember, presidents love war. Whipping up patriotism never hurt a sitting politician. George Bush's only mistake with DESERT STORM was that he peaked too quickly. If the election had been held a month after the victory parade through Washington, D.C., Bush would still be in the white House.
To the deluded American public nothing could be more popular than a Mideast war to help Israel. After all, Israel has the best public relations here in the U.'s. your tax dollars can buy.
So, we may send American GIs to fight and die in Bosnia, but when it comes to war, look to the Mideast. Remember, Israel's interests must be protected, regardless of what it costs. If you doubt that, ask Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich or Bob Dole.
It's time to resurrect that old-by now cliched-chant from the
1970s: HELL NO, WE WONT GO.

An Arkansas newspaper has discovered Bill Clinton takes his cues from the would-be masters of the Global Plantation.
A bastion of Establishment journalism has discovered the world shadow government and its influence on international events. But it can't quite bring itself to print the word "Bilderberg."
According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, published in Little Rock, it was at a meeting of "world leaders" in 1991 in Baden-Baden, Germany, that President Bill Clinton, then Arkansas governor, net with David Rockefeller, the granddaddy of the New World Order, and laid the groundwork for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
The newspaper reported "the June 1991 conference of world leaders in Baden-Baden, Germany...,a meeting that allowed the two a chance to get better acquainted," led to Clinton's efforts to work for approval by Congress of the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT).
However, the Gazette not once in the lengthy May 21 article about the Clinton-Rockefeller alliance identified the world leaders by name as the Bilderbergers.
CRASHES PARTY
The SPOTLIGHT's own Jim Tucker, who annually is the only member of the national media to show any interest in the importance of the Bilderbergers in managing life on the planet and somehow always manages to crash their meetings, covered the Baden-Baden conference, just as he has this year's meeting of the globalists in Switzerland.
In reporting on the 1991 meeting, Tucker wrote: "Also on the global economic front, Bilderberg pressure on the Uruguay Round of talks on the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) is being felt. Even as the Bilderberg group was meeting with 120 of the world's leading financiers and leaders, GATT negotiators announced a 'new spirit of cooperation' and determination to reach an agreement."
In the Gazette article, Rockefeller "praised the Clinton administration for its work to pass NAFTA as well as the General Agreement of Tariffs and Trade, known as GATT. He believes the president is committed to promoting free trade..."
Obviously, in the plush private rooms of the luxurious Badischer Hof in Baden-Baden, the world leaders did a lot of "promoting." A year later, the previously little-known governor from Arkansas had been groomed to win the Democratic presidential nomination and went on to get elected in November as president of the United States.
The Gazette noted Clinton and Rockefeller had met in the mid- 1980s at Winrock, a farm built on Arkansas' Petit Jean Mountain by the supposedly retired Chase Manhattan chief's late brother, Einthrop, a one-time Arkansas governor.
It noted, however, that it was at a golf game at Baden-Baden that the two internationalists really forged an alliance "that is now having implications halfway around the globe."
MAJOR ADVISER
"Now Rockefeller has become a leading voice in advising the Clinton administration on trade relations with Central and South America." Arkansas' top daily newspaper reported.
"It seems to me Clinton's successes in the hemisphere have been so significant that he should build on them rather than do other things." Rockefeller said heaping praise on one of the most detested presidents of this century. "I think you can do that without neglecting domestic issues."
In the article, Rockefeller indicated "the timing is right: to build on NAFTA, to extend it throughout Central and South America by the year 2005.
"I think it's highly desirable because it's just a further extension of the concept of NAFTA," Rockefeller said.
"If this were accomplished, it would be the largest trading bloc in the world and would benefit the United States enormously in terms of our exports," Rockefeller concluded.
He said nothing, of course, about the tens of billions that American taxpayers have been saddled with by Clinton in an effort to bail out Mexico from the quagmire created by NAFTA and Mexico's corrupt leadership.
Instead, the czar of globalism said "great headway has
been made" due to the NAFTA and GATT agreements, the Gazette
dutifully reported.

In the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing, a phalanx of appalling"anti-terrorism" legislation has hit the fast track in the U.S. Congress. You'll find a list of these legislative travesties at the end of this column.
Why the alarm? Because each of these bad "anti-terrorism" bills now before Congress contains substantially identical provisions for legalizing and expanding the use of high-tech digital surveillance systems being built into our nation's telephone networks.
So, with no apologies for my partisanship, I hope you'll join with the millions of other Americans-average citizens and computer and telecommunications professionals alike-in stopping President Bill Clinton's electronic police state in its tracks.
Please take steps to contact your elected representatives quickly and forcefully about the legislation listed below. You may not get another chance to do so without President Bill Clinton's new political police monitoring your call or fax.
Regular readers of The SPOTLIGHT appreciate the clear and present danger of this impending surveillance legislation and the sinister computerized equipment it will legalize and force you to pay for.
You've read about the "Technical Requirements" and field test of these surveillance devices many times in this column.
The equipment is designed to keep track of everyone you call and everyone who calls you. It gathers this telephone data to build a "profile"-a computer database that shows instantly everyone you know, and everyone who knows you.
The equipment is designed to be activated remotely and the design requirements specified sophisticated encryption technology to conceal its actual operations from phone company employees.
Whether you're on the phone, faxing, modeming or chatting near the telephone, this sophisticated system gives Americans would-be political police all the "tools" they need to catch you in "criminal conversations" (these are FBI Director Louis Freeh's characterizations from recent Congressional testimony-not mine.
It's silent, untraceable, unaccountable surveillance; suspension of Habeas 'corpus and Posse Comitatus; admitting illegally obtained surveillance evidence into court proceedings.
The scenario includes secret courts issuing secret rulings to deal with foreign-born or homegrown "terrorists"-or both-without notifying either the suspects or their lawyers. It includes confiscating the property of 'americans in "civil actions" to pay for the whole sinister apparatus.
It is unbelievable, but ''congress is considering all of these things now.
Some of the pending "anti-terrorism" bills were introduced before the April 19 tragedy in Oklahoma City. Others, essentially identical when it comes to the dreadful electronic surveillance provisions, followed quickly afterward. These bill were introduced by insiders of both major political parties. They speak volumes about their sponsors.
Some seek to pay for the new telephone surveillance network with nearly $500 million taxpayer dollars.
But Attorney General Janet Reno and FBI Director Louis Freeh have already announced they intend to fund the apparatus with a 40 percent increase in civil fines and asset forfeitures from American citizens.
So if your elected representatives won't agree to pay for it, Ms. Reno plans to simply seize the money from "violators" like you and me. I am not making this up. Take a look at Big Brother Bill Clinton's "New Covenant" for the Global Plantation. And it's the same on both sides of the Congressional aisle.
WIRETAP FUNDING
The House Appropriations Committee's Commerce, Justice, State
and Judiciary subcommittee is considering funding the new domestic
surveillance network with $500 million taxpayer dollars.
The representatives deciding how much you should pay to help the
feds wiretap your phone are Reps. Harold Rogers, chairman (R-
Ky.), Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz.), Charles Taylor (R-N.C.), Ralph Regula
(R-Ohio) and Michael Forbes (R-N.Y.), Alan Mollahan (D-W.Va.),
David Skaggs (D-Co.), Julain Dixon D-Calif.), and David Obey (D-
Wisc.).
The FBI Counter-intelligence Act of 1995 amends the Fair Credit Reporting Act to force credit bureaus t provide the credit, banking and property records of citizens to the FBI.
Proudly sponsored by Reps. Douglas Bereuter (R-NB.) and Larry Combest (R-Texas), it is presently in the House Committee on Banking and Finance, which needs to pass it on to the full House before federal authorities can legally obtain this information on demand to identify personal assets for seizure. It is significant that Combest is also chairman of the House Select Intelligence Committee. S. 390, H.R. 896
The original Omnibus Counter-Terrorism Act of 1995, sponsored by Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del) and Rep. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) respectively, focuses on foreign terrorists but authorizes ghastly surveillance powers and secret courts.
These bills are now mainly "lightning rods" to distract citizens from revised (and more mischievous) proposals, S. 725 and S. 761. Still, these two belong in the same hopper as the new, Post-Oklahoma bills.
The Republican revision of the "Comprehensive Terrorism Prevention Act of 1995," proudly sponsored by Sens. Bob Dole (R- Kans.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), who think this bill is a swell alternative to Democrat legislation.
I find that peculiar, because it provides substantially the same surveillance powers as the Democrat legislation. It also restricts fund-raising for political organizations, modifies Habeas Corpus laws, provides federal access to credit reports, banking records, and ravel and hotel records and more.
It's bad news for privacy and citizens concerned about government abuse or blackmail.
The Democrat revision of the "Comprehensive Terrorism Prevention Act of 1995" was eagerly offered by Sens. Tom Daschle (D-Wisc.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Chris Dodd (D-Conn.).
It makes nice noises about constitutional rights and then calls automated wiretaps and computerized citizen profiling necessary "tools" for national security.
Freeh calls them "tools," too-perhaps he's using them already? Let's give these people the gate, and their warn and fuzzy KGB bill, too.
ANTI-TERRORISM ACT UPDATE
This is draft legislation being pushed by the White House. It is so nasty that no one will sponsor it.
The administration's package of amendments vastly extends FBI surveillance capabilities and makes evidence gained without bothersome warrants admissible in court.
It also authorizes Reno to pay for the national wiretapping
system without bothersome Congressional funding. Instead, she
can finance these patriotic undertakings with a 40 percent increase
in all federal monetary penalties and civil asset seizures. Heard
enough?

The Swiss media has proven it has more guts than the Establishment media in the U.S.
On May 22, The SPOTLIGHT sent a press release to the major media outlets in the United States announcing this year's secret meeting of the Bilderberg group. We said we had details we were willing to share. We got no response.
We also sent the release to major European media, particularly newspapers in Switzerland where the Bilderbergs are meeting. The Swiss responded, reporting the facts for their readers and in at least one instance, crediting The SPOTLIGHT for the tip that lead to their investigation.
Following are translated excerpts from the Swiss press. From the Friday May 26 edition of Tagesschau, a Swiss newspaper:
The headlines read: "Secret Conference on Burgenstock
Mountain," "Burgenstock Will Be the Mecca of the Elite
in
Politics and Finance in June."
And, " The Swiss Military to Protect International Statesmen and leading Economists" a fact published in The SPOTLIGHT a month ago.
Following is the translation of the story:
Prominent leaders from the world of politics and economics will be meeting at Nidwalden, on Mt. Burgenstock, Switzerland for the very secretive Bilderberg conference, About 100 participants are expected from June 8th-11th; among the participants are leading bankers, politicians and industrialists from Europe and North America.
Isolated from world news media, the attendees will be discussing current topics of world politics. The substance of the discussion remains secretive, only topics and participants are being announced.
The first conference was held in 1954 at the Bilderberg Hotel near Oosterbeck in Holland. This is the third time the luxury Resort Palace Hotel on Burgenstock is being used for the meetings.
The luminaries from the 1981 meeting include Kurt Furglier, Walter Scheel, Henry Kissinger, Helmut Kohl, Fiat Chairman Giovanni Agnelli, shipping magnate Stavos Niarchos, David Rockefeller and Prince Claus of the Netherlands. This year's conference organizer is David de Pury, the CEO of the powerful conglomerate Asea Braun Bovere (ABB) of Switzerland.
According to the Luzerner Zeitung of May 26:
Local police have asked the Swiss Army to guard the hotel and protect the participants of the meeting. For the most important participants, a special helicopter is being used to bring them to the hotel. Only participants of the meeting will have access to the hotel. Anyone accompanying the participants (including their bodyguards) will have to stay at the Park or Grand Hotel nearby.
Extra telephone lines will be installed to provide instant communications with governments and corporate headquarters anywhere in the world. At the last meeting, Swissair even went so far as to install special ticket counters for participants of the meeting.
According the Friday, May 26 edition of the Luzerner Zeitung, The SPOTLIGHT was the source of the time and place of the meeting which were later confirmed by the Swiss government.
"The time when it takes place was revealed in The Spotlight,
an American weekly and confirmed by the Swiss government,"the
newspaper reported.

Bilderbergers are meeting to discuss how the world should operate.
BURGENSTOCK, Switzerland-The Bilderberg group is gathering here in a beautiful mountain setting ut with ugly hearts. They are high on a hilltop but down in the dumps.
David Rockefeller is limping in, having fractured a leg on the sidewalks of Tokyo after voters broke his heart last November with a rousing demand for an America First approach to both domestic and foreign affairs.
At age 80 and staring eternity in the face, Rockefeller yearns to see his dream of a world government launched and already the deadline of the year 2000 has been shoved back to 2002.
Like its junior varsity, the Trilateral Commission, which met in April in Copenhagen, Denmark, Bilderberg members are depressed by the current mood of America, which is "nationalistic"-a profane word in their circles. Add coverage by the Swiss media and you get a somber mood.
Many of the 73 freshmen Republicans elected in November, when they took control of both houses of Congress for the first time in 40 years, were young businessmen-not lawyers or bankers, Bilderberg operatives note sadly.
The eagerness to balance the budget, reduce spending and the size of government and abolish foreign aid scares the Bilderberg boys. Many campaigned against pork in their own districts-asking voters to reject federal money for courthouses, post offices and bridges-and were elected by wide margins.
They are deathly afraid that Pat Buchanan's run for the Republican nomination will pull the candidates toward more "nationalistic" (patriotic} and "isolationist" (noninterventionist) positions. They are even afraid that Buchanan might be nominated and elected president. Could it happen?
The Bilderberg pain can best be understood by recalling recent history. They are unaccustomed to having to worry about who is president. They are accustomed to owning the president-whoever he is and whatever party is in control of the White House.
A look back: Bill Clinton, Trilateral and Bilderberg; George Bush, Trilateral; Ronald Reagan, received the Trilaterals at the White House and had his vice president (Bush) address their meeting; Jimmy Carter and his vice president, Walter Mondale, both Trilaterals; Harry Ford and his vice president, Nelson 'Rockefeller, both Bilderberg and Richard Nixon, banished from the 'white House for bucking Bilderberg.
So while the Bilderberg-Trilateral arms of the world government are used to owning both houses in a two-horse race, the presidential election of 1996 has them nervous.
If Clinton is nominated -and they are working feverishly to make sure he is unchallenged within his own party (such likely prospects as Sen. Bill Bradley [D-N.J.] belong to Bilderberg) they will own one candidate.
But will they own the Republican? The leading contenders, Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and Sen. Phil Gramm (R-Texas) have never been known to participate in Trilateral or Bilderberg meetings. Bilderberg is reaching out to them and they may be reachable.
But Buchanan told 'the SPOTLIGHT in his 1992 campaign for president-in which he nearly upset Bush in New Hampshire-that he would never appoint any of them in his administration.
Buchanan is "unreachable." Bilderberg knows it, and
will try to undermine his campaign in indirect, unobservable ways.
The SPOTLIGHT will observe this, directly.

An Army base in Pennsylvania is being used by the FBI for heavy
assault training.
A Pennsylvania National Guard base is being used by the FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and possibly other federal agencies as a training base for multi-jurisdictional task force operations of a tactical nature, including the use of armed helicopters.
Fort Indiantown Gap, located about 20 miles east of the Pennsylvania capital of Harrisburg, is being used by tactical FBI, DEA and possibly other federal agencies for "heavy" assault-type training, since April 24, The SPOTLIGHT has learned from a well- placed Army source.
FBI and DEA "assets" used in the training have included
FBI Hughes OH 5 helicopters, armed with two mini-guns (multiple-
barreled machine guns), mounted one on each side, and DEA UH-1
Huey helicopters, at least one spotted that was armed with two
M-60 machine buns, both mounted in the doorway of the cargo-
passenger compartment.
LIVE-FIRE TRAINING
According to The SPOTLIGHT source, at least two helicopters, one each belonging to the FBI and DEA, were involved in live-fire exercises on the firing ranges of the Pennsylvania base.
Those activities, according to the source, were coordinated with activities of agents on the ground, who were garbed in both black and camouflaged combat uniforms. The agents on the ground were conducting live fire exercises on the base's firing ranges.
On April 27 an estimated 100 federal agents were reported deployed on the grounds and parking lot area just south of the base's Military Police Headquarters, with many still arriving and being directed to parking areas by an FBI agent posted on the road.
Vehicles appearing in the area bore mostly Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey license tags.
An Itasca Suncruiser motor home, other than being equipped with some small police-type radio antennas.
In its tactical configuration, the motor home appeared to become an FBI command center, suddenly "sprouting" a thick, 20-25-foot mast, at the top of which was mounted a video camera in a large, articulated, weatherproof box. Mounted slightly below the camera was a small v-shaped, grid-type antennae.
When spotted in this configuration, one of the federal
agents was seen erecting a similar antennae on a tripod on the
ground beside the motor home.
GUARD HEADQUARTERS
Fort Indiantown Gap houses the headquarters of the
Pennsylvania Army and Air National Guards and some active duty
U.S. Army personnel, including an explosive ordinance disposal
detachment and a military police garrison.
While used as a training site for National Guard and Reserve components from Pennsylvania and surrounding states, the base is perhaps best known for its periodic use as a concentration camp/processing center for refugees, most recently those who arrived during the so-called Cuban Boatlift. Prior to that it was utilized as a holding and processing center for Vietnamese who fled their country at the end of the Vietnam War.
The base also houses "state of the art" simulators for both Huey and Cobra helicopters and, in addition to the training of U.S. military personnel, the simulators are used for training pilots from a variety of foreign countries.
In recent weeks, a number of high-ranking German and Lithuanians as part of the so-called "Bridge to America" program, which links the National Guard of states to the military of various countries form the former Soviet empire.
Meanwhile, the United States is hosting about 1,500 German Army and Luftwaffe (Air Force) personnel, who brought with them extensive military hardware, including vehicles, which arrived via Beaumont, Texas.
This is the largest group of German military forces to ever arrive for training in the United States, this time under the umbrella of a massive training mission named "Operation Roving Sands."
German airmen are regularly stationed, although in much smaller numbers, at various U.S. bases, including Luke Air Force Base in Arizona and Fort Bliss in Texas.
When questioned by Phil O'Haloran, editor and publisher of Relevance magazine, about the large number of German troops entering the United States, an Air Force spokesman said the effort was approved at the "very highest level of the U.N.
When pressed on this point, the spokesman quickly indicated
that he had erred, stating that he had meant the State Department.

The fascinating and little-know story about both government- owned and privately-owned underground facilities (and plans for extensive tunnel networks) was discussed on the January 12 broadcast of The SPOTLIGHT's nightly call-in talk forum, Radio Free America with host Tom Valentine. The guest was Dr. Richard Sauder, author of Underground Bases and Tunnels which is available form Liberty Library, 300 Independence Avenue, SE, Washington, D.C. 20003 at $15.95 per copy.
Those who have information on the subject of underground installations and tunnels they might wish to pass on to Sauder may write: Dr. Richard Sauder, PO Box 81543, Albuquerque, N.M. 87198.
What follows is an edited transcript of Valentine's interview with Sauder. Valentine's questions are indicated with a "Q" and Sauder's responses are indicated with an "A".
Q. Your contention is hat there really are underground bases and tunnels in America (other than the Underground facility at Iron Mountain in New York state, one of several that have been mentioned in the Establishment media over the years).
A. Indeed there are a good deal of underground installations sprinkled all over the country. Most of them have been built and owned and operated by the United States government and its agencies and departments. Not all of them are, but most of them are.
Lloyd Duscha, the deputy director of engineering and
construction for the Army Corps of Engineers said in a public
speech that the government has built underground installations
that ar secret, classified and very large and that they are of
a "critical and unusual nature" and that a large number
of consultants were involved during design and construction. there
you have it, right from the horse's mouth. The underground facilities
do indeed exist.
Duscha's speech was reported on pages 109-113 in a book entitled Tunneling and Underground Transport: Future Developments in Technology, Economics and Policy, publishing by the Elsivere Science Publishing Company. This is a publicly-available document. This isn't classified.
As far as tunnels are concerned. I had heard these stories about underground tunnel networks that allegedly criss-cross the country, particularly the Western states and which are supposed to be very extensive and elaborate. I have say I haven't been in them and I have never spoken with anybody who has looked me in the eye and has said that they have been. I have talked to people who say they are real. I have talked to people who say they have some personal knowledge of them.
I have found in federal documents plans by the Pentagon to make a hundreds-of-miles long tunnel network here in the West. These are for the purpose of putting nuclear missile parts very deeply under the ground. These have tunnels connecting the nuclear missile parts, which would be manned by the way, and the tunnel network, in the plans I saw, would range at least 2,500 feet underground and perhaps even deeper. But those are plans.
Q. But those, as you say, are only plans. Were they blueprint- type documents of proposed tunnels?
A. Well, what I found were a set of documents issued by the Air Force weapons lab, which was a couple of hundred pages. Then there was another set of documents that came from the United States National Committee on Tunneling Technology. This is a quasi- government agency in Washington, D.C. that brings together experts and consultants from research universities including the mining schools, and from private business and government agencies at both the federal and state levels.
Q. Now you've mentioned that most underground installations-as opposed to the proposed tunnels we've been talking about-are government owned. But, as you suggest, there are some that are privately owned.
A. That's right. AT&T, for example, has a good number of
underground installations spread around the country. Even the
Wall Street Journal in an article back in the early 1980s
referred to three of them: One in New Jersey, one in Georgia and
one in Kansas. But there are others.
Q. What ever captured your imagination to start looking into this unusual area?
A. Until several years ago when I moved out here to the Southwest
(having been born in Virginia and raised throughout the south)
I had been pretty much sleepwalking through life like much of
the American public, not paying very much attention to
anything, including what the government was doing right under
my nose.
However, when I came out here, I started hearing many people talking about "underground bases and tunnels." I didn't know anything about this and it caught my interest. It simmered for a few years and then about two years ago I did a little research thinking that I would lay the matter to rest.
Far from doing that, however, I came up with a lot more information than I anticipated when I began to sift through federal documents. Anybody who has ever worked with federal documents knows there are many, many thousands of pages of them from all kinds of agencies and departments on every kind of conceivable subject, some of them quite obscure.
However, I came up with quite a bit of literature pertaining to the government's plans for building underground installations, going all the way back to the 1950s.
The Atomic Energy Commission and the U.S. Energy Research and
Development Administration even took out patents for inventions
made at Los Alamos National Labs here in New Mexico for nuclear-
powered tunneling machines that would actually melt their way
trough subterranean rocks. These are called "nuclear
subterines."
The patents exist. The inventions are real. Whether or not the government has secretly made these machines and is using them. I don't know. But I do know that the United States government holds the patents for them and I do know that for decades the government has been constructing underground installations. The Pentagon is not the only agency involved.
The Federal Reserve has at least one underground installation that I can prove. I can tell you that the Fed has stored very large sums of currency on the order of billions of dollars.
It has also electronically monitored the Nation's financial activity primarily in the realm of high finance through something they call the "Fedwire" which they do through their computer banks underground.
I guess they want to have their finger on the electronic pulse of the financial community in real time. Who knows what they do?
Q. You report that there are plans to build installations going down the staggering depth of 8,000 feet-well over a mile underground.
A. I have a document that came out in a journal called Tunneling and Underground Space Technology (Vol. III, No. 1, 1988). This journal is a professional journal for people in the mining and underground construction industries.
The article is entitled "Advances in technology for the
construction of deep underground facilities." It is authored
jointly by the U.S. National Committee on Tunneling Technology
and the U.S. National Committee for Rock Mechanics. They speak
very forcefully and at great length about making very deep
underground installations.
In the first paragraph of their conclusion they say that: "The consensus of the working groups involved in preparing this report is that the basic technical capabilities to create complex underground facilities at the pace and depth envisioned are available in current practice."
In this article they were talking about having an extensive underground network of installations and tunnels by the year 1993.
Q. You point out that NASA has had plans to fly tunneling equipment to the moon.
A. That's correct. I came out of the Los Alamos National Labs back in 1986 . The authors of this report were also involved with designing the nuclear powered tunneling machines at the lab in the 1970s.
They speak forthrightly about flying nuclear-powered tunneling machines to the moon. 'they don't say how, by the way, but they do say that the price would range anywhere from $155 million to $2.3 billion.
How they arrived at that figure I don't know. That figure is relative peanuts in light of the size of the Pentagon's so-called black budget and what I suspect (but cannot prove) NASA is doing.
According to this report, issued through a symposium in Atlantic City in September 1986, these nuclear powered tunneling machines would go to work and make a network of tunnels under the lunar surface.
The report stated these tunnels would range anywhere from hundreds to thousands of kilometers in extent and would connect underground living areas for human occupants who would come up and inhabit this labyrinth of tunnels and bases for research.
There were other documents that came out of Texas A&M's aerospace engineering department in 1988 (under contract to NASA) which elaborated on these plans and speak very forthrightly and even show the design for such nuclear-powered tunneling machines.
The tunneling machines would actually make the tunnels glass- walled as they go through the ground, melting the rock and soil as they go forward, which solidifies behind the machine.
There was a document that came out of the Defense Nuclear Agency in the 1970s. On its title page this document speaks very clearly of surveying the continental United States for geological formations of interest to the military for putting installations under the ground as deeply as 5,000 feet.
The document listed sites all over the country that they focused on. Most were in the West, but there were others in other parts of the country.
Interestingly, one of the sites that they specifically mentioned by name was Taos, New Mexico, an area where, for the last couple of year, people have heard a strange "hum."
I don't know if some agency has put an underground facility there or is now building one. I can only tell you that at one time almost 20 years ago they were considering the subterranean depths below Taos as a possible location.
I did get a story from somebody second-hand that when the Department of Energy is tunneling in Nevada at Yucca Mountain and at the Nevada test site that you can hear them grinding away.
A tunnel-boring machine that is conventionally-powered (as
opposed to the nuclear-powered types which I've mentioned)grinds
away at the rock with super-hard alloy cutting attachments.
Q. Where would they dump all of the materials that they are taking
out of the earth if they have been building these
tunnels?
A. Well, if the government is using the nuclear powered machines that they have taken out patents for, there would be little muck to dump and perhaps none. There wouldn't necessarily be any smoke created either. However, if they are using conventional tunnelers, there are a couple of options.
If, for example, they were doing tunneling on the White Sands nuclear missile range which is about 100 miles from north to south and about 40-50 miles wide from east to west, there is restricted air space here. You would have your pick of canyons, gulches and valleys to dump the spoil in. Unless someone had a security clearance to get on the base, you wouldn't be any wiser.
Here in the West the military controls some very substantial areas of land. I'm not sure people from the rest of the country who haven't traveled here appreciate the wide-open expanse of the land that the military controls here.
There were some documents issued by the Army Corps of Engineers in the 1970s about constructing some very large, deeply-buried underground facilities.
In a couple of those documents they made the point that for
a cavity 400-600 feet in diameter buried up to 4,000 feet
underground, the muck excavated out of the cavity could be disposed
of in an area as little as 80 acres and could be
camouflaged.
So we need not have huge tracts of land necessary to get rid of this. I would expect the activity would be camouflaged in some way so that the casual observer might not suspect what they would be looking at.
At this juncture, I would reiterate that I don't know if the military or any other agency has made this extensive underground tunnel system anywhere.
I have seen plans for it. The technology certainly exists.
And the money is there in the black budget, as well as the
infrastructure for the secrecy. It could be done. Whether it has
been done, I do not know.
Q. We know electricity can be generated from nuclear power. How would a nuclear-powered tunneler work under the plans that you've seen?
A. The plans for the nuclear-powered tunneler that I have seen describe a compact fission reactor-a so-called SP 100 reactor which would be shielded, by the way.
The actual melting of the rock into a magma, a vitreous state that would leave behind a glassy lining, according to the plans, would be accomplished by circulating liquid metals through heat- conduction pipes that would go through r near the reactor core. These would be used to generate electricity, which would heat a heating element that would then have contact with the rock and liquefy it into a molten glassy state.
You wouldn't be making the rock or the tunnel itself radioactive. The radio-activity would be contained within the reactor core. A crew accompanying the nuclear tunneling equipment would thus not be contaminated.
There are two different designs for these nuclear-powered tunnelers, according to the documents that I've seen.
One is a conventional nuclear-powered hybrid where you would melt the boundary of the tunnel. That would give you the glass- lined tunnel lining as the tunneler bored ahead.
Then mechanical grinders or cutters would rip away at the tunnel face which would be detached. That would be disposed of by conveyers and dump trucks in a more conventional manner.
The other type would be a purely melting type of tunnel bore.
Because of the pressure of he tunneler as it moved through the melting rock, it would force the magma out into a network of cracks within the rocks and the soil by hydraulic pressure of he tunneler moving forward.
When it cooled there would be nothing left to dispose of, and it would make a solid outside lining for the tunnel. you wouldn't need to come along and shoot concrete along the tunnel. Nor would you need to come along with steel or rock bolts as is done in conventional tunneling.
If the technology works like it is described in these patents, the tunnelers would move along without leaving many tell-tale tracks behind.
However, the plans for these nuclear-powered tunneling machines are as real as can be. And as I've said, I don't know that any such machines are in use or that any such projects are actually underway.
Additionally, my information is that these tunnelers might
be remotely and automatically piloted. If that was the case, there
would be no problem for human operators being exposed to
extensive heat.
The patent numbers on these machines are : 3,885,832, 3,881,777 and 3,693,731. You can go to any federal documents collection that has a United States patent file and request to see these. Most large university libraries would have them. Check it out.
Q. Why is this subject of underground facilities
controversial?
A. There is a constitutional question here. Much, if not most of this underground construction which is most definitely going on, has been done without the knowledge of the American people. It has been done through classified or otherwise off-budget (i.e. hidden "black budget") projects. This is unconstitutional.
I would cite for this passage from the Constitution: Article
I, Section 9 has to do with the powers and duties of the
Congress: "No monies shall be drawn from the Treasury but
in consequence of appropriations made by law."
If we are dealing with things being constructed under the black budget, they are not made by law and you can[t go and read a law that talks about these projects.
The second clause says: "and a regular statement and accounts of the receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time." I've combed through the federal documents pretty closely and I can't find these kind of "receipts and expenditures" being reported and I do have three college degrees.
What is happening is not constitutional. There is a problem when much of this is being done by the military- and officers of the military have sworn to uphold the 'constitution. they are violating the Constitution.
I think that's simple. I hope that people will exercise their
mind and think about this. Read the constitution. If I'm all wet,
then fine. but if there's some merit to what I say then I think
we should reflect upon things and act accordingly.

The Would-be masters of the Global Plantation met in Switzerland to decide the fate of the world. But everything isn't going their way.
BULLETIN: As The SPOTLIGHT was going to press on June 15, new information arrived from Europe including copies of stories in European newspapers containing new information on the Bilderberg group. We'll have a detailed report on this next week.
BURGENSTOCK, Switzerland-The Bilderberg agenda stressed three elements-all related: Sending Americans to war in the Mideast, saving President Clinton's political hide and accelerating the move toward a world government.
The prospective war (SPOTLIGHT,June 12), in which American forces would lead a United Nations invasion of Iran, is viewed by Bilderberg as a political master stroke to save the Bill Clinton presidency.
Saving Clinton a Bilderberg member himself who had many administration officials at the meeting to receive his orders, is a priority.
If Clinton goes down in 1996, which appears likely unless Americans are stirred by-as one Bilderberg member said-"a holy war," the Bilderberg-Trilateral plan to establish a world government by 2002 could be endangered.
For the first time since the administration of Richard Nixon, Bilderberg is uncertain of owning the president of the United States after the next election.
Since Nixon, all presidential nominees-both Republican and Democrat-have been owned by the Bilderberg-Trilateral clique. All presidents were members of one or both except Ronald Reagan.
But Reagan, as president, held receptions for the Trilateral Commission, of which he was vice president, George Bush, was a long-time member.
NO TIES
None of the Republican presidential aspirants, nor any of the prospective third party candidates, have ever had known ties to either Bilderberg or its junior varsity, the Trilateral Commission. The world shadow government is accustomed to owning both horses in a two-horse race.
Bilderberg cares not about spilling the life's blood of America's young men, or the heart's blood of American women, "when so much is at stake," in the words of one participant.
While Bush, as his predecessors, was an obedient servant to Bilderberg-to the point of committing political suicide by breaking his "no new taxes" promise-Clinton is "the best president we ever had," said one Bilderberg participant.
When we brought Bill here in 1991 (actually, to Baden-Baden, Germany), we had to explain the acronyms `NAFTA' and `GATT' to him," said David Rockefeller, referring to the North American Free Trade Agreement and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, not the World Trade Organization.
"Instantly, he agreed to support both, without even understanding the issues-he trusted our judgement," Rockefeller said. "Never, not once , has bill disappointed Us." Rockefeller once told The SPOTLIGHT that he is a Republican.
"We have to do something to save him," said another in the group with Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger. "Whatever the price..."
"Going after Iran could do for Bill what the Persian Gulf venture did for George<" said another, to the nods of Rockefeller and Kissinger. He was referring to the 1990 Persian Gulf war, which Americans viewed as an international Super Bowl in which the United States scored six touch-downs in the first quarter, declared victory and left the field
POPULARITY SKYROCKETED
Bush surged in the polls-up to 90 percent in some-as Americans burst with patriotic pride during victory parades.
Two years later, Bush, a veteran of World War II, lost to Clinton who, in his own words, dodged the draft during Vietnam out of concern for "physical harm,"
Later, Clinton amended that, taking the Liberty Lobby position that the Vietnam War was wrong because American had no legitimate interest at stake.
Bush's rise and plunge was much on the Bilderberg minds.
"American public opinion can be turned on its head, upside down, in an instant," said one.
"It won't be for two years this time," said another.
The gloom that clouded the meeting of their Trilateral brethren
in Copenhagen (SPOTLIGHT, May 8) also gripped
Bilderberg.
Much outrage was expressed by numerous Bilderberg participants about "soaring nationalism...new isolationism...resistance to supranational institutions...clinging to the nation-state concept of sovereignty...the rise of the Buchanan mentality."
The latter was a reference to journalist Pat Buchanan's campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. In some places, Buchanan trails only 'bob 'dole (R-Kan.), Senate majority leader and the GOP front-runner, and runs ahead of Sen. Phil Gramm (R-Texas)and the rest of the field.
Some Bilderberg participants expressed horror that Buchanan might actually be nominated by the Republicans and become president in January 1997, "considering the rise of the right wing," in the words of one.
PULL TO RIGHT
But, whether nominated or elected, Buchanan is "pulling the Republicans to the right,: a Bilderberg participant complained. "He has Dole (expletiveing) all over Bill's Bosnia policies." he said, inadvertently noting that the president has a different stance on the issue every day.
"Well, we can never do business directly with Buchanan," said another. "We're not his favorite people." In 1992, in response to a SPOTLIGHT question, Buchanan publicly denounced Bilderberg, the Trilaterals and their propaganda ministry, the Council on Foreign Relations, vowing to have none of them in his administration.
To help counter rising patriotism in the United States, Bilderberg recruited an unlikely participant: William Kristol, who was top assistant to Dan Quayle when the latter was vice president. Kristol now heads the Project for the Republican Future, a "conservative " think tank. He is also scheduled to head up an internationalist journal being financed by Rupert Murdoch. In recent weeks Kristol-who is hostile to Pat Buchanan's maverick candidacy-has been touting a possible presidential bid by house Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Now that he has been drafted into the Bilderberg, Kristol will no doubt reflect Bilderberg philosophy in his famous public "memos" to the Republican party-if they remain public.
Others brought in to help douse the fires of patriotism in the united States are less surprising, including David R. Gergen, of no fixed ideology, Gergen is now teaching at Duke University and is a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute, one of the many, but smaller, arms of Bilderberg.
BEEN THERE BEFORE
Gergen has participated in Bilderberg before and has demonstrated an ability to embrace whatever views are assigned to him. He has called himself a "Republican" all his life, but voted for Hurbert Humphrey in 1968.
His father, a fat cat Republican had such influence that Gergen took a high White House position from the man he voted against: richard nixon.
Gergen surfaced for a while as a Clinton spokesman at the White House, kept tripping over his mouth and went into obscurity at Duke. Gergen first attended Bilderberg meetings as a writer for U.S. News and World Report as one of several representatives of major news organizations to buy their silence. He fits right in. Helping Gergen and Kristol try to stem the new populism in America are two Bilderberg old hands who are now out of power: Lloyd Bentsen and Tom Foley.
Bentsen began attending Bilderberg meetings as a Democratic senator from Texas and Finance Committee chairman. He continued while Clinton's secretary of the treasury. Foley (D-Wash.) was speaker of the House until angry voters ousted him in November 1994.
Together these three and others perceived as "conservative" or "moderate" have the assignment of convincing political leaders and the public, in their speeches and writings, that subservience to the United Nations and its "supernational" institutions is somehow a patriotic duty.
Both the looming war and resistance to populism in America are related to Bilderberg's panic about moving forward toward a world government by 2002-the original target of 2000 already set back two years.
PUSH HARDER
"The political tide in America makes it more important-not less- that we move forward with the European Union as a single political entity, with a common currency and without borders," said Giles Radice, a member of the British Parliament and chairman of the European Movement.
"When this is accomplished-a vast state encompassing Britain and the continent-we can say to those nationalists in America: `You don't want to be part of the New World? Tough'," Radice said.
"That's exactly why we have moved to speed up the common currency, which will mean that the European Union is, finally, one great state," Radice said. He was referring to an action taken by the European Commission even as Bilderberg participants were alighting from their helicopters.
The European Commission, in a `green paper," released during the Bilderberg gathering, called for the common currency to become a reality by the year 2001 or, at the latest, in January of 2002.
Launching the single currency is like launching a rocket," said the commission's economic affairs member, Yves-Thibault de Silguy, in releasing the paper. "There is no turning back."
Completing the political, economic and all the aspects of the European superstate is a cornerstone of the Bilderberg-Trilateral agenda for establishing a world government under the United Nations.
The plan is to divide the world into three great regions for the administrative convenience of the future world government: the European Union, American Union and, finally, the Asia-Pacific Union.
NAFTA is to be expanded, beginning with Chile, to include all of the Western Hemisphere, as reported years ago by The SPOTLIGHT and stated directly by David Rockefeller on a network talk show, the McLaughlin Group.
COMING PARLIAMENT
The 90-man commission-30 each from the United States, Canada and Mexico-will be enlarged accordingly as NAFTA expands. The commission will evolve into the American Parliament, similar to the current European Parliament.
Already, the third great region is in the embryo stage: the Asian-Pacific Economic Community, which has been dutifully promoted by Clinton.
But it is also important to continue building up UN agencies, empowering hem to impose their will on sovereign "nation-states," other Bilderberg participants said.
The UN's International Labor Organization is a good "assault weapon,"despite an effort by Sen Jesse Helms (R.-N.C.), chairman of the foreign Relations Committee, to cut U.S. funding which accounts for 25 percent of the budget, said one participant.
"Make the Helmses and other nationalists say they don't care about slave labor, child abuse or squalid working conditions,"he said.
The International Labor Organization was meeting in the same country (at Geneva) at the same time as Bilderberg. High on the agenda was obtaining authority to enter not only sovereign nations but people's households to prevent "labor abuse."
Bilderberg has had some sharp setbacks: Americans are less willing to surrender their nation's sovereignty to a world government and there is grave doubt that the international elite will own the next president.
But they are persistent and will fight on. They've got the
money.

Mission: Find someone on the inside willing to talk.
BURGENSTOCK, Switzerland-In the Bilderberg bunker within an enclave atop the snow copped mountains, getting sources and meeting with them required some Thespian antics.
The male code-named "Lars," and the female, code-named "Heidi," had been courted starting Tuesday night and started reporting Wednesday at a restaurant frequented by employees of the hotel where the Bilderbergers were meeting just outside the last checkpoint.
To keep them from being fired, then drawn and quartered, we
established a routine similar to that of "Pipeline"
when
Bilderberg net at Baden-Baden, Germany (SPOTLIGHT, June 24, 1991).
Sometimes, they would report individually and other times, depending on their work schedules, together. I would arrive a few minutes before the appointed time, always taking a different, remote table. The place was never even half full.
Heidi, Lars or both would take an adjacent table. During moments when no waitress was in the room, they would hand me any document they had. They would speak, apparently to each other, for my benefit. If reporting alone, Heidi or Lars would speak only if nobody was in hearing distance but not look at me.
I was careful to wear no suit coat or tie, just a black topcoat needed on chilly evenings in the Alps. That made me appear harmless. When all information had been gathered, they would suggest an acquaintance. The waitress had been told in advance to put it all on one check and give it to me. She did not appear to find this strange.
I first thought a third source was a Bilderberg participant because he was wearing a badge with photo and a green square. At this point, late Wednesday night, I had seen only badges with red squares, which identified security forces, whether Swiss army, state police, plain cloths or Bilderberg's private goon squad.
Sitting in another establishment that, I learned, was favored by the hotel's staff, I observed that the badge wearer "looked Bilderberg' in dress and demeanor.
"This group they call `Bilderberg' must be a high-powered bunch- I have never seen this much security for the president of the United States," I ventured.
"They think they are," he replied with a grin. As the conversation moved along, I learned that he worked for the hotel chain and had great reservations about people who have to do their business behind closed doors.
It was then I ventured that I was an American journalist trying to open those doors, If he could help me without taking any chances himself-listen and observe, perhaps pick up any documents laying about or seen in trash cans-I would be grateful, I told him.
I'll do my best,"he said, "my name is..."
"Don't tell me your name," I interrupted. "That way, if I get caught, Bilderberg can put me on the rack but I will be unable to name you. I will call you `Father Time'," I said.
He laughed, reached for his check and promised to meet me at the same spot at 9:30 pm the next day. I took his check from him and said I would be there waiting. He returned the next evening with the list of Bilderberg participants. Any would be summarily fired if caught.
Much of what you are reading about this Bilderberg meeting
came from Heidi, Lars and Father Time. Also helping was Stefan
Ragaz, a reporter for the Luzensner Neuste Nachrichtem newspaper,
who made his own penetrations. We agreed to share information.

The SPOTLIGHT is recognized as being instrumental in bringing Bilderberg to the attention of the Swiss media.
The Friday, June 9 edition of the Swiss newspaper Basler Zeitung confirms SPOTLIGHT reports of the Bilderberg meeting at Burgenstock. Unlike the American papers, this Swiss newspaper gave a fair account:
The headline translates: "A Conference Cloaked in Secrecy at the Burgenstock."
The story said the group's agenda included tackling questions concerning expansion of NATO to the east, security for peace, labor markets, U.S. involvement in the European Union, global politics and the currency crisis.
The article mentioned the tight security measures: "The conference took place a few hundred yards from the last hiker's post and here were guards present to ensure you could go no further."
Due to pressure form the Luzerner Neuste Nachrichten (LNN; a Swiss news service) who were informed of the meeting by The SPOTLIGHT, David de Pury, the co-president of Asea Braun Bovere (ABB) unveiled information to the press stating that NATO Secretary Peter Carrington will be chairman of the Bilderbergers this year and included a list of members including Henry Kissinger, Austrian Chancellor Franz Vranitzky, King Carl Gustav of Sweden,, ABB Percy Barnevik, EU Commissioner Hans van den Broek and Ritt Bjerregaard, Nestle Chairman Helmut O. Maucher and Swiss bankers Josef Ackermann, Hans Heckmann and Walter Frehner (SPOTLIGHT, June 19).
The Swiss newspaper said, in part: "A U.S. weekly, `The SPOTLIGHT, who for years have been following this conference, feels the group is painting the larger political picture and working on a schedule to take over world government by the turn of the century.
The Swiss newspaper doesn't dispute this. It concludes by saying,
"No one will grant interviews nor will they publicize the
votes on these issues being discussed; you can only guess what
the conference was about or what their goals are since it is cloaked
in secrecy.
